the view and staff friendliness
The location was great and the breakfast was nice
The whole Hotel was overpoweringly hot. The room was basic for the price
Nice rooms, warm for time of year, spotlessly clean.
The breakfast was good and the room was seafacing. Location of the hotel was good and there was ample parking.
We didn't like the fact that none of the electrical appliances (tv, kettle) were set up for use. We struggled to get any tv channels and it took a little while to figure out what plugged in where - there weren't enough plug points for everything. Also the curtains wouldn't close which caused the bright street light outside to be a problem when trying to sleep.
The price. Breakfast was good too.
One of the reasons I chose this hotel was the wi-fi service available to residents. It wasn't working and the staff were distinctly unhelpful with regards to this. I think they should change the wording of their ad to "free wi-fi, if the winds are in our favour" - which was the excuse I got. Also, the room wasn't ready for me when I checked in just before 3, and yet I was allowed to go the room.
Breakfast: good choice well cooked
Nothing matched, patched wall paper in room was once a nice Victorian/Edwardian guest house but unfortunately has seen it's better days.
Rooms were clean and tidy we had a good view of the sea from our window
Nice location, good views over the sea
The hotel is tired, electrical devices don't always work, lift was out of order and the room was unbearably hot.The food was poor.
Clean rooms, good breakfast and friendly staff
Having a double room given to us on the first night instead of a twin room
Sea view
Poor decor, badly set out, unsafe window; dimly-lit diningroom with no daylight;linen/rubbish in corridors; and safety standard of lift very questionable, with limited wheelchair access.
