8,8 Excellent
Pros: Almost everything. Even minor irks were reasonable. Would choose this hostel over a hotel if returning to Punta Arenas.
8,8 Excellent
Pros: The staff are super helpful with recommendations and can book all the tours you want to go on which makes it so much easier to get the beat out of your visit.
Cons: There was no English speaker but we managed to muddle through and get all my tours booked.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Angelica was very helpful. We loved the place
8,0 Excellent
Pros: Room was comfortable and offered enough space for 3 travellers. There is also kitchen facilities, and a sort of living room with a big great painting on the wall. The centre is 15min walk away, The area seemed to be safe and quite. Wifi worked well. Checking and payment quick and harmless. Parking on the street if needed.
Cons: Nothing major to report here.
9,6 Excellent
Pros: The staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was cosy and warm.
7,5 Good
Pros: It was clean and reasonably comfortable
3,0 Mediocre
Pros: Quiet location, good shower with plenty of hot water, good buffet breakfast
Cons: Creepy, very unsound, stairs and floors make a cracking sound, you can hear the guests next room as if they were directly talking to you, and even as they are speaking in a normal tone of voice, not loud. Some of the staff are not trained enough to deal with extendend bookings appropriately. There are a lack of plates and forks at the breakfast table, I had to go and fetch some everyday in the kitchen myself, because staff was not available. The billing process is insidious and devious, they charge more if you pay in chilean pesos than if you paid with US dollars, because according to them, they have to charge us non residents foreigners a 19% sales tax if we pay in chilean pesos, but not if we pay in US dollars. Now I fully know for a fact that this is pure nonsense, because in reality visitors non residents do not have to pay the sales tax in Chile even if you pay in chilean pesos. I know this for sure because I stayed in lots of other chilean hotels in the past 50 days and never had to pay the 19% sales tax because I am a foreign non resident, and even as I paid in Chilean pesos everytime no other hotel/hostal has ever charged me extra for that. They also charged me US $20.00 extra to wash six items of my clothing, some of them underwear and socks, a ridiculous high amount Then they made the paying process even more cumbersome, I had to fill out an extra form in order to be able to pay in US dollars. Staff should be more adequately trained and ask guests if they wish to stay longer before they rent the room to somebody else.

10,0 Excellent
Pros: We were very impressed with these cabins - the location is pretty much walking distance to everything, which is nice. The cabins are beautifully appointed, with every amenity in the bathroom, including a shower that converts to a rainforest shower head. The kitchen contains a small fridge, microwave, stove top, and electric kettle, along with plates, cutlery, etc. Beds are comfy, wifi is good, and there is a cable TV. We were able to park our tall vehicle inside a security gate, which is always a priority for us. The manager was extremely responsive, even allowing us to check in at 10:30pm when we had to take a late ferry from Porvenir.
Cons: The cabin does not have an oven, which we usually love to use when we stay in places, but we understand why. The only other issue was very minor, and involved a very sensitive motion-sensor light that kept going on during the night when windy, which shone into our bedroom window.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Very central location so we could walk everywhere we wanted/needed to go. Secure private parking with no height restriction. Very well-appointed rooms and comfortable bed. Good wifi. Very responsive manager - we were able to check in at 10:30pm after arriving on the late ferry.
Cons: Probably the only annoying thing, and it’s minor, is that we stayed in a cabin that faced another cabin, which had a movement-activated light on the front porch. Our bedroom had a window d]facing this light, so it shone inside whenever the light turned on, which was a lot - it seemed a bit sensitive, especially with the crazy wind.
5,0 Okay
Pros: Kitchen, beds and shower.
Cons: Too much noise from the street and room nextdoor.

8,0 Excellent
Pros: Extremely nice and helpful!
9,0 Excellent
Pros: Very nice hotel, welcoming staff, good restaurant on premises. I ate dinner there after a late arrival, and it was really good. I ate dinner there a second night also, plus breakfasts were very good, with lots of options and high quality food. There were nice touches like coffee and newspapers in the hotel lobby, and the seating there was very comfortable. Great bed, very comfortable. Good location on a quiet street. Nice outdoor patio with several seating areas, pretty pool. Staff was very good overall, and they were really helpful with providing an alternate computer for me to use when the guest computer didn't work.
Cons: AC wasn't the greatest, although it was easy to operate with the instructions provided. No clock in the room, which would have been useful. The hotel had a computer available for guests but it did not work properly, so that was frustrating. Both clock and computer access were critical for me, as I did not have any devices with me after my phone was stolen. However, when I complained about the guest computer not working, staff was helpful in providing an alternate computer for me to use briefly.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: The room was great, the staff are amazing and helpful, the atmosphere was lovely. Everything was clean and the whole place was pretty nice all up.
Cons: There wasn't an elevator so it was hard to bring all the bags up the many flights of stairs.
6,0 Good
Pros: The location although noisy as you on the main square. The church bells.
Cons: No water bottles in room. No fridge, kettle nothing in room. No bar in hotel. Rooms are old and tacky. Carpets look dirty and are faded. Mattress is very soft and feels worn out. Bathroom tap does not work properly. Sink is chipped. The plug for the tub is too small and for the basin it is too big. Not a great experience at all.
8,0 Excellent
Pros: Hotel in the center of Punta Arenas, restaurants in walking distance. At the corner of a main road, but quite rooms because of noise reduction windows. Hotel used by groups, rooms next to breakfast room should be avoided.
3,8 Mediocre
Pros: Staff
Cons: Dirty Stupid expensive

Pros: Great service from the moment we walked in at the front desk to when we checked out. Everyone was super friendly, very accommodating and warm. Our room was really nice and a great price too. Just what we needed after a long drive from Torres del Paine. The breakfast was great both mornings, one being super early when being picked up for the all day King Penguin tour. We ate out in town our first night in, but had dinner the second night in your restaurant. It was an amazing meal, along with great wine! If I'm ever down to Punta Arenas again, I will stay there. If anyone I know is visiting there, I will recommend Hotel Rey Don Felipe in a heartbeat. Thanks for the lovely stay!
6,0 Good
Pros: This hotel was pleasant & clean, and the staff were helpful. Breakfast was fine. (I note that I am giving 'good' but not exceptional ratings ….this was my experience here.) Everything was fine & I would not mind staying here again, although I would look to see what other possibilities there were. Reception and dining room staff were particularly pleasant and helpful.
Cons: The décor in the hotel is intended to be 'old town' style and this has some charm, but I think it veers too much towards the austere and does need some uplifting. The biggest disappointment is the bar ….this can only be described as 'basic' furnishing. Coming from England, it reminds me of the 'men-only' public bars of the 1950's, with no soft furnishings or cosy atmosphere at all. As a woman, I put my head around the door & decided it wasn't a place where women or couples could sit comfortably to enjoy a drink. What a pity! The décor of the dining room was similarly unwelcoming and austere
6,0 Good
Cons: The attitude of the waiters
8,0 Excellent
Pros: Comfortable hotel, with a decent restaurant. All the staff very friendly and a good base to explore from.
Cons: Breakfast not the most exciting, but did offer an early start version to cater for teh boat trip times.
9,0 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast was okay, but need more type of food like egg and bacon or omelett
Cons: No minibar, not possible to purchase any water or snack in reception in night time. (After bar closed)
8,8 Excellent
Pros: Location was great, the room was clean and nice, and the staff was great.
Cons: Slow wifi.

7,5 Good
Pros: Very friendly and helpful hosts and big comfortable room. A bit further to walk to the centre, but close to the cemetery, and in a safe and nice residential area.
Cons: Everything was a bit old / outdated (but clean).
8,3 Excellent
Pros: The gentleman who greeted us was lovely, we arrived early and he was kind enough to make us breakfast as we waited for our room. We were in room 2 which was super spacious and comfortable.
Cons: Location was a little bit out of the main town (15mins walk) but not a problem for us. Taxis are super cheap if you’d prefer not to walk.
8,0 Excellent
Pros: Quiet area and safe parking.
Cons: There was no breakfast offered on our last day (a Sunday)but no information about it.
3,0 Mediocre
Pros: Not much really, staff were disinterested but polite, didn't go to any extra effort or make suggestions. They did replace the toilet paper roll which was saturated on arrival as were the shower mats.
Cons: This is the first time I have made a negative comment about a property but believe it is warranted due to the misreprentation of the website. We were located in a building next door to the property shown in the photographs which contained about half of the rooms offered. It was rundown and in a poor state of repair and maintenance. Carpets were stained and torn, shower screen broken with section missing, which had been replaced by a section of shower curtain which was too short, hence water everywhere. Fibreglass shower base had been broken and poorly repaired, you had to be careful where you stood for fear of it collapsing. Paint peeling off walls from water damage in bathroom and unable to adjust heated towel rail due to broken valve. Breakfast was very basic and only offered as a help yourself from the refrigerator on the first morning, which I assume we were expected to clean up after ourselves as we saw no-one. The teatowel was dirty and looked as though it had been used for quite a while and wasn't replaced in our time there. No serviettes or paper towels either
6,7 Good
Pros: Staff was really nice, so good advices of places to eat and places to see in the city, and good Wi-Fi
Cons: Too much noise around all day and early in the morning, we were room number 1, next to the steps, and you can hear everything, even the room next to us
2,9 Mediocre
Pros: The proprietor was very nice.
Cons: The floor tiles are broken, with only a small throw carpet over the damage, the vinyl floor is rotten and moldy, again covered by a carpet. The shower head is broken, it’s impossible to take a shower bc all the water pours out the bottom of the hose when the shower head is at the proper height. The place is seriously outdated, smells of mold. The only good thing is that the sheets were clean, the parking seemed safe, and the toilet was new. Other then that, totally not worth the money!
9,2 Excellent
Pros: Confortable bed
Cons: Shower space is a bit small but water pressure is good
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Lovely place with a bed and breakfast feel. Staff were really helpful with information and organising tours. Warm rooms and comfy beds

Pros: Very helpful staff and nice facilities and location. We were initially placed in a top level room which smelled very stronger of mildew to the point that our throats were burning within a few minutes. The staff was able to move us to a new room which was much better.

Pros: It’s right next to the Bus Sur stop, so very convenient for travelling. The hotel has very nice staff, is clean and well managed.
Cons: It’s not the most inspiring property and a fairly standard place to stay. The breakfast is fine, but nothing special. However, for the price it’s quite acceptable.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Great place !!!
10,0 Excellent
Pros: The Best Western Finis Terrae is a nice hotel that's right in the middle of town. Check in was normal as we arrived on an early flight and our room was not ready, the desk held our luggage for us so we could walk around town a little bit. Some of the guys at the desk spoke English. We got back around noon and checked in to a spacious room with a sit ting area, safe, wifi, and an ok sized bathroom that had a tub. Breakfast was included and consisted of fruits, eggs, bacon, breads, some pastries, coffee and juice. The view from the restaurant was very nice as its on the 6th floor and not many buildings obscure is view. The hotel is right in the middle of evening within close proximity of restaurants, money exchange, supermarkets, laundry, stores and tourist sites (all of which we used). Check out was also smooth and they held our luggage again as we didn't have to check in for our cruise until late afternoon so we could go do additional site seeing and shopping.
Cons: The TV was a little fuzzy at times, the desk didn't tell us we needed a safe key so I had to walk back downstairs to get it but these are minor inconveniences.
7,0 Good
Pros: Staff really friendly and welcoming, nothing was a bother for them. Hotel is in a great central location and in 10 minutes you can walk to the shops in one direction, restaurants in another and it’s a straight road to the shore front

Cons: Came in summer. Room was a bit too warm. I asked for the water side which had a lovely view. The only downside was to cool off the room, we opened the window & there is much street/traffic noise as a main highway is in front of the hotel.
8,0 Excellent
Pros: Great location, with restaurants and shops only a few blocks away.
9,0 Excellent
Pros: Great location, great breakfasts, and good restaurant for lunch and evening meals. Good all round value.
Cons: The noise form the motorcyclists and fast motor cars in the early hours. Police need to be a little more engaging with those noise polluters! That was the only downside. Great looking ocean views from the front rooms.
5,0 Okay
Pros: Decent breakfast
Cons: The reception called at 6a. I told them not to call again but they did so again at 6:50a for me to pick up a bag. Who does that?

Cons: needs some upgrades. Pool and Sauna were closed for a month (in high season!) hallway carpets very bad.

5,0 Okay
Pros: Location to downtown and the Market. The building itself was historically interesting and has some interesting architectural details, such as the ceilings. Can open a window. Bathtub in bathroom. Wifi worked well.
Cons: The property is run down and not maintained super well. It's kind of sad. Breakfast is also mediocre with the tired cheese, ham, salami sandwich combo, sugary cereal, canned fruits, and sweet yogurts - no eggs. Service was a bit slow with some difficulty when paying to check out.
