Great service by staff. Room was a tad musky when I first entered but cleared out with air conditioning. Kept up by the trains coming by at night, but still overall a nice room. Great location next to downtown Roanoke. Overall a good stay!

Pros (+) Everyone at the hotel was friendly and helpful. Jennifer, at the 1882 bar, especially stood out.
Cons (-) It seems like after 10pm you can only get in the hotel by the front door, which is pretty far from the parking lot. There are closer doors, but signs indicated that they are locked after 10pm. I'm not sure if your key card will get you in that way. It was raining when we arrived and left, so this was a hassle.

Pros (+) The hotel is stunning! My kids felt as though we were staying in a castle! It is truly a lovely place. The room was very nice. The decor is certainly beautiful and the staff was incredibly helpful! Our stay was a good one.
Cons (-) While the room was nice, the bed was not the most comfortable. Even with the AC on, the room was a bit warm during the night. The bathroom had hair in it from the former occupant (on the floor, in the tub). It was easy to wipe up, just caught me off guard after the immaculate experience in the rest of the hotel.

Pros (+) Really enjoyed my stay. Great hotel with a beautiful room. Downtown Roanoke is a short walk away and has a lot of great food and entertainment choices. Wish I could have stayed longer.

Pros (+) The Hotel Roanoke is a fantastic facility. The building is clean and well-maintained. The staff went out of their way to make our event a success. The dining room buffet is probably one of the best meals I have every eaten. I can't recommend this site enough for a business meeting or just for a stay while on vacation in Roanoke.

Pros (+) Historic sprawling Hotel...so many hallways and places to explore. Multiple patios/courtyards/outdoor seating areas. Would recommend....especially for business conference rooms. The Hotel parking lot connects to a sky walkway that drops you right off at the edge of the Roanoke downtime "market" area where all the shops are.

We had a problem with our room and when addressed, we were moved into a suite and also given passes for the executive lounge. Aver unexpected and pleasant surprise. Cons (-) The rooms were only average, at best. There was hair on the woodwork in the bathroom and the floor was a little dirty. The linens on the bed were also a little scratchy. Not nearly as luxury as I expected. I've stayed in less "luxurious" hotels with softer sheets. The overall decor was old and tired...definitely not grand. It would have been really nice to have coffee service available in the room...

Cons (-) 24 hrs before checking in I received an email offering 3 alternative upgrades if available at 3 different price premiums above my booked room. I was not able to choose which upgrade I might be interested in.
