Pros: Everything was good quality
Pros: Location and parking in centre of Chalons is good. Staff helpful.
Cons: A bit mystified why it gets such a high rating. Air con in our room was impossible to turn off - it was freezing all night! When complained it was yeh it does that. And the hotel itself lacks a bit of character and while it is perfectly fine but for a 4 star hotel I was expecting more.
Pros: Typical French breakfast, Im from Sweden and our hotel breakfast is like a dream but this was French and okay. Front desk where so helpfull and also served me a bottle of champagne later in the evening.
Cons: Didnt know Chalons ens Champagne actually is located far away from Champagne, but a nice drive to Epernay wasnt a problem (30 minutes away)
Pros: We were given an upgrade to a superior room, there was lots of space and the bed was the most comfortable hotel bed I've ever slept in.
Pros: Spacious room with good air conditioning and tastefully decorated. Excellent breakfast and staff were very warm and helpful. Able to book a car park space, secure and adjacent to reception
Cons: We would have liked a bar lounge to relax in, that said there is a small lounge & a small garden where you can sit, and we were able to get a glass of wine from the staff member who was very hospitable. If you want a drink after 10.30 pm I think you would need to use the room mini bar. Please note that the hotel does not have a restaurant but they did book us one, which was excellent
Pros: Great hotel in a great location
Cons: The room was not spotless, but acceptable
Pros: The Wi-fi was super speedy and the staff were nice, the bed was comfy and the shower was excellent.
Cons: The air con was temperamental and it was not possible to let in fresh air without opening the balcony door. For the money we thought it very expensive compared to other hotels in France.
Pros: Outstanding staff lovely well designed room etcetc
Pros: Good location. Breakfast was a bit limited.
Pros: Friendly staff, wonderful service, lovely room, excellent value for money

Pros: Nice rooms good breakfast although a bit expensive!
Cons: Water in bedroom, tea as well as coffee
Pros: So clean with that touch of luxury! Food lovely and plenty! Plenty of hot water Very warm cosy bed
Cons: The only thing I can complain about ( and it’s a tough one) is my hot chocolate wasn't hot- we ordered room service and the tea was hot but my hot chocolate wasn't! Thats all!
Pros: Great location, car/motorbike park at rear (small charge), the Resturant/breakfast room was very nice, food excellent. Breakfast was a bit sparse, no vegetables, and limited choice. Comfy room, very large bathroom. Had better value.
Cons: The air conditioning in the bedroom stank of cigarette smoke and made it very unpleasant to use. The bathroom shower was not clean, around the base on the outside had never seen a cleaning cloth nor had the top of the “phone or partition between toilet and bath. Disappointed as I expect better.
Pros: The hotel is very comfortable, very clean, and the staff was incredibly courteous, welcoming, and helpful! They arranged taxis for us to get to and from the wedding venue we were headed to as we don’t speak French and we’re available for all our requests. The breakfast was delicious as well. Will definitely stay again if we return to Chalons-en-Champagne.
Pros: Very comfy bed and beautiful bathroom
Cons: TV channels not all available
Pros: Very helpful staff and very well decorated and furnished hotel.
Cons: Not all rooms have a shower. Several have a bath tub with hand held shower which is a bit inconvenient if you're wanting to get up and out quickly to work in a morning
Pros: Hotel of charm snd character in good central location with secure parking in this attractive town - perfect stop- over for the drive south through France.
Cons: Nothing comes to mind.....
Pros: It was a high end hotel with a reasonable price tag. Great location and attentive check in.

Cons: Nothing - all was good.

Cons: Not a great deal going on in Chalon. Joseph Perrier was closed. Hotel out of main town but didn’t affect our stay.
Pros: Easy for motorway break
Cons: No bar, no restaurant , nothing within a walk away
Pros: basic...but the guy did go out to grt fresh croissons
Cons: Decor colour scheme
Pros: Bed good, breakffast good standard.
Pros: Staff brilliant and friendly. Very helpful and secure
Cons: Very hot no air con. Random location in the middle of suburbs
Pros: Convenient location for layover stay. All the rooms were very clean. Breakfast was ample and good selection.
Cons: No aircon so the rooms were very hot. The beds are firm and not very comfortable. The decor is generally dated.
Set in the very centre of Châlons-en-Champagne, this 2-star hotel is just 200 metres from the Jards Gardens. You can relax in The Red Fish bar and sample a glass of champagne or a home-made cocktail. Private parking is available with an extra cost and exit 17 on the A26 motorway is a 15-minute drive away. You may also choose to visit the vineyards surrounding Reims, a 35-minute drive from the hotel.
Pros: Great little find for our overnight stopover on drive back to Calais from Switzerland. Hotel is on the main quaint market square with plenty of good bars and restaurants to choose from. Our big family group of nine arrived late afternoon on a busy bank holiday Saturday but the hotel receptionist was so helpful and went out of his way by offering to call the local restaurants to try and find us a table for dinner - we even spotted him running across the square to speak to one busy restaurant directly which eventually got us in! Thank you so much as we had a great table outside and brilliant meal there! All of our rooms were lovely and comfortable. Definitely return when next in the area.
Pros: Nice funky hotel, with car only a few mins into town. Quite a walk and not really any eating places close by. Nice and comfortable room with large gardens and a pool. Quiet. Breakfast is not really worth having, they only charged €8, but really, after 5 months of travelling it was the poorest! We did have a lovely dinner in the hotel. Staff are nice and friendly. Can park car on property. Can recommend this hotel, especially if you have a car.
Cons: Wifi! I do a few blogs and it was hopelessly slow, so gave up in the end. Asked one receptionist and she did say it was slow at times!
Pros: Very central (located on the town main square), clean, spacious, comfortable bedding, helpful staff
Cons: Everything was nice
Pros: Location in the center of town was excellent. Large family room to share with 2 children. new bathroom with both shower and bath. Good selection at breakfast.
Cons: Street noise due to location
Pros: You couldn’t beat the location. We stay in Chalons-en-Champagne to break up the journey to Calais (3 hours to Calais). It’s a wonderful little town with great restaurants. The staff were outstanding. There’s secure parking (need to pre-book). Would definitely stay there again!
Pros: Location Breakfast Comfy beds Nice staff
Cons: Slightly expensive for what is was - maybe owing to exchange rate
Pros: Great staff, room and location
Pros: Excellent location and very good breakfast.
Cons: A bit wear and tear room.
Pros: Charming location on the square, nice large garage
Pros: Friendly staff
Cons: Window locked . Unable to open . Loud music playing at the bar until late . Sleep was impossible until the music stopped .
Pros: Pretty hotel in the town square with attractive old buildings. Quad room large, clean, modern and comfortable. Staff exceptionally helpful. Town is lovely. Would visit hotel and town again.

There are tea and coffee making facilities in the rooms decorated in a typical mountain style. A breakfast buffet is served daily and there is a local restaurant opposite the Le Montreal Hotel. Restaurants are to be found in the area. Additional services at Citotel Hotel Le Montreal include a bar with a fireplace.
Pros: Lovely decor, comfortable bed, friendly staff and the breakfast was good. The restaurant next door was excellent.
Cons: The room was small and the bathroom could not have been any smaller.
Pros: Great breakfast and good coffee
Cons: Bathroom a little small and shower head not user friendly
Pros: The staff were very friendly and helpful. I loved the cosy log cabin theme which made this hotel a little different from similar priced hotels. It was good to relax with a glass of wine in the bar/lounge area. The breakfast was excellent and very good value.
Pros: Ideal location for a stop over from the Alps or Provence! Stayed here before. It does the job and dogs are allowed in the hotel.
Cons: Nothing really. It is what it is!
Pros: Quirky decor of the type you find only in France. Friendly staff and a quiet atmosphere.
Cons: Unattractive position in a semi- industrial location.
Pros: The staff were exceptionally helpful and efficient. It was good to be able to have secure parking. Breakfast was pretty good and set us up for the day.
Cons: We walked into the city to find somewhere to eat in the evening as the hotel location was not close to good restaurants. Personally I found the ski chalet decor in the bedroom rather oppressive and claustrophobic- but can see that others might find it warm and cosy.

Pros: Good food in restaurant. Friendly staff. Good parking
Cons: Everything was fine.
Pros: Comfortable hotel, good location for our overnight stay
Pros: Late arrival. I could order a hot night meal which was good. Free parking. Nice breakfast. Simple but clean and comfortable.
Cons: A little expensive for it's value. In the middle of nowhere. Quite far from town center - required a car.
Pros: 3 hard working staff who also had a coach trip to deal with as we checked in. Breakfast was good, dinner we dissapointing
Pros: Friendly staff. Nice small restaurant. Pleasant surroundings
Cons: A bit tricky to find
Pros: Easy to get to as a stop after long hours of travel. Good free parking. The staff was very friendly and good dinner and breakfast. The room was very clean.
Cons: There is no tea making facility in the room.
Cons: Very limited menu and still missing a steak that was on the list. Wine was corked and the wine and water were not opened at the table. When I mentioned this to the manager after the meal, that we had left much of the wine because it was corked and if they normally opened it away from the table, he answered in words to the effect 'what do you expect this is only an IBIS' He also asked if I had sent it back for an exchange, which in fairness I hadn't because I was exhausted after a long drive and had 2 or 3 sips at it before I was sure it had gone. In my experience, even the lowliest establishment would normally open bottled wine at the table and ask you to try it to see whether is been affected by TCA. Just saying!
Pros: Ideal position near A4 motorway for overnight stay to break a long journey across France and into Germany. Quiet setting and handy restaurant for evening meal.
Cons: No family room available so 2 double rooms make it less practical and rather expensive. Decor dated in hotel part and bedroom doors too heavy and difficult to handle
Pros: It was very clean
Cons: Very expensive for Avery basic small room quite a way out from the centre, some of the evening staff were not very helpful
Pros: The staff were very friendly and welcoming. A very good breakfast with plenty of choice. The room was very clean and the bed was comfortable. The shower was good. Plenty of parking. We liked the fact that the hotel was staffed 24 hours. We would stay here again.
With a stay at Hotel de la cité in Chalons-en-Champagne, you'll be within a 10-minute walk of Notre Dame en Vaux and Museum of Fine Arts and Archaeology. Featured amenities include complimentary newspapers in the lobby, multilingual staff, and luggage storage.
Pros: Good sized room - clean and comfortable, if rather dated and well-used.
Cons: Nothing really - for the price.
Pros: I would like to be fair and not to critical of this property as I believe. . . . 'you get what you pay for'. So . . . . . The room (we had the ground floor room No. 1) was larger than expected . . .a shame about the decor. The bathroom was larger too . .but again, a shame about the decor. The breakfast room had a fine ceiling which is all I want to say about breakfast. The on street parking was free and very convenient and two restaurants within 5-15 minuite walking was also a plus. As for the location . . . .Quiet, out of the way but not a hotel of the city . . .not even on the high street. And as for 'you get what you pay for' I thought at 136.28e for two persons for two nights (with only one breakfast) was over priced for this standard of accommodation.
Cons: see my comments as expressed
Pros: Spacious room, good location for overnight stop, clean & feels homely. Nice French culture
Cons: No air conditioning. No tea or coffee facilities
Pros: The staff were most helpful and friendly.
Cons: Poor decor. No air-con. No tea or coffee facilities .Shower & toilet not separated within room( just a partition in room) Carpets on stairwell threadbared, holes on treads -dangerous.Poor quality of bedding, Thin walls very noisy. Few plug sockets.
Pros: The bed room was large and airy and the bathroom was also large. Plenty of hot water and a nice long bath. The room was very quiet but a little bit chilly. Good parking outside hotel and not far too walk into the town. Hotel easy too find.
Cons: The bed was hard and we were glad we had our own pillows. No tea/coffee making facilities. Television too far away from bed. As it was a holiday we were surprised that the host didn’t,t know which restaurants were open in the town for her guests.
Pros: Comfortable and clean
Cons: Shower wasn’t the best
Pros: This wa a very pretty romantic old style hotel with very clean comfortable rooms.
Cons: The breakfast coukd be better.
Pros: The hotel had a homely feel. Everything was clean and tidy, the bed was comfortable and the room was a good size. The breakfast was very good value and tasty.
Cons: There was a tired look to the interior. The stair carpet needs repairing for the sake of safety. The shower doors didn't quite close. But neither caused us a problem.
