Cons: There were renovations going on during our stay which were not made clear at the time of booking. I have stayed at the Rogner a number of times over the last 5 years and it hasn't changed much. It feels like the rooms could do with a refresh. Not that they aren't good, I'm just probably being a bit judgemental considering the price. The breakfast also seems to have gone downhill a bit. Still very good for Albanian hotel standard, but not as good as it used to be. All round, still a very good hotel. Pity about the noisy renovations.

Cons: We planned on extending our stay, but this morning a group of builders armed with 4-5 jack hammers arrived and started ripping up the tiles outside the restaurant .. making using the pool area impossible. The noise is incredible. Glad we booked a city view room. There was no warning form the management. Also, if you like relaxing by the pool later in the day, before booking check with reception about pool area closures due to wedding hires... which appear to be frequent...

Pros: Hotel Mondial is a wonderful hotel, located around 10mins walk from the main square it has all the facilities you could wish for whilst exploring the beautiful city of Tirana. The rooftop pool is perfect to dip into after a hot day walking around the city. The cocktails up here are very reasonably priced too! The rooms are clean, well decorated, have all the amenities you would want and also have balconies. We were lucky enough to be upgraded to a deluxe room on our second stay here - which meant we had a sitting area too. The bathrooms are big and modern. The breakfast was delicious and plentiful - we especially loved the pancakes, fruit and coffee! We had to leave the hotel before breakfast on one of the days and the hotel were kind enough to make a takeaway breakfast for us with sandwiches, croissants and fruit. The hotel itself is beautiful and the staff extremely friendly. We would definitely stay here again if we are in Tirana.

The main hall/ entrance decor was very nice and had a lot of traditional pieces which made it authentic. They also offered parking, which can be a little difficult in Tirana. Location is very easy to get to and close to city centre or Blloku which is where main bars and clubs are located.

The staff in the hotel is very friendly and helpful (e.g. with finding a parking spot for our car). Breakfast was excellent. There is a nice swimming pool on the roof with a good (cheap) bar to relax in the evening. In short, it was a relaxing spot in what can be a very hectic city.

Cons: Just needed a small refresh of the rooms as you can still smell smoking from when you were able to smoke in rooms. Pool was more of a splash pool and I think it was mainy for decorative purposes then an actual pool.
