Pros: You are at home at Arkontiko Repana. In the morning Demi will cook every day a different and delicious breakfast, after sitting with you to organise your day and visits in the region with the best spots and addresses. When you come back in the evening you can enjoy a glass of Tsipouro with Stelios and devise on the history of the region and Greece, and more ! A fantastic experience, one of our best in eight years travelling in Greece. We can only strongly recommend Arkontico Repana. Thank you again dear friends !
Cons: Rien. Tout était parfait

Pros: It was a fantastic vacation in Makrinitsa. Amazing landscape, beautiful people, excellent food, and for the owners, Stelios and Demi, I do not have enough words of praise. They made us feel at home. I hope to revisit them. Very beautiful villa overlooking the port of Volos, very, very clean and very good breakfast.
Cons: Nothing

Pros: Warm guests. Excellent breakfast. We received vital information for our trip
10,0 Excellent
Pros: The hosts are a couple of amazing people, it has been an honor to meet them. The property is in superb location 2 minute walk from the central square of Makrinitsa. Places of interest are within walking distance. We left our vehicle in the parking and just forgot about it. Makrinitsa is the place to be!!! The property is extremely well maintained and extremely clean. Warm water was available 24hrs a day. Bed sheets were conditioned and clean, spotless. When you are at the property ask the landlord of the properties history which was first built in 1858!!! There are no words to describe the breakfast, make sure you include it!!!
10,0 Excellent
Pros: I liked everything. The hosts are extremely kind, helpful and warm-hearted people who take care of the comfort of their guests at any time when you look for them. Breakfast is only with home-cooked meals and fresh produce, extremely hearty. The house is authentic and you really go back in time, without missing out on modern conveniences. I would again visit the place with pleasure.
Cons: There's nothing I don't like.

Pros: Very satisfying breakfast. I loved the location and the view from it and the stone-paved yard with the flowers and the shaded area.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: We spent a wonderful week here. The owners are so lovely, kind-hearted and helpful people. The house and the village are amazing, they have a really special atmospehre. Our room with a sea view was simple perfect, and very clean. We got a home-made excellent breakfast every morning and after great recommedation for daily planning; where to go, what to see, where to eat. We spent days by the seaside and had hiking days too, but there are many nice places, many opportunities in Pelion.. it’s like a little treasure. I absolutely recommend Archontiko Reapa for everyone, who would like to jump out for a little from the rush of daily life and enjoy the beauty of the nature with a real Greek hospitality.
Cons: -
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Everything was amazing! The room was traditional, warm and clean and the hosts went above and beyond to make us feel welcome. Ms Demi advised us on what to visit in the area and made a traditional greek pie for breakfast, because we told her we were vegetarians. We will be back for sure!

Pros: Great location. Friendly atmosphere. Clean rooms. Great breakfast.
Cons: We liked it all .
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Viki and Stephanos are very kind persons! It could be some things which, depending on the traveler expectations, be a little annoying: sometimes the noise from the room from above, the car which appear from the corner on a tight and sloped road or whatever..... But: The breakfast is very good and a lot [Viki know better it will help you for the rest of the day]. Very probable in the working stressed days the image of Stephanos telling me: 'relax, free' will help me to relax and to remember a very nice holiday in a special place and, of course, to relax and enjoy thinking at the next holiday! Thank you Viki and Stephanos for this very nice memories from your home!
Cons: My own discomfort driving on those tight and sloped roads, especially when a local car [as the majority are] was appearing very fast after the corner. But doesn't mean I didn't liked that experience!

Pros: Perfect location to explore the fascinating city of Volos. Friendly staff and excellent facilities including a pool and roof top bar.
9,6 Excellent
Pros: Staff exceptionally kind and helpful.
8,8 Excellent
Pros: Near to the city center, perfect views , big parking
Cons: Little old, not 4 stars, maybe 3. Breakfast is weak and poor. The swimming pool is far away and the beach is only for shore- it is public beach, dirty and full of grandmas since early morning. Very noisy all the night from the bars around
9,2 Excellent
Pros: The rooms are large and comfortable, the hotel location is excellent, the breakfast rich and satisfying, the hotel staff support and help. The pool is very nice, although it does not have access from the hotel ... In summary, a hotel is highly recommended

Pros: The location is perfect! The staff is helpful and friendly.
Cons: The rooms have AC but when they are on, they make too much noise.
9,6 Excellent
Pros: Staff. Pool. Beach and sea. Access to Volos. Easy walk to ferries.
7,9 Good
Pros: Location at seaside and at walking distance from the city center pubs and restaurants Good coffee at breakfast
Cons: Quite noisy Many parties like weddings. We stayed 2 nights and both nights there was loud music until late after midnight
7,9 Good
Pros: Fantastic view of the sea, if you get a room with a sea view. Beautiful location, close to the all beaches in the Volos and the city centar of Volos. Excellent breakfast, bar at the top of the hotel is great, fantastic view and service. Excellent choice of hotel for a night, or two, as well as for business people, but not so much for the rest. Excellent parking..
Cons: First, the hotel is not new, there are plenty of things to renovation, and in the past we can see that was once five stars, but not today. Cleanliness is not satisfactory, it may be much better, because there is a lot of dust. Rooms overlooking the city are very noisy because of the traffic, the people who yell and sing and the church, even though you are away from the city center 1.5km. Air-conditioning in these rooms is blowing directly on you. Rooms with a view of the sea is beutiful, and Air conditioning was infused at the door, but the super cooling. But .... the noise, noise, noise ... left from hotel is fanastic restaurant Isola, to three in the morning is music, and right from the restaurant of the hotel. Beach of Hotel is disorganized, small, dirty water because the bay, but a lot of people swim. The hotel is 30 min by car from the divine beaches, so it's not for a family holiday, but it is a great town Volos.
9,6 Excellent
Pros: breakfast was very good and included many options. sea room view is spectacular, pool and spa are great. although some spa devices did not work.
Cons: some spa devices did not work

8,3 Excellent
Pros: Standarised breakfast with good quality. The location is perfect, as it is for the whole village. There is no panoramic view (not at least from our ground floor room) but there's a nice garden full of green and a pool. The staff was friendly and eager to help. Good prices at the pool bar.
Cons: The breakfast can be enriched with local products. There was a slightly disturbing smell in the room. The room was a little dark.
7,9 Good
Pros: The pool area is lovely with a nice pool bar. The room was a really good size, and the bathroom well equipped with a massage jet shower and lovely selection of soap, shampoo etc. The bed was really comfortable so we slept really well.
Cons: The hotel is about a 10 minute walk form the centre of the village. It's a steep climb back to the hotel which might be a bit too much for some. The half board option was a bit of a let down. The buffet breakfast was good but the evening meal consisted of greek salad followed by a choice of either penne in a red sauce or chicken in a cream or mustard sauce with fruit to finish. However, as it was our wedding anniversary, we asked if the value of the half board option we had paid for could be offset against the A la Carte menu. They agreed and all was good - but then we were told they had run out of white wine!!
10,0 Excellent
Pros: The resort felt homely from the minute we arrived. The staff were welcoming and friendly and by the end of our stay they felt like family. The pool was a clean and relaxing place to enjoy the sunshine. We would not hesitate to book again.
Cons: Leaving

8,8 Excellent
Pros: Nice hotel, with nice pool
Cons: Rooms can be cleaner
7,5 Good
Cons: Shower curtain was way too short for the bath tub and you couldn't hang the shower head above shoulder height.
7,5 Good
Pros: The hotel is on a quiet place a bit away from the center of Portaria so it's quieter there. Positives: - Outdoor pool - Comfortable bed - Large room - Private parking Breakfast was OK, well done with the late hours available
Cons: Even though this property has many nice features, there was plenty to fix as well: - Remote location is kind of scary sometimes, especially with some aggressive dogs all around the area, if you go there for biking or hiking... beware - Location was nice but views to town and see were hidden - Awful smell of mold in the room - It is a bit more expensive than the average in Portaria and it is a hotel (compared to the guest houses dominating the hills) - Need to get the most expensive option in order to have some views at all - Extremely noisy neighbors (woke up at 6-7am)
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Extremely nice staff.
Cons: All good.

Pros: This place is amazing. It was balm for the spirit to get up in the morning, throw open the curtains, and take in a view of the sea. The breakfast was good, even if it was very scarce in the first days. But that was not such a big deal. The staff is very polite, friendly and willing to offer you a piece of advice whenever you ask for it. We would totally recommend this hotel!

Pros: The fresh air at 600 meters above sea level, fresh water, beautiful Pelíon mountain.
Cons: Our preference ís twin beds. We were allocated a narrow double bed. Were moved into the only twin bed room, but not for the entire stay. So if a twin bed ís needed, remember to check availability. Apart from this, everything was superb.

Pros: The location, walking distance to the center of the village. The parking spot, which is nice to have in Portaria. The owner is very friendly and accommodating, easy to communicate and helpful with late check-in.

Pros: I very much enjoyed the lovely and romantic decoration, the excellent homemade breakfast, the smiling and helpful staff, the peace and quietness of the place, the wonderful garden with the pool and the sunbeds and the friendly guests. The first morning we needed to have breakfast half an hour earlier than scheduled and the staff arranged that for us and so it felt a lot like staying at a friend's house!
Cons: I would suggest that coffee facilities would be available in the room or at least accessible, especially since breakfast is served no earlier than 8.00 or 8.30 am.

Pros: It was really nice staying in this hotel. It is really cozy. And the hosts are super nice and friendly. They will give you anything you need. Once we missed out the breakfast and the lovely lady gave us a bag with some food in it and drinks to take away. This was very much appreciated. The swimming pool could be a bit cleaner for us. The rooms were small, clean but cozy. The center is a 10 min walk. Parking is a bit difficult at the hotel. But it is manageable. I really would recommend this cozy hotel.

5,4 Okay
Pros: The pool area is nice
Cons: The photos on booking.com have nothing to do with the reality, especially in the rooms. The rooms have not been renovated for ages. The furnitures are very old and deteriorated, the beds are horrible, the carpet is filthy, the bathroom disgusting. Honestly, taking into account the booking.com photos, this place is a scam.

Pros: The location is good. Proximity to the centre of the town and main pedestrian street. Satisfactory breakfast.

9,6 Excellent
Pros: I loved the effort the staff went into to organise a taxi transfer from the port to the accommodation for us. They went above and beyond for us and had even made a reservation for the bus from Volos to Thessaloniki for the following day. This type of service made me genuinely enjoy my time at Despotiko. The location of the hotel was in a beautiful village that had views of the ocean and city of Volos below. We went to a cute little Greek restaurant for dinner 10min walk from the hotel. The facilities are stunning and clean. The pool was beautiful and the views from the courtyard breathe taking. The food for breakfast was so good and the price for the entire stay was a complete steal. I will be returning in the future.
Cons: We booked in a rush as our ferry was cancelled due to weather. We did not take into consideration the distance from the terminal to the hotel.
9,6 Excellent
Pros: It was beautiful, historical, elegant, clean, and had fantastic views.
Cons: It was a bit difficult to drive to the hotel but only for the last 100 meters.
9,6 Excellent
Pros: Hidden gem with stunning views, very clean & had a boutique feel. Village a 5 minute walk with lovely restaurants.
9,6 Excellent
Pros: The staff at Despotiko were very helpful and friendly and easy to find when something was needed. They kept the common areas and rooms very clean and welcoming. Great breakfast with wide variety of foods. Our adjoining rooms for us and our 3 kids were spacious and clean and the bathrooms were modern and very clean. There were plenty of places to hang out both outside by the pool and inside. The hotel is conveniently located a short walk from the center of Portaria, so it is easy to enjoy the restaurants there as well as the Centaur's Path without needing to use a car. It was the perfect base for exploring Volos and Peilon, especially the upper half of the peninsula.
Cons: The description and photos of the hotel focus on the beautiful renovated 19th century mansion and do not make it clear that many, if not most, of the rooms are actually in other buildings in the complex without the old world charm. Our rooms were in a one-story building overlooking the pool, which was not ideal and disappointing, but luckily during our stay noise from the pool was not much of an issue while we were in. It did mean that we generally needed to keep the windows and curtains closed relying on the air conditioning. While the furniture in our room was modern, it was a bit rundown and sparse. The air conditioning in one of our rooms didn't work very well. It was impossible to use the shower in one of our rooms without creating large puddles in the bathroom.
9,6 Excellent
Pros: Nice environment in the mountain village of Portaria. Great pool area and friendly staff. Big variety for breakfast.
Cons: It’s a bit if a challenge to drive the narrow roads to get to the parking of the hotel.. but we made it without any scratches on the car (people carrier).
10,0 Excellent
Pros: good - plenty of options available.
6,3 Good

7,5 Good
Pros: dream location, very clean and well maintained, host very ok.
Cons: water problems ... I did not have bathing water and personal needs in the evenings and in the morning.
7,5 Good
Pros: The view is magnificent. Rooms are VERY clear, cozy... Bathroom - exceptionally clean.
Cons: Location of the hotel. You should NOT use Google Maps or navigation since you will end up going through veeeery narrow streets between houses... We came by night and it was even more frustrating. There is a road (a bit longer, but much better) but google won't take you that way. We've came on a day of the local holiday so it was very noisy (after midnight) but that was just our bad luck. I'm sure I would have better experience if I came by day and on a regular day. Hosts in the morning were not very pleasant. We had to leave early and we were not offered "take-away" breakfast which was included in the price.
9,6 Excellent
Pros: perfect location.

Pros: Perfect location
2,5 Mediocre
Cons: There is no parking. For people with locomotor problems it is a disaster. I found towels thrown on the floor when we arrived first time i the room . In one of the rooms on the first night when I got out of the air conditioner the water started to flow and I called the receptionist to come and fix the problem. It was solved by unplugging the air conditioner and we could not sleep due to the heat all night. The worst experience so far.

8,8 Excellent
Pros: Very good location

8,3 Excellent
Pros: Place was basic however better that a lot of hotels we have stayed at with higher rates.
7,3 Good
Pros: Location was good although front door located on side street a little hard to notice but not impossible.
Cons: Could be nicer but it was fine. Spiders/cobwebs.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Very friendly helpful staff. Great location.
7,9 Good
Pros: Good location, clean rooms and nice staff.
8,8 Excellent
Pros: Great service and hospitality from the staff. The hotel is located in the very center of Volos and at a great price, there are many nice shops and restaurants (I would recommend trying the amazing food at Meze, 7 min away by foot). The hotel's location is also very convenient if you are traveling by ferry, it's just 5 minutes far from the port. Comfy bed and air conditioning made our stay much better as we've been there in August and it was very hot.
Cons: As the hotel is in an old renovated building, it does not have an elevator. It could be a challenge arriving at your room if you have a big and heavy suitcase. Luckily, we were given a room 1st floor and reception was kind enough to offer help lifting our luggage. The bathroom in our room was a bit small. But besides this, our stay at the hotel was more than worth the price!
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Very good location with a friendly stuff that care about you. Very clean room and all the area of the hotel.
Cons: Null
8,8 Excellent
Pros: The staff were friendly and accommodating. The place was clean, tidy and good value for money.
Cons: The real problem is the heavy amount of traffic, all day and all night, which tends to affect how you sleep.
8,3 Excellent
Pros: Great central location; friendly and efficient staff
Cons: Traffic noise but that's the price of the central location, I suppose?
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Because I was travelling from Delphi that same day, Greece's geography posed a bit of a problem. Buses from Lamia to Volos are few and far between, so I had to make do with a wide V detour to Larissa and then to Volos. That, of course, did not bring me into Volos on time to get the ferry to Skopelos... so in Volos I would be staying. It is within walking distance of the train station as well as the port..so location-wise, the hotel can't be beat. The room was clean and all trappings are modern. As to dining options, many good places nearby. I made use of the air-con as August temps are high here. A good night's sleep before shipping off to Skopelos. By the way, a good supermarket is right nearby...perhaps 2 blocks.
Cons: No complaints.
