Pros: The hotel is in a fabulous area and Reit Im Winkl is very pretty with many things to do in town and in the surrounding areas. The host was extremely friendly and helpful and the room was great. The view from the balcony was beautiful & beautiful traditional floral window boxes. The use of a fridge in the breakfast room was good and the food was lovely both at breakfast and in the restaurant downstairs. A great place to stay!

Owner is very friendly, kind and helpful with information and some good tips for enjoying your stay at Gasthaus Angerer. Breakfast is very good, just the place to be if you want to stay near by the mountains of the border between Germany and Austria. Cons: Quite frankly if not for the chalets, location and some of the staff the property did not quite meet mu expectation for Relaix & chateau. I stayed in their other property in Rottach Egern which was superb. My balcony room was just ok not exceeding 3 star facility. Front Desk and main restaurant service apart of Assistant Manager David,Housekeeping staff and the love cooking Chefs was transactional lacking engagement. No bikes?! Had to go rent downtown?! Food - for relaix & chateau you have some work to do. Love cooking for dinner was good idea, however can work a bit on the variety and taste, regular menu was not appealing, wine choice limited and/or not explained. Breakfast just ok - pancake cold after waiting 15 min for the only waitress at 8:00 am.

Pros: The hotel and rooms were clean, the staff very freindly and helpful, The bedroom large, and comfortable Large bed, seperate duvets, Bathroom was adequate (Wet Room). Breakfast was a generous selection of foods, Salmon, meats, fruit, drinks etc, all very good. Location was central for the town, with ample parking, even with all the snow :-)

We also ate in the restaurant one night and food was traditional German and very tasty. The hotel is situated right in the middle of Reit im Winkl and there is a bus stop outside where you can get the bus to the ski area.

Cons: As a group (10 couples) paying for evening meals and accomodation, we ended up being moved from the main bar eating/function room (that had the entertainment on) into the rear breakfast room, it appeared to be so that they could accomodate outside clientel paying for Alle Carte menu. Felt this was poor as we were guests and should have had access to the entertainment... Disappointing. Shower was not all that powerful and didn't fit the holder well, very unstable. Towels were a poor quality compared to those in other rooms that are friends were using. Room was noisey, due to two outside walls and not very thick double glazing. Curtains did not do a great job of keeping the light out, some thicker ones would be better.

Pros: The staff was very friendly and spoke good English. We arrived around 20:30 and were warmly welcome. The gal who checked us in found us a place to eat dinner within walking distance. She even made a reservation. The breakfast was great with plenty to eat and we were not rushed. The rooms were extremely clean. We were a short car ride from the ski resort.

Cons: The pool and the sauna were not working. There was no warm water. We had to shower in the evening and in the morning with cold water. Not acceptable for such high price. The staff couldn't give us information on local activities. We wanted to go rodeln and she couldn't give us any information on nearby Rodelbahn.

Pros: There was a wonderful friendly dog who greeted us when we checked in (my 20 year old daughter LOVES dogs, and they are allowed inside many buildings and restaurants in Germany). The entire village is very cute. Our room had a balcony with window boxes full of beautiful flowers. There is a tiny elevator to the upper floors.

Cons: The staff was very unfriendly, I could even say rude. We stayed 2 nights and in the first evening after checkin we complained that it was too cold in the room (in the hotel lobby was warmer than in our room). The owner came in pretty angry, checked the heater (which indeed was hot but we already managed to see that) and then simply left, without even saying good bye or that he apologies for the inconvenience. We kindly asked if there is another room available but all we've got was a rude 'no'. So we slept with our hoodies on that night. The furniture was reaaaaally old and the bed had a strange separator between the mattresses. The breakfast choices were rather poor (no water, only juice, only boiled eggs, no scrambled nor fried eggs). I would never ever go back there!
