B&B Adelberga - Salerno - Building

9,1 Excellent (95 reviews)
Overview Reviews
With a stay at B&B Adelberga in Salerno (Historical Downtown Salerno), you'll be steps from Complex of San Pietro a Corte and Church of San Giorgio.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: A wonderful place and very friendly and helpful host.
8,3 Excellent
Pros: The owner is so kind and helpful. He was a very good person.
8,8 Excellent
Pros: Location is about 20 minutes walk from Salerno station, costs Euro 11 for taxi. It's in the heart of the shopping areas and close to ferry port and some tourists spots. Room was made up and cleaned daily. Breakfast was standard fare with bread, yogurt, fruit, coffee, some cold meat. You'll need to ask host for anything specific - butter, salt/pepper. Eggs were given on two days. Host provided maps and directions as well as some info on tourist spots but you should go to the tourist information center for current events/fares/schedules of ferries etc. Host assisted in getting us our early morning taxi ride when leaving. It's a safe place so long as one remembers the rules to lock up.
Cons: The wifi was slow and hard to connect inside room. One had to come out at close range to the wifi router for better connectivity. It would be helpful for the host to get a wifi extender and higher speed.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Everything lovely rooms. Location. And the host.
Cons: Nothing all good
10,0 Excellent
Pros: The property was in an excellent location and was as advertised. Ludovico was an excellent host - very personable, helpful and hospitable. He was helpful in arranging transportation and offered good suggestions.
7,9 Good
Pros: Good breakfasts. Additional sitting room. Friendly and helpful owner
8,3 Excellent
Pros: The host was very friendly and helpful, yet a bit tiresome. The location was nice, the apartment was clean and good looking.
Cons: We didn't like the fact that were more guests in the same apartment and we were not informed about it.
9,2 Excellent
Pros: Thanks to the owner of the B&B, I had a very good experience in Salerno. He is very nice, and always ready to help. Good breakfast. He kindly offered me a cup of espresso.
Cons: Room is a bit dark and old.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Great spot. Clean, comfortable contomporary room with plenty of space. Good bed, good bathroom and nice little balcony. Owner was courteous, freindly and helpful plus speaks English well if needed.

10,0 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast on the terrace
9,6 Excellent
Pros: Carmen provided home made breakfast every morning and it was delicious! She was informative about restaurants near by
Cons: We struggled to find the accomodation, maybe having clear instructions on how to get there when booking could be helpful.
8,3 Excellent
Pros: Great place with amazing view from the roof terrace. Room was very comfortable and clean with enough storage options and nice bathroom. We enjoyed the breakfast with some freshly baked pastry and fruit.
Cons: Be aware that getting to this place is pretty stressful if you're not used to Italian way of driving. Directions on google maps don't work here as well. I'm not sure it's polissible to get here by public transport as well.
8,8 Excellent
Pros: Quite location with parking
9,6 Excellent
Pros: Amazing views from the terrace, the owner Carmen is kind and helpful. Very delicious breakfast.
Cons: The road leading to the location is narrow, so it's better to have a small car:)

9,0 Excellent
Pros: We didn't want to drive in Italy so the location of the hotel was important for us so we could make the most of our stay. This hotel has an excellent location .. across from the train station and bus terminal. Also it is 5 mins walk to the port for ferry connections to the Amalfi coast & Capri. Our room looked out onto the main square in front of the train station but there was no issue with noise even though it was busy outside most evenings. The room was comfortable , clean & had air-conditioning as well as a ceiling fan. Hotel is located on the main street so great for boutique shopping and some very nice restaurants nearby. Breakfast was excellent - cold cuts , fresh crusty rolls, juice, coffee, cereal, yoghurt, sweet pastries, croissants, boiled eggs, fruit. Staff were very helpful & friendly. Great stay...
10,0 Excellent
Pros: This was the best hotel during our stay in Italy in July 2019. Very close to the railway station. Like less than 100 meters. Not far from the port from where the ferries leave for Amalfi and Positano. 10 minutes drive / 2.5 Kms from the port from where ferries leave for Capri Islands. Breakfast was amazing. Staff was very helpful and polite. Rooms sizes were good - could easily move around and were not cramped. Definitely recommended.
Cons: Nothing that I can think of.
9,0 Excellent
Pros: Staff
Cons: Not much for the price.
6,0 Good
Pros: It's centrally located to the Salerno train station and Salerno port to the amalfi coast. You use this hotel to simply drop off your luggage, sleep and showrrz
Cons: Hotel wifi is non existent. The interior could use a new paint job and carpet. It's an older hotel. Don't expect luxury.
6,0 Good
Pros: I've been to this hotel twice already. It's a good location to simply sleep and shower. Very basic but clean. Walking distance to port.
Cons: The hotel needs to upgrade its wifi service. It's non existent. You can only pick up the signal in the lobby.
9,7 Excellent
Pros: Great location - very close to the train station and town center.
Cons: Parking in the area is very expensive - take the train if possible
8,0 Excellent
Pros: When I arrived to the room it was a perfect temperature and though there is no bell boy, one of the workers was kind enough to take my luggage to my room, as the lift was quite small. I was very surprised to find a box of chocolate left for me as it was my birthday ( I mentioned it when I called them as I did not go to town to celebrate, so they were very kind). The facility itself has no restaurant or bar on site, but the location is wonderful, few minutes from the railroad station, steps from the sea and just on the corner of the pedestrian area where there is plenty of food and lots of mid to higher end shopping for everything, as well as small eateries. Great for who wants to travel light and buy new clothes :) as well as fun for window watching. Also convenient for those who want to arrange one day bus tour to the Amalfi Coast or even walk to the old town (it's worth it) and see the old Duomo. The owners of the Tabacchi store at the railroad station seemed to be very knowledgable as far as what tickets to get. I realized that Salerno can be very windy, so it is a good idea to bring along a scarf of sort.
Cons: Minus for noise and lack of personnel. Also, the breakfast wasn't the greatest. Just across the street I found a wonderful coffee place with fresh pastries that would have been much better. The staff did not seem very informed about amenities in the areas, but I ended up finding a Spanish restaurant and had a great burger (was really missing it!). The bed was comfortable, but nothings special. The noise from the street was noticeable, but it was over by 8 or 9 pm. The room was large enough, but no real work table. I had to make sure to ask for a coffe/tea maker prior to arrival, as they did not have one and the fridge was poorly stocked. There is a little grocery store in the pedestrian strip where one can buy milk or wine, bread and everything else needed for a sandwich and more should they want to take something to eat in the room as the hotel does not provide food service. Breakfast can be ordered in the room the night before. There is no cable tv, for the solo travelers who prefer to stay in at night. Just enjoy your free wifi.
6,7 Good
Pros: Good service and very clean Very close to station and shops
Cons: Room very small and bed uncomfortable.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast was very good and the hotel's location across from the train station was excellent. The bus station and ferry port were very nearby also. The hotel was very modern, clean and newly redecorated. Outside the hotel entrance is a pedestrian-only street with stores and restaurants. It was wonderful.
Cons: Nothing. Everything was great.

Pros: Marco is a great host, friendly and helpful
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Our room was big, clean and nicely decorated. Marko was super friendly and gave us lots if travelling advice. Other members of staff were also very friendly. Breakfast was typically Italian. There was a parking spot directly in front of the guesthouse. The location is perfect. Would definitely return and highly recommend.
9,6 Excellent
Pros: Marco and his group were wonderful on all counts and helped beyond our stay there with advice on next leg of our trip.
8,0 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast was excellent in choice and freshness.
Cons: The room was a bit tight.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: This a lovely family owned b&b. Ten minutes walk from the harbour or train station with luggage. On arrival checked in by friendly staff, who made us fresh coffee served in a lovely inner courtyard. The room was clean, air conditioned and freshly renovated, with a large bathroom. It is located on the beach. It is a warm and welcoming place with that family touch. Will stay again.
Cons: Nil
8,3 Excellent
Pros: Very beautiful accommodation very comfortable with friendly staff right on beach
Cons: Booked balcony & was not available on arrival. Problem with shower.
8,0 Excellent
Pros: The room is a little small, like the majority in older European areas. But very clean and with good closet area. But the great thing is how the owner, Marco goes to any extent to make you feel comfortable. When we arrived there wasn't a place close to eat and we did not wanted to start driving. He did something totally unexpected...he cooked a dinner for us!!! And a very special one. Mr Marco..."you are unique"
Cons: Maybe the air conditioning
10,0 Excellent
Pros: 14 Leoni was in a fabulous location right on the beach and just a short walk from the train and the town. The facilities were fantastic. Comfortable, clean, colourful and inviting. Marco, the owner and host is very friendly and welcoming. He made us feel right at home and was very helpful with tips of what to see. We just loved our stay and we’re sad to leave!

8,5 Excellent
Pros: I like how much information was provided regarding tours and transportation in the area. Having a shuttle to take you to the center of town was great and the drivers were all nice. Breakfast in the morning was a plus.
Cons: The first night, a sliding door that separated two sides of my room got stuck, locking me in from the exit. It took a lot to get the door out and I had to change rooms. Then the sheets in the new room had been washed in detergent with a strong scent (which was a first for me regarding hotels) that made me nauseated. I couldn't sleep in the bed. I was given a bottle of champagne for the troubles, but I felt a refund on that night would have been much more appropriate given it was terrible all around. Also, the lounge restaurant menu leaves a lot to be desired. It doesn't change for lunch and dinner. Also, they charge you 3 euros for the cover that was on the table during the free breakfast. When I was asked if I wanted water, I wasn't told that I was buying a whole bottle of it for 3,50 euros. Additionally, everywhere else I ate for prices like that, they served some small dessert-like snack after the meal and offered limoncello at no extra charge. Here, nothing. I ate at a expensive restaurant in Le Sirenuse and didn't pay for the cloth covering the table. I learned why I didn't see people eating there for dinner. While I liked the hotel in general and the rest of my stay, I wouldn't stay there again if I go back to the Amalfi Coast, which I plan to do in a couple of years.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: This was my favorite stay on the Amalfi. It's a great place to relax and still be able to do day trips if you have a car. The customer service is outstanding, the breakfast is great, and the beds are really comfortable. Enjoy!
Cons: Nothing!
10,0 Excellent
Pros: The area was very quiet and close to the center
Cons: When I want to walk to the centre the sidewalk isn’t good for walking
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Friendly welcome, pleasant efficient stall, comfortable room.
Cons: No complaints.
6,3 Good
Pros: The shuttle bus that was laid on by the hotel was very helpful. The room was spacious.
Cons: Booked with the opinion that there was a hot tub on the balcony, this turned out to be completely freezing cold. The food was extremely over priced for very average food. When I made a complaint about the hot tub it was stated that they would look into it with management they never did. I paid extra for this facility and was un impressed.
7,1 Good
Pros: Our room was very spacious and clean. We had a bath and a shower, with the room equipped with everything we needed. We enjoyed having our own little jacuzzi pool and deck chairs outside which we were able to relax at when we had days off from touring. This hotel is definitely for couples that want relaxation as the position is quite secluded.
Cons: The menu is quite limited and for us, we stayed for 7 nights and 8 days. In terms of 5 star dining, personally some of the dishes don’t deliver on the 5 star rating.

Pros: Lovely coffee and great view. This is a place that allows to walk down to the beach.
Cons: General degration of the property and
8,0 Excellent
Pros: The hotel is situated on stunning cliff overlooking the Bay of Salerno. The room and balcony was spacious and spotless.
Cons: Breakfast was only adequate. There is ( I assumed too much) no safe pedestrian access as the road is one lane each way and very narrow and hazardous. There is no bus stop and as we were travelling by train we had to resort to taxis (25 Euro from Salerno Rail) to move around. The hotel was also almost empty in mid October.
9,2 Excellent
Pros: Location was great. Wonderful views from the rooms overlooking the sea.
9,2 Excellent
Pros: The room was excellent with balcony overlooking the ocean. Very good in room facilities including satellite tv. Parking was very good on top of the hotel but this means stairways down to reception and some room levels too. We had dinner in the restaurant and it was a wonderful experience with Bruno’s food and wine advice and his exceptional attention to hospitality for guests. Breakfast was also very good with a quite reasonable selection on offer and good coffee on offer from the attentive staff.
Cons: Unfortunately our initial contact with the reception staff member was if not outright rude one of total indifference. Different staff in the morning were fine to deal with . Internet was weak in room and I think you need ask for multiple passwords for multiple devices.
4,0 Okay
Cons: staff behavior was not friendly. very very bad break fast no body help us to lift luggage
5,4 Okay
Pros: We definitely liked the view on the sea and on the port of Vietri. We also liked that there was a parking spot included in the price.
Cons: The acoustic is very bad. We could hear everything from the corridor, from the room next to ours and from the room above ours... people talking, tv, water... We also did not have the wi-fi connection in our room during our stay, which we notified the reception about, but they could not fixe and did not want to give us any discount or whatsoever, even symbolically, saying that there was Internet at the reception and that we could use it. We did not need their money, but it is more about customer care and their approach to their customers which definitely has room for improvement.
1,0 Poor
Pros: Only the view
Cons: The room was stinky with a strong stench coming from the bathroom to the point of asphyxiation. The room was so cold and the old heater was producing more noise than heat. Walking on the tiles without provided slippers was a punishment. The front desk was unhelpful and cold. The breakfast was in small dark room even though they have huge beautiful terrace on such a shiny day. It was only a big disappointment for such a costly room.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful seaside from my balcony and the room very clean

7,5 Good
Pros: The property was located in the centre and a good position. The room was well designed and contemporary. Really liked the fact of a nice and spacious balcony.
Cons: What wasn’t so good is that the room extremely hot. We could not get the air-conditioning to stop and had to sleep with the window wide open. Also the toilet didn’t flush properly. The coffee cups were not replenished the next day. We also could’ve benefited from some large bottles of water.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Staff: Since the first moment staff has been phenomenal - super friendly, super flexible, super helpful. Facilities: newly refurbished. really comfortable Location: in between train station and historic center. 2 streets away from seaside. Safe area, situated in the main shopping street of the city. Will be back: best choice in town
Cons: Nothing really, maybe just increase breakfast choice, but it a negligible point compared to the whole experience/stay.

Pros: Breakfast was very good with a wide range of offerings. They even made a good cup of tea!!

Pros: Location and the stuff is very kind.
Cons: The SPA is really dissapointing, it is quite small and croweded during weekend, moreover the pool isnover chlorinated, we could not stand it long, out eyes started to itch. The turkish bath is with too much steam, while the sauna was compleatly dry. Massage was avarage.

Pros: The lock to our room was broken. We discovered this problem when we return from dinner. It took more than 45 minutes to be able to enter our room 611. We were offered to change rooms but I had already unpacked. The air conditioning did not work either, we had to open window in the middle of the night. We told front desk in the morning. On positive , breakfast was good.
Cons: I summarized above.
6,0 Good
Pros: good location not far from the motorway. underlying garage
Cons: booked a king room and at reception I was asked to upgrade, by paying extra, to effectively have a king room. cost of breakfast is too excessive, and the room cost for that matter. definitely not good value for money. the average wait time for a lift is far too long and one of the lifts seems permanently broken. this is definitely not a 4 star hotel, 3 at best.

Pros: Espresso and cappuccino at breakfast very tasty. Approximately 100 meters from the sea. Nice restaurant close by and lots of locals enjoying the beach, breakwater and promenade on a sunny Sunday in October. We checked in after enjoying the drive and view along the Amalfi coast from Sorrento to Salerno.
Cons: A little too many irresponsible dog owners not picking up after their pets on the promenade. The MacDonalds Restauant does not complement the Italian ambience very well.

Pros: Booked this Hotel at the last minute as a previous accomodation was unexpectedly cancelled by the owner. The property while not new is super clean and the staff is very friendly and willing to help. Breakfast was very nice and included a good variety with something for everyone. Freshly made coffee, cappuccino, hot chocolate etc was a very nice touch. Free parking behind the building was not a problem for us and the property can reserve a spot in the garage if need be at an extra cost.
Cons: Property could use some updating especially the wall paper. It looks like it has seen better days.

Pros: The restaurant for our evening meal was excellent and the staff delightful. Breakfast was included and was generous. The beds and pillows in our room were hard and needed to be upgraded. Otherwise it was a lovely building with a cool 1960s vibe. The views of the coastline where beautiful. It would have been lovely if on arrival we been offered some refreshments as we had traveled from afar. This has become something particular that we have noticed from several venues we’ve strayed in recently.
Cons: Again the beds were uncomfortably hard and the pillows too. The linens were fine.

Pros: Well located between the village and beach. Good access to the Amalfi and Cilento coast roads. Very clean sea front room.
5,1 Okay
Pros: The view from the balcony was amazing and you can hear the water and waves all day and night which is very relaxing
Cons: The hotel is old and run down. Window was broken and the door frame seemed like it was about to fall apart. There is only 1 chair in the room so only one person can sit on the balcony at one time. It would have been nice if they put 2 chairs and a small table to enjoy the only good thing this hotel has to offer. Getting to the hotel is near impossible if you don't have a car. The taxi's are hard to come by and they cost 15-20 euro for just a 5 minute ride anywhere. It's 20-30 euro for a taxi to Salerno. It's a 20 min walk uphill to the closest bus station that only cost 1 euro to get to Salerno. They seem to only rent scooters when they are "in season" which would have been the best way to get around but with no scooter it's not easy.

5,8 Okay
Cons: There was a planned party for teenagers and nobody told us- there where playing loud music and running around the hotel all night. We had to drive very early in the morning and had just a couple hours of sleep.
7,5 Good
Pros: Staff, particularly the Jill of all trades. A super lass. The pool area is good, and the handy man obliging. Continental breakfast was typical Italian fare, but good quality. Excellent pizzas Huge choice.
Cons: Access, or perhaps finding the place initally, was strange. A wee pit tired in places. It's really a wedding / party venue with rooms, but not that is not necessarily a bad thing. Salerno is a bit grim in places, and driving around there is not for the faint hearted, but in comparison with Napoli? Easy peasy.

Cons: There are a couple of things that need to be clarified, first, this is not a „bed and breakfast“. The owner (although she seemed a very nice person (that one moment she showed up for payment) so maybe I met her on a bad day) is renting this room without being at sight so the room you get is in an absolutely lonely / abandoned apartment building. There was nobody else to speak to available my entire stay which made it quite scary especially at night. Nobody to give directions, maps, help etc either... Also there are several doors after entering the main entrance with all different keys and buttons so this is very complicated and the introduction on the door is only in Italien so I could not get out of the house. The apartment itself also needs renovation (very old bed making loud noises when turning and old mattress, all electricity plug inns breaking out of the walls, dirty bathroom mattress). Second, the breakfast is only take away bread in plastic like crackers and the small water bottle she gave me has already been opened! Third, it has to be clarified that the location is not in city centre. It’s away from old town and about 30 minutes walk to the heart of town and everything close to this apartment place already closes late afternoon. So I was not happy at all with my stay and not worth the money as I could not sleep at all that night, not feeling safe in the place.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: The apartamento is very clean, nice and new, the location is good (near to the port, metro station and center). The building have an elevator, thus, no problem with baggages. Also, the employees are very nice, helpful and avaiable. I totally recomend and would come back again...
