Service was great, rooms were clean and comfortable. Very relaxing and comfortable stay. I enjoyed the location, not too far from Tybee Beach.
The breakfast wasn’t a buffet due to COVID-19, and they were renovating the halls on the floor that we stayed on.
Pool not heated, premises not clean
Hotel would be good for a business traveler on a budget. It’s close to I-95 and walking distance to a few chain restaurants. And many business travelers might not be as concerned with the amenities issues.
Specifically chose this hotel because it claimed to have a heated indoor swimming pool. It was filthy and ice cold. We notified management and basically nothing was done about it. But had that been the only maintenance issue, I would have offered a better rating. While the staff were nice, they are not empowered to make any decisions/take any action to provide quality customer service. Unless head managers want to work 24/7/365, they need to start enabling/encouraging autonomy. Overall, this was the least enjoyable stay I’ve had at a Marriott hotel in ages.
Liked hotel so much on my way north that I booked it on my return trip south. THat says it all.
