10,0 Excellent
Pros: Everything.
Cons: Nothing
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Perfect place to stay in Unawatuna. The hotel owner is super friendly and helpful. Each day he provided us with towels and water to the beach, suggested free lift to nearby beaches. In the afternoon the free fresh juice is included to the service. He owns a good collection of old cars and organizes excursions on that cars. He suggested us to participate in two free excursions (Galle fort and nearby places of interest such as turtle hatchery, tea factory, lake tour). Everything has been perfect. Also helped us to hire a driver for two-days tour and suggested an interesting rout. On the way we had some problems with the driver but Sumith was very supportive and tried to resolved all problems. Suggested us a free supper to forget about all problems. Helped us with cars to the airport, organized an early breakfast and said goodbye to us at 6am when we departed
9,6 Excellent
Pros: Everything was fantastic. Sumith was such a great host from start to finish. The breakfast was exceptional and he even shared some food for Tamil New Year celebrations with us. The mattress and beach towels provided for the beach were a bonus and it was a 2 minute walk to the beach. I enjoyed our tour of Galle fort in the Vintage Land Rover and everything was great. I would recommend this place highly for the service. Thank you again to Sumith and staff!
10,0 Excellent
Pros: The service, the staff they are great! They try to make your trip as enjoyable as possible!
10,0 Excellent
Pros: The owner, Sumit, is a real gentleman, the staff were so friendly and helpful. The room was very comfortable and it was very easy to explore the surrounding areas. The owner facilitated this by arranging tours using his fleet of vintage cars! Breakfast was very good. There are so many thoughtful and practical touches in this place which have made it one of the highlights of our trip. Thank you for having us and looking after us so well!
10,0 Excellent
Pros: The owner of the hotel is like a fairy who make all your dreams come true. You need sth you will have it. We were treated like a royal family. Free Galle tour, free fresh juices, presents from the owner. Super excursions. Everything was just fantastic.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: The staff at Ridee Villa are absolutely outstanding. Each and every one of them went out of their way to make our stay perfect - all of them are a credit to their boss Sumith. The hotel is set back from the main road, a short walk from the beach & some lovely restaurants. It is also an easy walk to some shops & restaurants further into town. The hotel even offer a free day trip which includes a visit to a turtle hatchery, herb & spice garden, stilt fishermen, Koggala Lake and the Virgin White tea plantation - made even more special by getting to go in the hotel's vintage Land Rover!
Cons: Nothing.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: I really enjoyed it. First we took 5 nights, then extended 2 more. I think that this could end the vacation, but the tickets back were a week later and decided to see another city. Very interesting style of hotel. Beautiful, clean, comfortable. Breakfast is delicious (there is a choice and you decide what and how much you eat). The owner is great, very much involved in the life of guests, trying to help in various matters. When you book for a long time, then in a group with other guests there is a small trip (to see how cinnamon grows - it was impossible to be interesting, did not even know; how fishermen catch fish - it was late already, but they just showed 1 minute how to sit; turtle farm - interesting for those who had not been, otherwise in all different places it's about the same; tea plantations - we didn't hit as it was late and already probably closed). The trip to the Fort was unforgettable! And at the end of our stay the Mr. Sumith gave me a little present. Thank you for your welcome. You have done a great job.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Thanks to Sumith and his team for great hospitality! Great breakfast, complimentary fresh juices after beach, nice and clean room!
10,0 Excellent
Pros: From the moment that you arrive in this place you feel super welkom. The owner and his staff are amazing. They help you with everything and they do all kind of extra things like if You go to the beach you get towel and a beach matt. And when you come back you get a super fresh juice. They bring us with their own tuk tuk to other beach and they pick us up with a special jeep. That was super fun!!!
Cons: Nothing

Pros: Good location, close to the beach. Staff were very friendly and helpful! Room was lovely and clean. Very comfortable bed. They even provided beach towels and a bag if you wanted.
9,2 Excellent
Pros: Great little hotel! The room was cozy and clean, A/C worked well. We also saw the monkeys from our balcony. They offered welcome drinks. The restaurant had great dishes and coctails (although a bit more expensive ones) and the breakfast was delicious. We liked the location, it is in a walking distance from the beach and close to the main street. They provided beach towels and toiletries.
Cons: The only minuses we saw: the bed was too soft and uncomfortable and we wish there was sound isolation as our room was next to the honesty bar (common area where anyone could take some drinks).
9,0 Excellent
Pros: We stayed in the deluxe room with a balcony, the room was huge and very comfortable and the balcony was great for relaxing after long days at the beach. As everyone else has mentioned, the food is amazing! By far the best breakfasts we’ve had in our three weeks in Sri Lanka. The staff were really lovely, and so helpful when I had a package delivered there. Rocky the dog is an added bonus! We will definitely be back!
9,6 Excellent
Pros: Staff were amazing and made this place a great stay. Good location with easy walking distance to beach and buses but quiet place down alleyway. Great breakfasts. Tasty cocktails also.

8,3 Excellent
Pros: The staff at the property were so attentive & helpful & the food is actually so good. We had one of the best meals in Sri Lanka here - consistently great food every time.
Cons: The location is okay but it is back from the beach a little bit. Not a huge drama if you hire a scooter.

Cons: Shower pressure was weak.
6,7 Good
Pros: You can use sister hotel pool which was great and a few of the staff members were exceptional and made our stay great.
Cons: Very loud outside with tuk tuks and constant beeping. Not allowed to have breakfast on the beach was a bit strange considering it's a beach house.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Wowed!! The entire team was amazing, from the ladies at front desk to the amazing restaurant lead by Chaminda and Chef Tunga they were all very attentive and amazingly friendly. We celebrated our anniversary and the room was filled with romantic touches and candles, thank you very much Housekeeping team! Amazing vacation, we will definitely come back next year!!

Pros: Room was nice with a cool "beach house" feeling. Easy access to beach. Many nice restaurants in the area.
Cons: Breakfast was nothing special.

Pros: We had a choice between Sri Lankan breakfast and Continental. We picked the Continental breakfast and it was yum! It was a set menu, where you could pick some fresh fruits, juices, tea, coffee, homemade yogurt, a bread basket and some eggs (done per your liking) with either bacon or sausages.

9,6 Excellent
Pros: We were upgraded on arrival to a lovely deluxe cabana. The bed was incredible. Pools were large and facilities great. Super relaxing stay. Great location just off main road and about 10mins walk to the beach.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Very nice hotel! Extremely good restaurant - good breakfast; we had dinner three nights and tried many different dishes. Both fish and Sri Lankan menu is warmly recommended. We enjoyed the two pools. And the staff are very serviceminded - I do hope waiters, cooks and cleaning staff are getting their share of the service charges.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Is a nice and peaceful place. Beautiful gardens. Close to the beach.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Fabulous end to our honeymoon. We went in the penthouse but the cabanas looked much better. We were there “off season” and it was super quiet. The food was absolutely fabulous, one of the best Sri Lankan food I had on the trip.
Cons: It was rainy season and so the mosquitoes were breeding quite quickly. I am not sure what can be done about that but they were a bit of a nuisance when you are trying to relax by the pool.
9,2 Excellent
Pros: The breakfast was excellent and a welcome break after a week of Sri Lankan breakfasts.
Cons: Everything was excellent. Highly recommend this place.
9,6 Excellent
Pros: The hotel is a real garden with a lot of trees and flowers. We booked a cabana. It had all you need for a long staying. Good restaurant in the hotel and there are a lot of cafes near. Distance to the beach is 5 minutes walking on foot. We recommend this hotel and will choose it again for sure.
Cons: Firstly the hotel provided us with an old small cabana near the kitchen. We asked to replace it. Next one was really lovely and we stayed there for 9 nights and we liked it. WiFi was available only in the public area.
7,0 Good
Cons: Added charges at checkout ( extra 2.5% when paying with visa which is how I booked)
8,3 Excellent
Pros: After staying in several hotels in Sri Lanka I can only give a highest rating to the cooking staff. Dinner was always very fresh and delicious with great flavors and good presentation every evening. Good breakfast choice as well. Good central location close to the beach and shops. Monkeys coming very close to the hotel. Great nature around.
Cons: The owner hires very young staff. Some of the waiters were truly service minded though there were few inexperienced ones with very poor English. One of the receptionists could barely understand us. We were not located in a main building but another place where there was an ongoing renovation. We were told it will only take an hour though we had to listen to drilling for two days! Pool water was not that clean coz of the surrounding plants and flying insects but it wasn’t too bad. We felt a little surprised that taxes and extra charges weren’t included in the final price. Note extra 2.5% charge if you pay using credit card. Our Mosquito net was full of holes upon arrival but was replaced later on with another one with fewer holes.. Take good repellents with you!

Pros: Location
Cons: The room smelt mouldy
9,6 Excellent
Pros: Good staff, excellent location, very close to the beach and restaurants.
9,2 Excellent
Pros: Excellent location next to shops, restaurants and obviously the beach too. Friendly staff that helped us with new travelling arrangements once the terrorist attacks in Colombo took place. They took good care of us even under extremely unfortunate events, so thank you for that.
9,2 Excellent
Pros: Very friendly helpfull Staff. Great value for money. Very close to the Beach (few steps). I would not expect more from 3 Star resort do in overall I would recomend.
9,2 Excellent
Pros: Amazing location!! Nice hotel and the pool was great. Breakfast was nice as well and good value for money. The rooms were basic but generally clean, aside from a few ants/bugs but that was the general theme in hotels. I think it’s pretty hard to keep rooms in hot countries completely bug free and it wasn’t that bad. Generally a really nice hotel in a fabulous location. Good value for money.
Cons: Bathrooms were a little basic and the shower was average. But considering the cost it was absolutely fine.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: The breakfast was lovely... All staff are really friendly and helpful.... The location is perfect... 10 minutes down the beach to the restaurants and bars.... But on a quieter bit of beach... There's 2 good restaurants next door aswell.... Black and white... and Peacocks!!
Cons: No water pressure in the shower and no hot water
7,5 Good
Pros: The staff and location.
Cons: The swimming pool is not a a swimming pool, it is a dip pool.
9,6 Excellent
Pros: The staff was very friendly. Great location just at the beach! The hotel was very clean and good worth of money. :)
Cons: The rooms could have a kettle. The pool was situated under a roof and was in the shades so No use of that one. Although the property is few steps away from the beach so there's not that much of a need of a pool anyway.
9,2 Excellent
Pros: Staff-amazing-friendly, perfect english (reception) -helps also with different questions about traveling tasty breakfast, very friendly to children.

Cons: Staff non cooperative rude
7,5 Good
Pros: Hotel is located in a great area right on the beach beside all the restaurants and bars. 10/10 for location.
Cons: Slightly overpriced for what we got. Rooms were nice but basic. The breakfast was very basic and had to pay for water during breakfast.
9,2 Excellent
Pros: Location was excellent. Attentive staff. Walking distance to restaurants and bars. Breakfast is standard, Western or Sri lankan.
Cons: Fridge bar not cold. Shower area flooded.
7,5 Good
Pros: The breakfast was very basic not to everyone taste it could improve. Location was vey good you can easily get a outside the hotel.
Cons: The menu for all 3 meals was very very basic so I found myself and family going somewhere else to eat.
8,8 Excellent
Pros: When we arrived at reception we were greeted with fresh water melon juice & our room was upgraded to ocean view for free. The staff were very friendly & our room was clean, comfortable & very spacious. There was a lock safe for your belongings & the room was made up every day, we really enjoyed our stay :)
Cons: The lunch/dinner menu could of had more to offer but that’s a very minor con
7,1 Good
Pros: The swimming pool, location and staff at the restaurant.
Cons: The property was very expensive as compared to the near by options. We arrived late at around 9:30 pm and when i requested for extra quilt around 11:00 pm as the room didn’t had one for the single bed, they informed the inventory room is now closed. Limited dine in menu.
8,3 Excellent
Cons: More options in food menu would be appreciated
9,2 Excellent
Pros: Location was amazing, walk out into the beach or a 2 minute walk to the main road from where you can explore the many local shops and side streets. Always tuk tuk’s and taxis available. Nice pool and good food.
Cons: Breakfast selection was very small but still enough- omelette, fruit or cereal and pastries
6,3 Good
Pros: The wifi and tv worked well. The buffet was fine. It has a red pool. But the lap pool was under repair. The beach and the sea was great even during the off season. Lots of places to eat around the hotel
Cons: One of the rooms were had a foul smell in the washroom. The other room had a malfunctioning A/C. Not much of entertainment like water polo or pool volleyball

Pros: The beautiful beach. Small private area. Staff was friendly and helpful. A nice beach to relax
Cons: The room was old. Bed was making that creeking sound. Wardrobe was old and too small. The shower door was stuck. The shower space was even too small for a small size person. Very runned down
7,1 Good
Pros: Great views right on the beach!
Cons: Room not cleaned despite asking twice... staff on reception wanted cash up front for stay .... unheard if in Srilanka before ... usually settle bill on check out.
7,5 Good
Pros: Clean, beach front and nice staff during day time
Cons: There is no one there at night only the security guard
7,5 Good
Pros: Quiet place with friendly personnel.
6,7 Good
Pros: Great location, right on the beach.
Cons: Air con wasn’t working in the room I’d originally been given on the first floor. I was moved to a room on the ground floor with less facilities (no fridge) and the bathroom was older and wasn’t nearly as close (no counter top, older toilet/shower/sink models, smaller mirror, older tiles) and no view of the sea from the room. The staff were very nice to have moved me so I could have air con in the second room, but it wasn’t nearly as nice as the first room and meant my stay was as I had expected.
9,6 Excellent
Pros: The location. Right on the beach close to the water. Staff were excellent, friendly and safe. Perfect spot for enjoying the beach.
Cons: The credit card machine didn't work so it was a hassle to withdraw cash from an ATM.

2,5 Mediocre
Pros: Nothing good about the property. Horrible rooms. No one should stay here.
Cons: All of the room photos are same. It is not the actual room photos. AC is not working. Me and my girlfriend were butten by bed bugs. We escaped from the property after first night. This place should br removed from all listings. There are stains and blood on the fabrics.
5,0 Okay
Pros: Location
Cons: The description say that tou can pay by card but you CAN'T! Firts of all they try to overprice our stay, the when we try to pay by cash the staff didn't have change, so we had to wait an hour to have our change. They turn off the wifi often, and when you go and tell them to turn on they do it but 5 minutes later they turn off. Is not in the beach as they say in the description.

Pros: Huge rooms, huge toilets, fabulous setting, courteous service. Lovely friendly owner.
9,6 Excellent
Pros: As we're the only guests staying at the time, the villa kindly upgraded us to a more spacious (in the size of our apartment back home) room. The staff was on point, taking care of our wishes. The swimming pool is amazing!
Cons: Breakfast options were too Westernised. We travel to experience the local goodies
9,6 Excellent
Pros: The breakfast was traditional, however they had other options if requested the night before. As for the accommodation, it was great, we stayed in the newly built block, located up top which was built to a high standard. Everyone was very friendly.
Cons: I think more information in regards to its location and access would have been more appreciated, as for the not so fit there is a bit of hiking getting from the restaurant and to the rooms, as it is located on the side of a hill. Not a flat level location, but it will not discourage me from going back.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: We had a great stay (group of 4) the property was clean and comfortable. The staff were also extremely helpful and were always happy to help. The location is a short 10 minute walk to the beach. At the property you can see peacocks and monkeys roaming around their natural habitat, which was a delight to see!!

Cons: Nothing, it was a very good place to stay.

Pros: Breakfast, large clean room, lovely communal spaces and pool
Cons: Unawatuna beach which is just across the road was a bit of a tip- lots of rubbish on beach and very few options to eat/drink. But Wijaya beach (2 mins in Tuk Tuk) was paradise- white sand and clear, calm waters. Galle fort was a lovely evening visit- go for sunset, have a walk, and then go to bungalow for dinner
