Quite and peacefull. Stuff was very helpfull and friendly ...
The staff were excellent. They helped us reserve great restaurants nearby and were happy to help with anything we needed. The pool is nice and has plenty of beds. The location is very picturesque, we walked through the farm to the etruscan tomb and to the small village nearby. The rooms are spacious and the whole place feels like a home. The wine made on the estate is great!
Friendly staff and helpful.
I found a caterpillar in my bed - which freaked me out (clearly not the fault of the property). I thought the pool area can do with some revamp. The heaters were only for two hours in the evening and morning (at the time we stayed there the temperature in the area was very cold so slightly annoying that the property was not warm throughout the day and night).
Loved Carmela(the cook and cleaner for this property for 23yrs. She taught me how to make some beautiful desserts down in the kitchen)it’s a very peaceful place-non like I had experienced before:)
The location is wonderful, quietly set off the road. The small hamlet ("borghetto" means just that in Italian), consists of a few stone and brick buildings surrounded by greenery, on the lovely hills a few miles from the town of San Casciano. There is even an Etruscan tomb sits on top of a small hill, and the walk to it from the b&b is delightful, with olives groves to the left and vineyards to the right. The lady who greeted us was friendly and welcoming, and so was the other lady who served us breakfast. The style of the rooms is charming.
The whole place absolutely needs a serious investment by the owners. The old furniture can be charming, but the chairs in our rooms were in a very sorry state. More seriously, because it affected our sleep, ruining our nights, the mattresses were old and the pillows extremely uncomfortable. The few towels in the bathroom were old and worn out, there was dust on the shelves and on the floors. Another huge drawback, and a frankly unacceptable one, is there is no internet in the rooms. The breakfast was meagre, with no croissants and no trace of the local products you would expect in a place like this.
This farmhouse is set in the Chianti hills, just 20 km from the centre of Florence and 50 minutes from Siena. It offers rustic-style rooms and a garden with olive trees, roses and jasmines. Breakfast at Il Borghetto Country Inn includes local products and homemade cakes, and is served in the garden. Traditional Tuscan cuisine is available on request at lunch and dinner, accompanied by local wines. Set in a 30 hectare estate, the farmhouse produces and sells its own extra-virgin olive oil and red wines. Staff organise wine and olive oil-tasting tours. Bike excursions, horseback riding, cookery courses and hot air balloon flights, can be booked at reception. The family-run Il Borghetto is in San Casciano Val di Pesa, 2.5 km from the centre of Montefiridolfi. The 7th-century Etruscan Tomb of the Archer is just a few minutes' walk away.
