Pros: Individuality of rooms. The staff dealt with our issues with courtesy and efficiency, I think the low occupancy of the hotel enabled us to be moved to a lovely room. Food was amazing, spa was great and yoga every morning was perfect.

Cons: No option for twin beds in Sea View rooms. Our first room ( Cape View)was very dark and there were lots of steps within the room to and from the bed and bathroom. My friend slipped in the night and got a huge bruise on her bottom. There was no glass window by the bed, therefore, no where to view the sea in the comfort of the air con during humid and rainy times.

Every aspect , from the dedicated staffers, to your food (which is considered to be part of your healing), to the Ayurvedic herbs and pastes is well- thought out and dedicated toward you and your healing. Every day, yoga class & meditation is built into your schedule at no extra charge. The food is fresh and laden with prana ( life-force), much grown on premises or locally grown. Ayurvedic medicine is natural. Here at Somaltheerum, your senses are bathed in nature like the colors of the abundant exotic flowers, which are everywhere. The scent of the jasmine from bushes near my cottage permeates the air. And the birdsong is amazing: jungle birds salute the dawn outside of your cottage. Perhaps they are chanting to the Creator who imagined such magnificence in the beginning. Everything whispers Shanti (peace) to every aspect of my being: Body, Mind and Spirit. Namaste, Somaltheerum. Cons: Payment is to be done as soon as you check-in which is not a problem for many guests but the receptionist doesnt care at all to ask even to sit down and have a glass of water. After a tiresome journey if guests are not received well, then its very irritative. Hospitality is questionable!

Cons: When we arrived there was an issue with our room (not the one we booked) but after discussing with manager he changed us to another equivalent room. That was therefore a good alternative except that the room was close to reception and as so quite noisy. I must say that I did not really appreciate the manager making us feel guilty saying that because of the room change another couple was not able to go to their room.
