Cosy and warm refurbished traditional house next to other hostels of similar kind. Short pleasant walk to the Centre. Although doesn't include breakfast there's a complimentary coffee, tea and cookies set. Very friendly and flexible crew and the fact that they clean the room every day is notable.
A breakfast option would have been awesome, but it's understandable if they want to get rid of such hassle.
The location and hospitality were outstanding, made very welcome and on the doorstep of York city centre.
Wouldn’t say I disliked anything as such, I found the pillows a little uncomfortable, but probably as I’m used to my own. Also a shame the breakfast option was no longer available after being advertised as a B & B on booking.com.
Arrived at the hotel and we were informed that our room had been upgraded to en suite due to a prior cancellation which was a lovely surprise. The owner was knowledgable about area and happy to offer help or advice, the rooms were well decorated, modern and clean.
Room was lovely. Andrew was fantastic when we arrived and showed us where to park when we left. The location was really close to the center of York and the value for money was excellent.
The one and only thing was that the shower was very cramped and the bathroom felt a little be cramped.
The location is excellent, very close to the centre and train station, both easily approachable on foot within 15 min. Even though the guest house is quite central, the area is very quiet and lovely. Very good price for value - the room was very clean and equipped with everything we needed (towels, hair dryer, tea, coffe, kettle, toiletries etc.). An additional extra that the bed was super comfy!!! We did self-check in as we arrived in the evening but everything was easy and Andrew was very helpful providing all necessary information.
