Beautiful accomodations but not accomodating.
While disappointed in the management staff, the service staff up front was great. Nice and helpful. Grounds and building were gorgeous. Easy walk to Arts Fest and town. Whiskers was a nice venue to relax with a cocktail.
Reserved a year in advance for this year's Arts Fest. Four girlfriends. With both elderly parents and young adult children issues, only booked rooms because the third party reservation site bragged that we would be able to cancel up to 24 hours ahead. Three weeks out it became apparent that our issues would make it very difficult to be away from family for that weekend. Called to cancel. Management would not budge from their 30-day cancel policy. (in the fine print on the confirmation) Third party even got involved. They would not budge. They were already sold out and easily could have re-rented those rooms. They would have had happy future alumni customers. We managed for 2 of us to go but 2 were out the money. Nice rooms but dark, fickle A/C sometimes worked and would then turn off, several bugs in bthrm, hot shower turns cold for periods of time.

Beautiful old hotel, but walked away thinking it s
Location, Location, Location. Right on campus, so if visiting Penn State, this is it !!! I've had small rooms and large rooms. This time I got lucky and got a nice large room. However, not nearly enough outlets available for guests' use.
Only one outlet accessible in room. It's apparent, lots of students work here, but they seem to be teaching mediocrity. Why isn't it being run like a Ritz Carlton. Teach Perfection and the best way to run a hotel !! I was supposed to be picked up at the airport by their shuttle, and apparently, the person taking my reservation never signed me up in the reservation book (or wherever he's supposed to put it). Also, given the wrong price of the dinner buffet (by Over $10/person).

Excellent!
Service was outstanding. Dinner in the restaurant was exquisite. Staff makes you feel at home. Great proximity to PSU venues and the airport. Complimentary shuttle service to local destinations is an excellent ammenity. Free apples for guests in the lobby!
There are no cons to staying here. It might be a bit pricey for some, but the value is excellent for the service and convenience provided at this location.
