Pros: The location of the property is great, close to many attraction in the black forest. The room is big and very clean with a wonderful view. The bed is very comfortable and the host is very nice and kind.
Pros: We found this accommodation very clean and comfortable. Host was very friendly and helpful. Gave us tips to visit around village & surrounding area. Breakfast very adequate. Parking for vehicle. Good location walking distance into village to restaurants and bars. Very pretty village. Close to Frieburg. Can recommend this accommodation.
Pros: The Location was fantastic, the owners were welcoming, very friendly and very easy going. They were happy to let us get on with our holiday but always available to help if needed We were in control of our own heating which we haven't always had. Electric shutters were brilliant. Never ran out of hot water. Trusted to help yourself to wine or beer and pay at the end of the stay. The bakery, local wine shop and butcher within walking distance were a bonus.
Cons: Not much at all really....maybe a pack of cards or similar for evening entertainment would have been handy? We could of course have bought some but take some along if you think you'll be needing them - same with DVDs as the owners would struggle to cater for all the different languages...

Pros: It had been feeling very well looked after. The place itself had 13 generations of family history with knowing the last one running the business knows exactly what needs to be done.
Cons: There had been nothing we did not like. It had exceeded our expectation indeed.
Pros: tradition and modern well blended, excellent regional food. The spa area and massage was a treat. Only 15 miles from Freiburg and at the beginning of the glottertal a gorgeous valley leading into the high black forest with quaint villages like St Peter and St Margen. Lake Titi a smal glacier lake is not very far.
Cons: all is well
Pros: More than attention to detail!!. Wonderful ambience. Great food and proper German welcome with waitress service in traditional black forest costume. Lovely valley walks toom After many times staying as guests, it still cannot be faulted. Very well done on the part of the owners Herr und Frau Kunz and team.
Cons: The whole place is charming. No faults.
Pros: the sauna and the dwimming pool area.excellent .super breakfast and excellent restauirant
Cons: poor wifi. Still nice hotel
Pros: We have been coming to this hotel for more than 10 years. What more do we need to say!

Featured amenities include complimentary newspapers in the lobby, multilingual staff, and luggage storage. Free self parking is available onsite.
Pros: Great breakfast clean
Cons: Dated rooms staff banging in cupboards out side room late at night Rude staff In restaurant where we left before eating
Pros: Dinner and breakfast. Excellent. Room comfortable and clean. Very good value for money. Located in beautiful country side.
Pros: Nice location - free public transport - nature & Kandel
Pros: Nice and clean hotel, parts are in typical Black Forest architecture. Busy street in front, but quiet at night. Had a very nice, large room (nr. 9) with 2 balconies, a sitting corner, large TV screen and plenty of cabinets. One of the terraces is above a lovely little river. Bottle of water offered free of charge. Good quality beds. The surroundings of the hotel are excellent for walking.
Cons: Wifi connection was not always optimal (2nd floor). Breakfast is very good and complete, however the buffet tables are small and food plates somewhat crammed together, so you need to pay attention that things are not falling on the ground (which happened to me).....
Pros: It is many years we go to this hotel. We feel at home and there is a family feeling. Restaurant is very good and cosy.
Pros: Fabulous breakfast. Next to a gurgling creek. Great location for day trips around the Black Forest.

Pros: Absolutely fantastic hotel. Great facilities and dining on the terrace was spectacular. Very friendly staff and they were always there to help. Pretty easy to get in to Freiberg on public transport, but why do that when you're in such a setting!
Cons: It might have been nice to have a fridge in the room to keep drink cold on hot days, but that was only a minor inconvenience. Apart from that everything was perfect!
Pros: Location was very good and the property was old but quite well maintained.
Cons: Breakfast was standard, not really exceptional. They culd easily improve by putting a few special nice items on the bufe. The dinner was traditional, but again, not the first choice in the area. They could improve the quality of the salad bar and food in general.
Pros: The facilities were nice and the hotel was clean. Breakfast was really good !
Cons: The staff had no customer service and were not that friendly and accommodating. Everything was too much for them and it felt like we were in the way.
Pros: - Nice balcony - clean room with good decore - Average breakfast - friendly staff
Pros: Facilities were fantastic. Particularly the pool and restaurant for both dinner and breakfast.
Cons: It is close to the road so can be a lot of noise through the night.
Pros: Staff are very kind and welcoming and always there for you when you need anything. Room is large and clean. Never had any issue with parking. Swimming Pool and Sauna are available on site which is a great added value . I was positively surprised by the quality of breakfast and dinner. Overall good value for money
Cons: Swimming pool could be warmer and it will be good if someone can check regulary and ensure that there are towels available. Also will be very nice to have coffee machine/ kettle in the room
Located in Glottertal, Schwarzwaldgasthaus Zum goldenen Engel is within a 15-minute drive of Elztalmuseum and Max Planck Institute of Immunobiology and Epigenetics. The front desk is staffed during limited hours. Free self parking is available onsite.
Pros: The room is very clean, and the bed is comfortable. Excellent view from the balcony. The food in the restaurant is super!
Pros: A very nice place to spend a night (or a couple of them) in the Schwarzwald region. We liked the area, spent an evening walking around and enjoying the view. The restaurant is closed on Wednesday, but we knew it prior the arrival, so it was not a problem for us, moreover there are some places nearby that are open. The room was very spacious and clean. The breakfast was yummy!
Cons: The menu was not available in English
Pros: Gorgeous small inn with a fantastic restaurant for dinner with elegant takes on traditional food. Room was very comfortable with a small bathroom. Set right next to the church (though the bells didn't bother us) and some lovely walking paths for exploring the countryside. My toddler especially loved the horses next door. Breakfast was a lovely spread as well. Easy parking available as well. We liked the wine tasting room down the road as well (had a kids play area).

Featured amenities include complimentary newspapers in the lobby, dry cleaning/laundry services, and luggage storage. A roundtrip airport shuttle is provided for a surcharge (available 24 hours), and free self parking is available onsite.
Pros: Breakfast selection was basic but the Christmas Dinner was excellent!! Very old building, beautifully decorated dinning rooms and tables, very festive atmosphere. Our room was cosy, slightly on the small side but we were happy with it. Staff was very friendly and very helpful. Parking could be a problem outside holiday times, but I'm sure the owners would be very willing to help. Sauna facilities were immaculate.
Cons: This is just for our room: Shower head broken, bathroom fan not working (no window in the bathroom), mattresses had no support, very soft (my husband has a sore back after complaining that he was rolling out of bed all night long). 7 out of 10 for cleanliness.
Pros: We loved everything at the hotel and restaurant. We arrived kind of late and they were helpful with our luggage. Our room was beautiful and very cozy! Dinner was really good too. You can’t go wrong with this hotel and restaurant!
Cons: Parking was a little tough. But it worked out.
Pros: Staff was friendly, room was clean, location was convenient to get to places on the area.
Cons: When we arrived in the evening we could not get a meal at the venue but had to look for other places. Getting a meal in the evening seems hard without reservation, which is something I have never had in any hotel before. There should always be capacity to serve hotel guests.
Pros: the breakfast. the sauna and its rest area. the restaurant's absutely amazing dinner menu.
Pros: Friendly beautiful staff, great location, comfortable beds, sauna area and absolutely amazing food in the restaurant.
Cons: Nothing. Yes there is no lift but we were greeted by the staff whom were happy to assist with our bags.
Pros: The room was well decorated and was light and airy . The view from the balcony was great.

Elegant rooms with wooden panelling await at the Hotel Schwarzenbergs Traube. A private bathroom with hairdryer is provided in each room. Pros: Very cute and friendly staff. Charming hotel and beautiful nature.
Pros: Room, breakfast, location
Cons: Everything is great
Pros: The hotel combines modern with traditional and is exceptionally clean and comfortable. You are welcomed warmly and the staff are extremely helpful. There is free on site parking and WiFi. Breakfast (included) is delicious and caters for everyone.
Cons: The only thing that I could think would improve the room would be a basket for your razor and shampoo in the shower.
Pros: The hotel is situated in the middle of Glottertal.
Cons: Its time for changing doors and furniture in the rooms
Pros: the place was charming...breakfast was great...typical German fare...we asked for eggs and they prepared them ..the restaurant was lovely...we did not eat there because we were visiting friends in the area...menu looked very good...closed at 800pm so if you wanted anything after that you were out of luck....probably if you asked you could have gotten something...we loved our stay there.....
Cons: nothing...everything was very nice
Pros: The location within the village, the breakfast, the comfortable and large room
Cons: The stay was overall very good but one thing, which I would consider a mistake, struck us : Breakfast is served until 10 AM. We were enjoying it, planning for the day, when my partner asked the waitress who was passing by for a second coffee. The waitress frowned without saying anything, then the manager came to our table to lecture us :), saying that they normally do not serve coffee after 10 AM, that we should have ordered before this deadline, that exceptionally they will give us one etc.. It was then (I checked my phone) exactly 10:08 AM... There was no clock in the restaurant to let us know about the time it was ; and the tone of this lecture is definitely not what 4* hotel customers would expect : it was anything but friendly or caring. Later I realized that I have never experienced this in 4* hotels (and I have stayed at many both professionally and personally), and I figured out why : in such hotels, when service is about to close, waiters are usually going from table to table to let customers know and ask if they would like to get a last item/order. In our case, no one let us know, and when my partner asked for a coffee, there was no sign that the service was about to close. It may look like a small thing, but such a mistake, especially coming from a manager ( ! ), is the small detail that can make a great stay looking average. Maybe this is a reflection of germanic emphasis on being on time, but then the staff should urgently learn about inclusive hospitality :).
Pros: Very nice hotel. Clean, friendly staff and a great breakfast.
Pros: It was very clean and bedrooms and bathroom comfortable. Restauranr food was delicious.
Cons: The restaurant closes at 8.00 pm, but the staff was really nice and let us order foid at 8.30

Pros: Great hosts, great breakfast, super clean and very comfortable
Cons: You could hear a lot of what was happening in the room next to ours

Cons: WiFi sometimes on and off, had to keep answering questions to reconnect.

Pros: Hotel was beautiful and the staff was very nice, specially the lady who checked us in the evening. Breakfast was great and the pool was a great bonus. Room was big enough for 2 adults and 2 kids. Surrounding village is beautiful and has nice restaurants.
Cons: We would have needed ac or even fan, because it was hard to sleep with indoor temperature around 30 celsius.
Cons: Great place to stay with a family. Lovely pool with amazing views. Good point for local walks.
Pros: Room, restaurant, surroundings.
Pros: Everything. It is a great Hotel in a great place. One of my preferred places in Germany. Great restaurant on site, Nice Wine Bar, many other restaurants within walking distance, but you no not need them. The Hotel offers half or full pension. Great breakfast buffet. The best place to start exploring the Black Forest driving, walking or hiking.
Cons: Too often they were sold out, no rooms available.
Pros: they have a swimming pool with beautiful view breakfast is good room is clean reception is friendly
Cons: my room is on the 2nd floor and the restaurant/bar is downstairs. many people were drinking and talking in the evening so it is noisy when I sit in the balcony
Pros: very good breakfast. pool. overall cleanliness.
Cons: Pillows need to be replaced they are very very soft and offer no support at all. there was an issue with emptying the trash bins in the room (were not emptied at least twice over a 7 day period) and replacing the bags in them (trash bins were left without bags about 1/2 of the days we were there). rooms are very hot and no air-conditioning - very limited availability of fans.
