Though I was planning to stay for 15 days my stay got cut short due to the 2019 pandemic, but the time I was there was AWESOME. The staff were fantastic - very helpful and gracious despite being under stress themselves due to what is going on in our world. I asked for and was able to be given a cathedral view room. It was better than I had imagined. The window was HUGE, and the cathedral is literally right there. I left the shades open at night so I could fall asleep to the view of the floodlit cathedral. The room was HUGE compared to what I was expecting; I had just come from London where I'd been in a similarly described room for a similar price, and this room was at least 3 times the size - with desk space and more than one chair - really big and expansive - comfortable. The wifi connection was excellent, which was so important because, again, due to our world situation, I had a lot to do online to change my plans and figure out how to get back home again very quickly. Overview - fantastic staff - fantastic location - reliable wifi. I hope to go back as soon as our world is back to normal!
I notice that some others have commented about furnishings being "dated." Yeah, OK, the furnishings in the rooms are a bit dated, but it's not bad, and rest of the hotel interior (check-in and public spaces) seemed up-to-date to me. The room was clean, and I was too busy looking out the window at my close-up view of the cathedral to worry about when the furnishings had last been updated . . . things were certainly in good working order and were comfortable and clean.
Nice comfy bed. Friendly helpful staff, good location
Room could do with updating
Great location, friendly staff, lovely view from the window of the cathedral. Lovely food and very clean and tidy.
No electric vent in the bathroom, a bit old fashioned.
We had a room overlooking the cathedral, and access to the bars and restaurants just off the High St was only a 5-10 minute stroll. The bed was huge and VERY comfortable! Breakfast selection is excellent!
The bar area is looking a bit tired and well-worn.
Location was excellent
Not able to get in the room until 3.30pm, room was small and carpet was stained.
