Pros (+) We loved the staff , restaurant , feel & vibe of the hotel. Older yes , but clean and safe and located in the heart of Old downtown San Jose. Lots of great shops to hunt for treasures , great Mexican artifacts , many souvenir shops with lots of choices for meals or places to hang out.
Cons (-) We didn't have any strong dislikes at all.

Pros (+) I stayed at the Tropicana on 12/10/16 after a week long yoga retreat at another resort. I selected the Tropicana based on the proximity to local flavor and the reviews. The Tropicana did not disappoint. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The room was a good value for the price. The hotel was also within walking distance to lots of restaurants and shopping.
