I had a very disappointing and frustrating experience with Sixt at the Zurriola branch in San Sebastián. From the moment I arrived, the staff — particularly one lady at the counter — was extremely rude and unhelpful. Instead of assisting me, she blamed me for booking through a third-party agent, as if that somehow justified the poor service I was receiving. It was very clear that priority and better treatment were being given to customers who booked directly with Sixt. Despite receiving a confirmation for my booking, I was informed upon arrival that there was no vehicle available for me. Without any apology or accountability, I was redirected to another Sixt branch, only to face the exact same situation there — no car available. This not only disrupted my travel plans but caused a great deal of unnecessary stress. To make matters worse, I had to make numerous international calls to Sixt’s customer support, incurring significant roaming charges. Each call was time-consuming, and though I was repeatedly promised a compensation voucher for the inconvenience, I have yet to receive anything — even weeks later. Overall, the experience was unprofessional, disorganized, and costly. I expected a much higher standard of service from a company like Sixt, and I will seriously reconsider using them in the future. I hope Sixt addresses these systemic issues and improves both their customer service and booking reliability.Reviewed Jul 14 2025

We were treated grossly unfair. Upon arrival I told them I lost my drivers license. Told me they had to cancel my contract and rebook it for twice the price with my wife. A 649.00 rental turned into 1100.00 rental. Suggested they take me off the primary driver and substitute it for my wife . Told me they could not do it. Made a 5pm reservation. Office was closed at 5pm. Sixt refused to refund me at first, then tried to subject me to a $200 cancelation fee because of their mistake, which was almost the entire rental price. They refused to put a manager on the phone after the customer service agent said that was my only option. What a joke, never going back. Had to fight for an hour to get my refund, and was still out over $100 just in Uber fees to pick up the vehicle in the first place.Reviewed Jun 23 2025
