I really love Hanare's friendly staffs and their gorgeous interior.
In my opinion, Hanare's soundproof is really bad. I could not sleep well, because of the noise from outside. If you stay at this hostel, you can hear sound of everything like other room's door opening, passerby's cheating, dog barking, and others. Only except of bad soundproof, everything is lovely.
so traditional and great local hotel
The concept is great, and it's different from usual hotel. The cafe/restaurant is also great space to hand around and cozy place to spend time. The amenities in the room were thoughtful. Everything very clean and design wise very welcoming to the eye. The local neighborhood is great and easy access to train and tube stations. The staff was very friendly and spoke good English.
I would say the only thing I appreciated less was the room being very small.
The staff went above and beyond, they were so friendly and helpful. On Friday they gave us a tour of the area, focusing on our interests which was really good. They keep your baggage if your early, and hold if you depart later. The room were very unique, traditional in style and the shower is big.
Amazing breakfast (you can choose Japanese or Western style) with best morning coffee, very cozy room and friendly staff. Location is great, metro is only 10 min walk. This is so convenient when you are heading to the airport since Nippori station also has Skyliner train, which is much faster than regular train. It takes about 35-40 min to Narita airport. Even walking around quiet neighborhood was so much fun!
Hanare is traditional Japanese house and there is no elevator inside. If you have more than one luggage and staying on the second floor, you just have to hand carry everything.
With a stay at hanare, you'll be centrally located in Tokyo, within a 5-minute drive of Ueno Park and Tokyo National Museum. Featured amenities include express check-out, multilingual staff, and luggage storage.
