Location is first class. Classic style, great food.
The warmly welcome from Philip & Anton, the wonderful view, the delicious breakfast.. we loved to stay with them!
A beautiful location on the village outskirts of Ampleforth. Anton and Philip were amazing hosts. The room had the most stunning views and the breakfast was delicious with variety to suit all tastes.
Comfy bed, excellent accommodation and friendly and helpful owners. First class hospitality.
Wonderful breakfast - outstanding. Careful service. Philip and Anton were charming hosts. They were extremely helpful with restaurant recommendations and produced a splendid tea and brownies (to die for with stem ginger) after a days walking. We were made to feel very welcome and loved our stay.
We had such a good time I hesitate to find fault but if I had to mention anything, the bathroom was a bit tired - and it was across a corridor rather than en suite, although I should stress we were well aware of that when we booked.
The Shallowdale House is an ideal choice for travelers who want to take in the sights and sounds of Ampleforth. In their spare time, guests can explore the hotel's surroundings. There's never a dull moment at this hotel, our guests indicate that the facilities are excellent.
