Pros:

Easy to pick up and return were fairly straightforward although the wait time to pick up was too long given there were very few other customers.

Cons:

They gave us a choice of two cars. One smelled terrible on the inside and the other desperately needed cleaning on the interior. There was a bunch of popcorn in the back seat and hand prints on the rear seat windows. We were not impressed. I mean you could see the debris before even opening the doors. Gross. And this is supposed to be a time of extra cleaning given the pandemic. May not use Alamo again.

Staff was courteous and the vehicle was well maintained.

Cons:

Picking up the vehicle at FLL was extremely slow. There were only three people in line at the desk but it took forever. Then we were sent outside to the booth and had to wait in line again. In total it took about an hour to pick up our car. Drop off was fine.

Pick up and drop off locations were different. Both staffs were excellent - friendly and offering to help with bags and even a ride home at the drop off location.

Cons:

Car specific instructions would help, especially when there is something unique (I was unfamiliar with the radio in the car. There was no tuning dial so I couldn't change channel easily. Other useful car specific tips: how to turn on headlights and wipers, how to open gas latch )

I reserved a mini van online after our flight was canceled and we decided to drive from FL to PA. When we arrived, they didn’t have anything that could fit 6 of us. Why did I get a confirmation from Enterprise if there was no car, leaving us stranded. ;(

When we went to get our car there were only 2 cars available a mustang and a Volkswagen passet. We had reservations for a full size car and the staff seemed unaware of our reservations . No one gave us directions out of the rental area and we wasted a lot of time trying to find our way out

The car was good and staff was friendly but we were charged more than expected and never received an answer when we questioned this. The amount quoted at the pick-up desk was slightly higher (about $10) than the quote. We planned to return the car with a fulll tank of gas but due to unexpected traffic we weren’t able to stop and were charged $48 (returned it with half of tank, charged for a full tank) and were charged an additional $36 for a recovery fee which we have no idea what this was for or why it was charged.

The one car I chose that was in the lot I was supposed to select from had a spare tire on, thankfully one of the attendants pointed that out so I had to take the only car left which was a 2 door Chevy Camaro- which wouldn’t have been my first choice. Also, the price of $79 was then I flared up to over $250 at the end of it all. Disappointing.

My experience with Avis Rental Cars at Fort Lauderdale Airport was disappointing. Despite making a reservation, I waited nearly an hour in line for check-in, which seemed excessive given the low number of customers. The staff aggressively pushed extra insurance coverage and were unpleasant when I declined. To make matters worse, the car I was initially given was parked in an aisle where returned vehicles were lined up, making it impossible to pull out. Despite requesting assistance from the staff and searching for the manager, it took an additional 30 minutes to locate and change my reservation to another car. Throughout all of this, the staff showed little concern and were unapologetic. It's frustrating that even with a reservation, it took nearly 1 hour and 30 minutes to leave the airport with my rental. This experience falls far short of expectations, and I won't be choosing Avis for future rentals.

Even with a reservation, I waited 2 hours to get my car. There was only one person working and everyone was pissed. I was in HELL. I only rented because my flight was cancelled. NEVER AVIS again. Enterprise all the way. Also way overpriced especially since it was SUCH a horrible experience. I plan on telling everyone I know to avoid AVIS.

Honestly my only complaint is that this particular vehicle had a faint but distinct smell of cigarettes most likely because of prev renter. If cigs, don't bother you then you gucci. If they could spray the car down with some neutralizing air freshener situation that'd be great but then you'd get ppl who have allergies complain about that, so you can't win. Eh, drive with the windows down? Haha.

Cons:

They gave away my car because they said I arrived more than an hour late than my reservation time. My flight was delayed so nothing I could do and the reservation terms did not say anywhere that my reservation would expire if I’m late. I had to wait three hours for someone else to return a similar car to rent.

Fuel milage of the diesel vehicle although that is not what I rented.

Cons:

First vehicle I had was full of mold. Irritated my eyes and throat so bad had to return it after an hour. Second identical 2014 Passat DIESEL was cleaner inside, no mold, but on second day every idiot light illuminated. I didn't have time to return it so just drove it that way. A rental car shouldn't be 5 years old with 40k miles on it. Never again Advantage, never again!

Reserved an SUV. None available when we arrived. Gave us a van with a remote key that didn’t work (didn’t find out until after we left)and low tire pressure. Had to return the next day and take 2 hours from our vacation plans to swap out the vehicle. Not happy with the entire experience.

My reservation was canceled because it was scheduled for 8am and I did arrive until 5pm. Apparently, there is a 4 hour time limit to the reservation. I wish that policy had been more explicit. I ended having to take a Lyft for a 2 hour ride.

Easy check in and check out process. They will ask you if you want to upgrade your vehicle, SunPass for tolls, extra insurance, ect. We ended up upgrading to a bigger vehicle for $45 more for the week. And declined additional add ons. It was a good check in and check out process and will likely rent from them again. It is an additional $12/day for an additional driver.

Car was great, pickup counter was nice and quick. We did get a minivan when we wanted a smaller suv and the hidden fees are insane. Went in thinking I was renting a car for $150ish for 2 Days and it was over $300 plus a 300 deposit you get back but still over $600 was charged to my car when I was expecting a lot less. Now it’s going to take days to get the deposit back.

Fox uses deceptive pricing to make their rental cars seem cheaper than other major rental agencies. I rented from fox thinking I was getting a great deal, at the pickup counter the fox representative used scare tactics to get me to buy this extra rental insurance. I didn’t realize at the time my current auto insurance does in fact cover rental vehicles. This unnecessary insurance cost $28.99 per day, there was also a multitude of BS small charges and fees that jacked the price up to about the same as other rental car companies. The bottom line Fox has decent cars but their pricing is deceptive.

Lousy. I got there at my pick up time and there were 6 people ahead of me but only one rep to handle the transaction. He kept going over stories with the client for over 10 minutes and not caring about anyone else. I went next door to ACE and was taken care of in 5 minutes.

When we arrived they had told me the vehicle we requested wasn’t available. They had a bigger vehicle as an upgrade. But it wasn’t a free upgrade. They charged us the full rate upgrade charge. It was 2am. They knew we had no other option and couldn’t really negotiate. I asked them for 20 mins to figure it out but they just said there’s nothing they could do and overcharged us.

After traversing the airport getting the bus and making it to the site I was disappointed to find that they had cancelled my reservation for being late and they tried to up sell me a vehicle and when I refused the price i did the journey in reverse back to the airport to rent a car. Not happy. I booked it for the price and was willing to do the journey for the value. I was helping a friend through surgery and cost was an issue. Feel really cheated.

They tried to triple the price when picking up the car. Though advertised as free unlimited miles they were going to charge for mileage. They insisted we use their insurance, which would add more to the original price. From $76 for two days to $120 per day. When ask to cancel they said ok, but never cancelled the reservation. Luckily I was still able to cancel via kayak app.

Communicate with staff was fluid. Car was clean and in good condition. Pick up location was not clear but was able to get in touch with staff easily to adjust. Drop off to airport was well organized, punctual. Advice: bring a copy of your own insurance policy, otherwise they will want/pressure you to buy from them. Overall satisfied.

Car rental agency requires everyone to purchase insurance. I had collision included on my credit card- a waiver from the card company is required. This took me about 45 mins to obtain. For liability insurance- Only a handful of insurance companies are accepted and they’re all US based insurers.. Strange As I’ve never had that issue with other companies in the US coming from Canada. Nice single happy camper observed leaving the rental counter.

Cons:

We never got our rental car. No one ever picked us up from the shuttle stop. We waited and waited and tried calling every number we could find and no one ever even answered the phone. Eventually we gave up and walked to Budget and waited in line to pay for a very expensive last-minute car rental. It was a nightmare. I will never again rent a car from a company I’ve never heard of.

Pros:

On pick up the agent wasn't happy I wasn't going to purchase additional options and became short with me. I have my own sunpass to avoid the cost and he threatened me it would cost $25 each time I went through the toll plaza which is incorrect, as I've rented many times from various companies with my sunpass and have had no problems.

I'll never go back to them. All well-known rental car companies typically ask who your insurance company is and you tell them and thats that. In my case Travelllers. This was not enough. They wanted proof, so I called my insurance company and they emailed me my insurance card. This was still not enough either, they wanted the declarations page, so I called again and had that e-mailed which worked. Super inconvenient and the guy behind the counter had the personality of a brick, his English was poor, spoke so fast one could not understand what he was saying and he did not really care about making the experience a pleasant one. I overheard the clients at the counter next to me mention the words, Mickey Mouse company, so I was not the only one disapproving of renting here. Car was ok for the money and clean enough. I wanted to extend and called both numbers on their contract. all 4 times I tried I was placed on hold, and the call was dropped within 5 seconds of being placed on hold, as if it was intentional. So I emailed and asked if an extension was possible at the same rate I had of $15.00 per day. They came back with $50.00 per day and I decided to return the car. I guess that's their prerogative but I chose to return the car and be done with them rather than extend. I'll never use these guys again and the impression I got was that they did not care about future happy clients at all

The rental location is not at the airport, so you need to take 2 different shuttles to get the car. The shuttle that takes you from the rental car center at FLL to the actual rental company location is unmarked and only shows up maybe every 30 min. When you arrive, the process to rent the car is difficult and they require proof of insurance yet they don’t tell you this in advance. Also, there is no local contact phone number for the company. The only number provided is an international number. Overall, a terrible experience.
