Pros: Beautiful property
Cons: Unprofessional staff, spa closed, room (and bathroom) felt old and dingy.

Pros: loved the grounds
Cons: shower remodel

Pros: The decor was pleasant
Cons: The place was advertised and appeared very high end. Boasting a recent multimillion dollar renovation. But the original single pane sliding glass door leaked and made that half of the room cold. Not that you could really tell because the heater hardly worked. Despite turning it up to 90, only like warm air came out. All the lights are on motion/timers. So they go off al the one. There's about a 1 inch gap at the bottom of the door to the main hall and no privacy on the porch area st all. The toilet was only surface cleaned and there's no microwave. and they tacked on a $39 "hotel fee" which I had no idea about. It couldn't have been bad for $100 a night room, with a token pastry and oatmeal type breakfast. But for over $200, and no breakfast.... oh and to order in... they wanted $10 for a yogurt parfait (now of course I didn't get one, so maybe they're amazing but for that price who would) and charge a 23% gratuity (really?!?!?) and a $10 delivery fee. So it would have been $23 for some yogurt and granola!!!

Pros: The staff was guest and helpful, the property and facilities were nice. They upgraded us upon arrival. It was quite, peaceful and beautiful even with a wedding and other events happening.
Cons: The only thing that lacked was the ability to get ice in the building, it would have been nice to have a microwave, and there wasn't a guest book that told about all of the amenities and where to access them.

Cons: The rooms were out dated and you could hear everything from the rooms next to you to the rooms above you...honestly a super 8 motel probably has better sound proofing...The food was over priced and the pool was so dirty. I would never stay at this hotel again even if it was free.

Pros: Check in was easy, staff was pleasant, room was quite spacious, the view from the restaurant and patio area was amazing. The free use of the spa and sauna was awesome. The pool area and hot tub was also nice. Couldn't have asked for a better weekend stay. Definitely coming back to visit again.
Cons: Only one thing, but it was corrected. There was a pool BBQ set up for the Saturday we were there. They had a problem with the grill, which took a while to get our burgers. Upon checkout, Rylie adjusted our final bill to make up for our delay with the food. This moment of gratitude by Rylie made it a trip to remember. Thank you Rylie! Little things like this go a long way. You made us want to come back soon!

Pros: Surroundings are beautiful.
Cons: Facilities and decor are outdated and the place is understaffed. I was traveling with a group and they overbooked so some guests had to be relocated to another hotel. Suites are very spacious but room was musty and I had an allergic reaction (dust mites? molds?) and so didn't sleep well. Place needs some serious updating.

Pros: The Chaminade setting is fabulous. It is nestled in the mountains that overlook forest and the beautiful Monterey Bay. There are patios with tables that overlook these views. The breakfast buffet was a good value ($15-18) for the selections offered, especially considering the dining area overlooked both forest and ocean.
Cons: There was an additional $25 per night resort fee required at check in, in addition to the price I paid through Kayak. I thought the resort fee was included in the listed Kayak price. Also, the rooms are basic, with no safe, microwave, or mini fridge.

Cons: The hidden resort fees that I was obligated to pay even though I did not use any of the amenities aside from the WiFi.

Pros: The location and landscaping was really nice. The flowers around the property were really beautiful. The fitness center and nature walks are pleasant. The pool and cabanas were also pleasant for lounging. The reception area was tastefully arranged. The free coffee and tea in the gym lounge was also great.
Cons: The interior decor of the room left much to be desired. The room felt dark and depressing, and the decor was really hideous and not welcoming. The signage around the property was also poor, so when I had a guest come to visit me, it took several minutes of providing directions before my guest was able to find my room. A basic sign saying "Rooms 700-1000 --->" would be incredibly helpful on such a large and sprawling property. The coffee provided in the Sunset restaurant was dreadful - the acrid, burnt taste could not be masked even with generous amounts of cream and sugar. Please fix this!

Pros: Very pretty and peaceful setting. The staff is very professional and attentive. The location is perfect for my purpose, which was family business and staying out of the beach/resort fray closer to the water.
Cons: No in-room coffee. You have to slog up to the separate building where the registration desk is located to get it. Form doesn't follow function with the new décor. Bedside lights shine straight into the face and aren't adjustable. The faux abacus headboard isn't comfortable to lean against. The look was probably a good idea on paper, but that's pretty much where it stops.
