A disappointing stay. Much of it is a bit tired, and the staff were polite and ‘friendly’ in a mechanistic way. Some of the waiters were appalling, particularly at breakfast, which was laboriously poor. The food was no better than an average pub’s Sunday meal , but at three times the price. Really, everything about the place was sadly inadequate - and certainly not what is four star. Would not return and can’t recommend.
Increasingly, almost everything.
The location was perfect, the breakfast was excellent, the staff were really friendly and helpful. The room was spotlessly clean and the bed was very comfortable. It was Christmas and the decorations were beautiful. The facilities in their sister hotel which had Spa, Swimming pool, and putting green were available if we had had time to use them!
Having to have dinner in the Victoria Hotel. Unfortunately the Belmont had a big function in their dining room, and although they kindly chauffeured us to the Victoria (even though it wasn't far) and the food was okay there, we didn't think much of the Victoria's restaurant service - although, to be fair, they did compensate with a reduction in the bill after my husband complained.
Plenty of friendly staff. Room was of good size with a view one a cricket pitch. Very comfy lounge and restaurant was excellent. Location could not have been better only a short stroll from the town centre. (Plenty of free parking as well!)
Having to go home!
Convenient to The Victoria
The staff were super friendly and the little extra touches in the room were lovely. The bed was comfy and room spacious. I’d definitely stay here again if we were in area!
