The hotel is unique and interesting. The staff try when they don't have to. The location is almost perfect. It was easy access to the vatican, Piazza Navona and the airport.
We had a room view. The room was a little too gloomy. We could hear all of the street traffic and people as if they were in our room. The ambulances ran all night. Breakfast was so-so, but they would remove it as soon as they could. The front deck offered some services, but it took them a long time to deliver.
I like the renovated building and rooms. New tiles and shower, sinks, etc. yet it still felt like I was in the 16th century. I loved it. The hotel is in the center of Rome so everything was walking distance. Amazing. The breakfast was amazing. The lighting in the bathroom was not too bright or too dim. Perfect for a nicely lit experience.
Upon my arrival, I asked the front desk to not have anyone clean or service my room until I check out. They said ok. Then two times after that I heard the cleaning staff knock on my door for a good 3 minutes straight. When I finally opened the door in frustration, they said they wanted to clean my room even though I had a “do not disturb” sign on my door which was taken off. I struggle with insomnia so I hate being woken up when I do finally fall asleep. Their staff needs to communicate better when it comes to guests’ needs and requests. I found one small bug crawling on the bed when I was about to check out. Eww. The AC was hard to control and change temperature on. There was a beautiful painting on the wall across the bed, but I think it was Italian painter Raffael, I believe, that was staring at me the whole time I was there. Gave me the creeps lol
The lift doesn’t work. It’s old and people gets trapped in it constantly. We got stuck inside for over an hour. And we got out only because we insisted with the manager to call the firefighters! The staff was impolite and could not manage the situation.
Absolutely amazing!! Great location, right in the middle of everything. The only problem was the noise at night but hey you’re right in the centre so I guess nothing couch be done about that.
Double bed made of two single beds was a bit uncomfortable and only one coffee machine in the breakfast room.
The location was excellent, only 5/10 minute walk from all the great sites, breakfast was nice with a great rooftop view. Staff were so helpful and nice.
