The restaurant is very nice...excellent breakfast and dinner! Fabulous bartender!!! We had an issues with our air conditioning equipment dumping water frequently one night...all night long...into the floor. They were very prompt in getting it fixed.
The Murano tour was frustrating. The hotel offers a complimentary shuttle boat to what we thought was Murano... be aware, this is a pre-arranged trip to only 1 ‘factory’ and straight back. I specifically asked the front desk if we could be dropped at Murano, spend time, and then take the public boat further to Burano. She said this would be possible once we were there. We were taken by a hired boat, along with another guest, directly to a factory. The factory demonstrations were great. My kids loved it! But then, the staff walk you around their showrooms. The sales staff are very nice, but it is very clear they want you to buy expensive glassware. The show room is massive and has beautiful glassware...it’s like a museum of very expensive items. I have been to Murano 3 other times by the public boats, and we were able to walk around and experience many of the factories, stores, and the island itself, which it what we were looking for. When we asked the sales staff if we could leave and see the rest of the island, the answer was that it was not possible...they had already arranged our taxi back and that it would be there in 20 minutes to pick us up. I was very upset, and they knew it. Had I known from the hotel that this was to be our Murano experience, we would not have taken their complimentary boat...we would have taken the public boat. I felt like we had been to one of those cheap timeshare tours. Very disappointing and a waste of our time. I also do not think this reflects well in the hotel for agreeing to arrange these types of experiences without a heads up. This left a very bad taste, and because our trip to Venice was rather short, my family missed our opportunity to see the other islands. Hopefully, hotel staff will communicate better with hotel guests about this free ‘tour.’
Delightful hotel on the Grand Canal. Magnificent view from your room. We splurged on the Junior Suite and we were not disappointed. HUGE room and extremely comfortable with everything you need. Absolute luxury!
Nothing we didn't like.
A very polished staff. We were taken to our room where the accommodations were explained to us. Our bags delivered by the porter. Breakfast was ample and presented beautifully with outdoor seating right across from the Vaporetto. Location in Venice perfect for St. Marks. It is an area well-traveled by tourists - beautiful, though not necessarily romantic.
The bathroom shower head, is in a bad location in the bath.
Fantastic location rivaling the better known Danieli, a Sheraton hotel, literally next door. Staff are excllent and "there to please and serve" making one feel really welcome, from bellhop to front desk to restaurant waitstaff. Very nice bathroom, beds and ambiance!
Rooms can be bigger, closet space would not be enough for a 3-4 days stay, would have to live "out of the luggage".
There are so many great cities in Italy, but few cities bring so much unique atmosphere to travelers the way Venice does. The Venetian atmosphere is perhaps the most exotic of all Italy. With influences from Eastern Europe and a long history of trading with the Arab world, Venice is truly in a class all its own. And then the canals. Staying in Venice can be a bit tricky, but the key is to find a hotel that displays a proper sense of Italian hospitality. Service is very important, but so is having a room with an amazing view. In providing great amenities, excellent service, and a truly unique place to see Venice, the Hotel Savoia & Jolanda checks all the boxes. When checking in to the Hotel Savoia & Jolanda, guests are immediately impressed with how authentically Venetian the hotel is. From its location on the banks of a canal and the beautiful piazza surrounding it, there’s no mistaking that guests are right in the heart of Venice. The staff at the hotel are quite happy to help guests. For travelers who aren’t Italian, Venice is confusing. The staff make sure that guests have everything they need quickly. The high-speed internet is available at no cost to the guest, and when arriving in the room, the views are to die for. It only gets better when collapsing onto the comfortable mattress after a long day of experiencing the best in Italian culture. Staying at the Hotel Savoia & Jolanda is a great way to experience one of Italy’s great cities.
