Pros: Location was perfect to walk into town and to walk to the lift up the mountain. Lots of restaurants nearby. Room was clean and host was very pleasant. Ate at the Italian restaurant owned by the host and it was lovely. Overall I would recommend this location as long as you are ok with not having a host on site at all times.

Cons: We were there on a very busy weekend due to the music festival so the host was busy at her restaurant. Although she tried we did not meet her until the end of our second day there. Parking was available thank goodness but I would not recommend trying to park a large vehicle

Pros: It was in a great location. Mittenwald is just gorgeous. There were fresh flowers on the table, beer, orange juice and sparkling water in the fridge and chocolates in a bowl on the table. Karin is a lovely host and was very good with her communication to us. The apartment and balcony were pretty much perfect. WiFi was excellent!

Cons: A microwave would have been extremely handy but there was no room to put it. The kitchenette was extremely small so we were preparing lunch on top of the hotplates.

Pros: We absolutely loved staying in Haus Schweigart! Very nice and clean apartment fully equipped with everything a tourist may need. Convenient parking, welcome drinks and many information materials about Mittenwald. Karin is very caring host. She immediately provided us with baby cot and high chair and always was ready to help. We also visited Karin's restaurant and enjoyed authentic Italian dishes. Strongly recommend!

Pros: The perfect acces of Mrs. Karin's owner is to see that it makes the heart. We will be back soon :-)

The view from the room was amazing, looking directly out onto the mountains and cable car. The room had everything you needed as a base to go exploring and the owner was really friendly and helpful.

Cons: It’s a bit of a hike into the town centre (about 15 minutes). Seems to be plenty of parking for those with a car - we didn’t have a car.

Pros: The location is spectacular. On the hill above town with a full view of the town center and mountains. View in day and at night was Gorgeous. I really wished our stay was longer. We only spent 1 night and didn't have time to walk into town from the property which looked like a lovely walk. The host welcomed us warmly and made checking in a breeze. Parking lot had plenty of space. The breakfast was beyond expectation. Many options, fresh, tasty and great quality. Next time I'm able to return to this area I will look at this property for booking first.

Cons: The only drawback is carrying suitcases up and down steps to and from the parking lot but it is understandable as the road doesn't go to the house directly. Just a slight inconvenience.

Pros: Very close to the train station, and scenic places. Old building with a nice atmosphere, but extremely small room. Our host was very helpful. Checkin was easy. The view from the balcony is beautiful.

Cons: the bathroom was about 1.5 x 1.5 metre, and so a large person may not be able to use the toilet. The floor next to my bed had a lot of fluff and hair. This transferred from my feet to the bed. Over the road is a work station for trucks, and last night people were fixing a truck until 9 pm. The noise was really uncomfortable and I was not able to sleep.

Pros: Location was great, a few minutes to the paths and tracks for hiking and only 5 minutes to the centre of Mittenwald for shops, restaurants and transport The room size was big, clean had great WIFI. I received a warm and friendly welcome from Ben who is always there to support you and give you help and guidance for daily adventures; be it trail running, skiing, climbing, hiking routes etc... it was good to get advice from someone knowledgeable of the area. Room had great balcony views of the mountains and nice to look out to after long days out. I was only there for 3 nights and it was just what I needed. Thanks Ben.

Pros: The view is absolutely amazing! You have the prealps or Karwendel In the backyard. And the sounds of the bells on the cows and sheep and the smell in summer of the flowers really is refreshing after being in the city.

Pros: Very hospitable hosts who live onsite so are available to assist with any questions. Spectacular views over green fields to Alps set in quiet location about 10 minutes from Mittenvald. It's an old Bavarian house with a number of guest rooms.

Cons: Driveway is steep to access house. Room with shared bathroom was quite small.

Pros: Accomodation is out of the city. Middle in the nature. Good breakfast. Nice views from balcony

Pros: Breakfast was great and more than enough, with the option to take any left overs for lunch. Owners were very friendly and helpful, taking individual interest in all of their guests.

Cons: Connection to the towns without a car was difficult even though there is a free bus service. The bus only came a few times a day, with the last one at around 4pm. There are no food options close by to the BnB, so it is necessary to stay in town for dinner and take a taxi back to the accommodation.

Pros: Couldn’t be happier. The hosts are very friendly and helpful. The rooms are comfortable and quiet with a modern bathroom. Beds very comfortable with extra pillows (hooray!). Great location close to restaurants in both directions ( 5 min drive ) and the view is breathtaking. Traditional Bavarian breakfast is served in a quaint dining room and is very nice. Parking on site. Would recommend to couples who enjoy quiet getaways.

Pros: We loved the peaceful atmosphere and felt like home in our room and the lovely breakfast room. Breakfast was very good and our room was tidy and big. We also loved to spend time on our balcony and admire the wonderful scenery to the mountains.

Pros: Wonderful location within walking distance of many great attractions in Mittenwald. Very close to the head of the trail for Partnach Gorge and a quick 10 minute walk to downtown. The room was very nice and had recently been updated and there was a tremendous view of the mountains from our ensuite patio. This is not even to mention the fantastic breakfast each morning...

Pros: The property was excellent. We arrived a bit late due to the driving, but the owner was more then gracious. She even placed us in a downstairs room, which was great for us old folks. Her beautiful dog greeted us and the view from the room was beautiful (snow of course). The breakfast the owner put out was wonderful. So much food and beautifully prepared. We drove to Innsbrook the next day and it was a very easy drive even in the snow and rain. The town was so quaint, food and people were wonderful. We would come back here again.

The entrance to the hiking trail that leads to the waterfall and Leutashklamm was only a 3 minute walk away. And the city center was only a 10 minute walk. The staff was very friendly. We met the owner the day we checked in and saw her a couple times after that. She was very nice!

Pros: Lovely big clean room with wonderful view. Having a table and chairs along with plates and cutlery was helpful if you wanted to bring in food. Balcony had nice furniture. Additional touch was fridge on landing to keep our own food and drink plus the honesty box to help yourself to drinks. Good breakfast and friendly, helpful owner. A nicer walk into the centre of town is along by the river accessed by path immediately outside the guesthouse rather than along the road, an easy flat walk with beautiful views.

Pros: Perfect location, very close to the center of town but not so close as to be noisy or congested. Lovely room with lots of exposed wood, nice little balcony with views of the town. Great breakfast. I had a room with a shared toilet and shower, which worked out fine. Mittenwald is a perfect little Bavarian town with lots of opportunities for hiking, biking, strolling the pedestrian zone, learning about violin making, and enjoying local foods and customs. Highly recommended.

Pros: This was a perfect place to stay during our three nights in Mittenwald. The view of the gigantic mountains across the valley was an incredible introduction to the Alps. Our hosts were very warm and friendly to newcomers to their part of the world and really helped us to feel at home. The pension was across the road from hiking trails leading to the beautiful small swimming lakes not too far away. We also liked being able to attend services at two of the town churches. It was great being there for the feast day of Sts. Peter and Paul.

Cons: There was nothing we didn't like. Our hostess was very willing to guide us to the sights in the area, and we appreciated the coupons for the free chair lift and local bus ride to the lakes.

Cons: I would prefer a location closer to town. However, this might have meant giving up some of the following: price, quietness, views, beauty of area. The walk back from the center is uphill. But really it is not that bad, so this is a quibble.

Pros: Pension located a little uphill from city centre but not a big deal. It's a pleasure walking up and down. The room had a rustic touch - lovely. The view from the room is worth every penny. Breakfast is good and the dinning area is very cozy. Clean bed sheets. TV with many channels. Well maintained pension. The price was fair.

Cons: A slightly different approach for English spoken people than for German spoken - disappointing. Housekeeping needs to do a better job. Bathroom's sink is the tiniest possible. I had a hard time washing my face and brushing my teeth in that sink. Other than that, the bathroom is OK. Towels had a slight scent. Too bad I didn't bring one from home. Bad pillow (a matter of taste and perception). Poor phonic isolation between rooms. Lucky enough not to have neighbors working on expanding family. I won't book again.

Pros: The most stunning pension I have ever stayed in. This was our second time to return to this wonderful place. The view is just stunning and the rooms are kept extremely clean. The owners made us feel so welcome and we loved every minute. The breakfast is fantastic and the location is just a short walk from the Kranzberg cable (Highly recommend going here and eating in the restaurant at the top with the stunning view). Mittenwald is just a couple of minutes walk. Amazing value to stay in this wonderful location. We cannot wait to return to the amazing Pension Schwalbennestl.

Pros: The location was fantastic. Our room faced the mountains and the view from the balcony was gorgeous. The breakfast had a good variety and was quite good. The back of the hotel leads to a main street of Mittenwald, and is very walkable. The town of Mittenwald is extremely quaint with painted frescoes on all buildings. Nearby from Mittenwald is Neuschwanstein castle (copied by Disney in its theme parks) and is worth a visit.

Cons: The parking was tight. We found a spot to park, which was not a real parking spot, but our car did not obstruct anything, so the hotel allowed it.

Pros: A splendid big hotel with friendly staff, good advice the next morning on the town. No problem with parking and they kindly allowed us to leave the car there for a couple of hours on our day of departure while we looked round. The hotel dining room has bags of atmosphere and was good value. Exceptional room and bathroom.

Pros: Super satisfied with the hotel. We've booked the room kind of spontaneously, only for one night, but everything from our room to staff was perfectly fine and nice. It is a clean, comfortable and good located place. You get a mini-bar full of drinks for free and breakfast (also included in the price) was very tasty, offering a wide range of foods. Staff everywhere was very friendly and forthcoming. Plus, we've got a nice big balcony.

Pros: My room was comfortable, spacious, and very clean. Alpen Hotel Rieger had a great location. The highlight of our trip was a hike up into the Alps. The first 30 minutes of our hike was on a good path but uphill and strenuous (Fitbit calculated the climb as 40 stories). Then the path leveled off for the next 90 minutes as we hiked past 2 pretty lakes. It was the most peaceful, beautiful hike. We ate lunch at a restaurant on the 2nd lake. There was also a bus stop there, and we took the bus back down into Fussen, where surprisingly the bus stop was right next to our hotel. Also good to know if you want to take the bus up into the mts and miss the initial steep climb. Our hotel was located about 6 blocks from the Tourist Information Center where we got information about local hiking trails. We were also within blocks of several good restaurants. Most had menus posted outside the restaurant. Ask if you need an English language version of the menu. Alpenhotel-Rieger provided a delicious breakfast buffet which was included in the price of the room.

So I parked infront of Hotel For public parking, but the parking-pay machine was out of order so this morning I had a parking fine. (This is not fault of Hotel) -the shower door and shower head did not work well, and I had to hold the shower head. This SHOULD be in order. -the hotel‘s restaurant was not serving food

Pros: The location is hard to beat. Right at the entrance to the pedestrian walking path of the center of town. The reception host welcomed us enthusiastically and made checking in a breeze. Had us park our car at entrance until we got our bags to our room. Didn't just tell us where the room was but walked us there. A spot to park our car without cost also. The breakfast was beyond expectation. Many options, fresh and good quality.

Pros: Location was at the pedestrian entrance to the town. Parking space was provided behind hotel (but few spaces are available, so it is good to notify hotel in advance if needed). Desk staff was friendly and helpful.

Cons: My room (double for single use) was small and felt claustrophobic. The hotel as a whole needs refurbishing. There is no air conditioning, and I was unlucky to stay during a heat wave.

Pros: We loved the charming Bavarian character of Bichlerhof, the warm hospitality of the staff, our comfortable room which included a dinette and a lovely balcony with views to the mountains. The hotel was very conveniently situated close to the picturesque old town, the railway station and within walking distance of the Karwendel cable car. The food, breakfasts and dinners, was all delicious.

Cons: When we arrived,the man who cannot speak Englich said no,no,not here, and another man brought us to another hotel. It was over booked !! After having negociated with H.Bichlerhof,finally anothe hotel accepted us with the same condition.We were very afraid !

Pros: We liked the location. The staff was very friendly and ready to help whenever possible. We would stay there again!

Pros: Hotel was nice but we requested a triple with an extra bed for a second child. We showed up with our triple turned out to be a double with a pull out chair and no room or bed for the second child. We had confirmed earlier with the hotel about the 2nd child but obviously there was a misunderstanding. The hotel tried to make it right but it would have meant having one child sleep alone in a room 2 floors below. Not acceptable for us. Fortunately the staff agreed to let us out of our agreement and we moved to another hotel. Overall nice hotel and nice people just make sure for the sake of the hotel and yourself that your needs are understood!

Pros: Very charming hotel and friendly staff. Our bedroom was lovely and the bed was comfortable. We felt we were getting a true feel of traditional Bavaria! Wish we could have spent a few more nights here.

Cons: My husband wishes there had been eggs served with breakfast (instead of just breads, meats, fruit, and cereal). Otherwise, everything was wonderful!

Cons: We found this place very nice up until the check out. During the check out, the lady at the counter was quite unpleasant.

Pros: The location was great in the middle of town. The breakfast was sufficient, however the eggs were too overcooked. On the whole the staff were friendly. The rooms were old but clean.

Cons: It would be great if the rooms had guest information in English as well, as only in German. I am sure this is a popular place for tourists and it would ease many who travel to have this onsite

Pros: Hospitable people. The location was quite nice, it is right in the center of the town.

Cons: It would have been better if they provide a fan / AC in the room. It was quite hot when I visited.

Pros: This was a traditional, quaint old hotel which was one of the more beautiful painted buildings in the town. Breakfast was huge and excellent. The vast majority of staff were terrific and very helpful, Loved the location and the quaintness and the building. It was lovely that they have tables outside where you are free to just sit and relax while enjoying a drink, snack or even a meal.

Cons: They need to mark their uneven floors better, so that the average guest can see the signs without turning to the side. I fell, and my sister-in-law almost did. Also, some staff, especially in the restaurant, could improve their ways of engaging with customers.

Pros: The location is prefect being right in the centre of the village. You can get out an about any time you want to walk the village. The restaurant in the property is excellent and there also is very good street eating tables. Property is well maintained and is a wonderful "gastehaus" experience.
