Hotel Indigo Venice - Sant'elena - Venice - Building
1
9,4 Excellent (166 reviews)
R3 299+
Overview Reviews
The tranquil neighbourhood. Venice is a fairy-tale of a city with palaces, cathedrals and museums to take your breath away. In our neighbourhood you can get your breath back again. It’s a place where you can escape the noise and bustle, experience genuine local life, and feel refreshed. This is a neighbourhood of true tranquillity. At the heart of the neighbourhood is Hotel Indigo® Venice - Sant'Elena, a converted 1930s monastery where a peaceful inner sanctuary offers further respite from the bustle. Our neighbours include the elegant red-brick Gothic church of Sant’Elena, built by Augustinian monks in the 11th century and known for its lofty landmark belltower.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Lovely hotel, stylish and relaxed. The breakfast is good, the staff is great. I noticed some confusion between the staff, but that is not strange as the hotel was opened so recently. We will definitely return, we also love the quiet area of Sant Elena and how close it is to the biennale.

Cons: Nothing, everything was great

Cons: Not applicable
9,6 Excellent
Pros: The room is clean and comfort and staffs are very helpful.
Cons: It’s located in the end of island, you need to take all your luggage to take ferry from train station to get there, the fastest way takes around 30mins .
4,0 Okay
Pros: The staff was nice enough to say that they will take care of the complains and apologized. The breakfast had variety of food.
Cons: The staff was nice enough to say that they will take care of the complains and apologized but it wasn't taken care of after all.
7,7 Good
Pros: Hotel was located out of the city centre of Venice which is away from the noise, and the room is nice roomy. We arrive very late on the day and the staff assist us on how to get to the hotel.
Cons: The hotel is about 20 mins walk from St. Marco Square and 1 hr by ferry to Piazza Roma, therefore have to plan the time for travelling.
6,0 Good
Cons: Location. It is a bit far from the city centre and major attractions but still within walking distance.

Pros: very peaceful,clean too
Cons: very quiet in the bar in evenings, could not enjoy night in hotel, would have to venture out.could have been more of a choice i food for breakfast
6,0 Good
Pros: It had large modern rooms in a quieter area of Venice with some lovely green space but still close enough to the tourist attractions of Venice.
Cons:
7,6 Good
Pros: The hotel was of a high modern standard. The rooms were well equipped although not large , were fine - although the views from the windows were not worth opening the shutters. The breakfast was excellent. The hotel is in a quite location around 15-20 minutes pleasant walk from St Marks Sq. A water bus stops just 2 mins walk from the hotel. (and goes to the Lido and all the Islands, as well as back to the Grand Canal in the other direction).
Cons: The hotel did not have much "Venice" character. The pigeons in the courtyard were a real nuisance. They even landed on the tables and (although the staff cleaned up very quickly ) droppings were regular on the outside furniture.
4,4 Okay
Pros: Location was good, rooms and bathrooms were good
Cons: The reception staff were grumpy
6,0 Good
Pros: The location of the hotel is fabulous, away from the craziness of the crowds and the nearby park is terrific, especially for kids.

Pros: Cozy and well arranged rooms and excellent breakfast.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Helpful staff. Room excellent. Breakfast very good. Great location for water transport and close to restaurants and heart of Venice.
Cons: Nothing!
9,7 Excellent
Pros: Situated in a more residential part of town - but only 10 - 15 min walk to all main attractions this hotel was awesome. Staff were ridiculously friendly. Place is like a 5 star hotel. Completely renovated - all high tech switches in the rooms. Extremely cheap for what you get. Will be only place I stay in Venice from now on!
Cons: Nothing
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Excellent service by very professional staff who were extremely helpful with all our needs. We had special religious needs on Saturday and the staff was very cooperative. The atmosphere was very special in this boutique hotel in Cannareggio area of Venice on the canal. Absolutely peaceful and serene atmosphere that made us forget all everyday concerns. We highly recommend staying here and we will definitely stay here again this summer when we return to visit Venice.
9,4 Excellent
Pros: My husband and I recently stayed at the Ai More d'Oriente for 4 days and 3 nights in December 2014 and loved it. Here's what we loved: LOCATION - The location was perfect... close, easy access to the vaperatto's (Venice's water taxis) as well as a short walk to the city center. STAFF - The staff was super helpful, friendly and accommodating. AMENITIES - Free wi-fi and breakfast. ROOMS - Comfortable, clean, nicely decorated rooms. The rooms are small but 1. that's to be expected in Europe and 2. We didn't come to Italy to stay in the room so the size wasn't an issue for us. Overall we felt we got an excellent value for what we paid. We would definitely stay here again and recommend it to others.
Cons: The breakfast was a typical European breakfast. The coffee was excellent but the food options were not to our liking. However, it I free so not a big deal for us.
7,9 Good
Pros: The location of the hotel is great - it’s very close to the busy streets and restaurants yet two lovely bridges and small passageways away to be calm and peaceful enough. It’s also very easy to get to from the airport (about 25 mins) by taking the water transport. The room is spacious, clean, with attention to detail, and the bed is very comfortable. We even had a small balcony. The breakfast offers a good variety.
Cons: Unfortunately the air conditioning only seemed to allow for the room to be freezing, another setting didn’t seem to be working. The breakfast can be eaten outside in a small area which however will be interrupted by some cheeky pigeons. We wondered if a better fence might help to keep them away so breakfast could be more enjoyable outside. The staff was helpful and friendly but we sometimes missed the service-with-a-smile or just a little bit of chitchat.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: The hotel was spotless clean, very comfortable room, staff were very engaging, and the breakfast buffet items were good quality. At breakfast the hotel gave a small birthday gift (we guess they knew from the passport at check in). The hotel is in a quiet area with several nice restaurants/cafe within just a 3-5 minute walk, and only a 15 minute walk to the train station.
Cons: Our only negative was the WiFi generally unavailable in our room and spotty in the common areas.
8,8 Excellent
Pros: Great location, nice clean rooms, nice hotel
Cons: Room was a bit on the small side
9,6 Excellent
Pros: Loved that it was in a more quiet section of Venice and that it was directly on the water, so boat taxis could get to it. Also the staff were incredibly thoughtful and helpful, they arrange free tours to Murano and help you with ANY request you may have. We had to check out at 6am and they even packed us a “to go” breakfast.
Cons: The only thing that wasn’t amazing was the WiFi connection, it kept breaking off.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Absolutely superb service, we go there every year to end our holiday in Europe on a high note, staff always remember us. We are always made feel very special and important and I have no doubt so are other guests. The customer is always of most importance :). We love this place !
8,8 Excellent
Pros: Staff was extremely kind and helpful, they even booked a good restaurant for us and gave an upgrade in the room, as it was for us a special occasion.
Cons: Certain common parts of the hotel maybe a bit “tired”
9,6 Excellent
Pros: Perfect location, good air condition inside the room, nice staff
Cons: Everything was good, only the cups for tea were too small

Pros: We stayed at Rovere for only one night on a boat to Venice and Treviso. Our family room was modern, immaculate and clean and very spacious for the entire family. From the moment we arrived to our departure , the service provided by our host Elisa was simply outstanding. Friendly, extremely competent and helpful to all our questions and needs. Fantastic, I would certainly recommend this hotel to anyone wanting to escape the crowds and heat of Venice and visit another charming Italian town.

Pros: Excellent hotel, staff overpassed our expectations, especially Narcis and the reception team. They supported us with all the requwsts, including locating some lost documents in the room. The garden facing Canal Grande is priceless. Our second stay here, and for sure the hotel of choice when returning to Venice.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Excellent location, great staff
Cons: None
9,2 Excellent
Pros: The staff was supernice - they helped us find a really nice restaurant nearby. The location is great with a very nice rose garden where you can have breakfast in the morning with the view over the grand canal.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful clean classic hotel in Venice .and good location. If you come to Venice by train the hotel is just 5-10 minutes by walk. I like the old building and modern inside. Perfect
10,0 Excellent
Pros: The location is perfect, the hotel is very authentic, with big beautiful rooms and a lovely patio. The breakfast on the terrace facing the water is a must, just beware of the pigeons.)) The staff went above and beyond and made our stay very pleasant.
Cons: Nothing
10,0 Excellent
Pros: The hotel is in an excellent location. 500m from bus station, 200m from train station and also main Venice ACTV waterbus stop. The hotel is clean, rooms and beds are great. The air conditioning works well, but you do still get mosquitos in the rooms. Fact of life when it's hot! Breakfast is largely continental buffet, though scrambled eggs and small portion of sausages/bacon also available. Staff are friendly and helpful. There is a nice garden area which is right at the canal side, it's great to have breakfast there also (watch the pigeons though!). I'd definitely stay again, and no hesitation in recommending it to anyone looking for a place to stay in Venice.
Cons: I bought a bottle of beer at a local shop and drank it in the garden, only to be set upon by someone from the hotel remonstrating that it wasn't allowed, I HAD to buy drink from the hotel bar. My position remains that I wasn't in the bar area, I was at the bottom of the garden. I guess it is typical though of all of Venice, where tourists are fleeced at every opportunity, be warned when travelling to Venice!
10,0 Excellent
Pros: The terrace, the garden and that a water taxi can take you directly to the hotel
Cons: Nothing at all
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Bed was comfy, room was spacious, staff was friendly and location was excellent!
Cons: Always hard to find the bartender.
9,6 Excellent
Pros: Cooked breakfast always welcomed and they didn't disappoint..The room was always clean and immaculate despite me forgetting to put clean room sign out.
Cons: Prefer crispy bacon..but can't complain. Also would like to see the breakfast fruit covered.

Many vaunt wonderful views over the canals and rooftops, the bell towers and the "altanas", typical Venetian terraces. Pros: Loved the roof top bar. The location was great. Room very small but that’s probably to be expected. We had dinner in the restaurant which was very good.

Pros: Hotel was in perfect location, lovely breakfast room and rooftop terrace for evening - what more do you need!
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Amazing location. Despite being right in the middle of the hussle and bussle, inside the hotel was very quiet and relaxing. The room has an amazing view onto one of the quieter canals. The room was clean, bed really comfortable and bathroom had everything you may need.
Cons: Cannot fault it
8,0 Excellent
Pros: great location. Great breakfast.
Cons: lunchtime - bar was not covered due to dining room activity and so the wait for a snack was quite long. Saw people wait and then leave. Water taxi booked easily but no concept of sharing at all - therefore very (unrealistically ) expensive even for Venice.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Great location, private water taxi port/dock and everyone who works there was so kind and helpful.
Cons: Only thing I didn’t like was the buffet breakfast hours were only until 10 am. I prefer brunch and I typically like to eat at around 10:30 when I am on vacation. Because of all the sightseeing and walking around to find gelato late at night :), I like to sleep in later.

Overview Reviews
A stay at Carnival Palace Hotel places you in the heart of Venice, within a 15-minute walk of Grand Canal and Piazzale Roma. Featured amenities include a computer station, dry cleaning/laundry services, and a 24-hour front desk.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: So tastfully decorated and comfy! Nice large room and beautiful bathroom. Best hotel I've ever stayed in.
5,8 Okay
Pros: Nice clean room and good breakfast.
Cons: I booked a deluxe triple room and it was stated on the website that there would be three single beds inside the room. At the time I checked in, I found one double bed and a small extra bed in the room. The room was so crowded that there was little space for walking. Then I came back to the reception, the staff who named Eduard(I apologise if I spell your name wrong) just refused to even separate the mattress and said the only thing he can do was to offer one more bed sheet. The same time, another guest met the same situation, and his colleague said they will separate the bed for them immediately. I can’t understand how could this happen. Please give your reception staff some more training. Because I believe treating the guests with different nationalities equally is the basic manner of reception. The reception is the first image of your hotel which didn’t give me a nice impression.
9,6 Excellent
Pros: Location was great - having stayed in St Marks square and the Lido on previous trips I chose this area to be close to the cruise terminal and still with plenty to do - it was a perfect location for my needs with lots of fab restaurants and shops but quieter and better value than the tourist traps
Cons: The decor was lovely and it had modern furnishings without being too minimalistic - it is a similar style to my own tastes so was lovely
8,8 Excellent
Pros: We stayed in a terrace suite with a jacuzzi which was a nice to relax in with a bottle of complimentary Prosecco! The room was nice and cool, temperature controlled by the hotel but we had no issue with that, we were comfortable. Bathroom was nice and modern (although the toilet wobbled a bit I thought I was going to fall off!) Location is fat from the main plazza, but it is well connected by waterbus (when you get the hang of it! We bought a 3 day ticket from a machine located by the Rialto bridge and can get on and off as much as you want, but can also buy single tickets on the bus. ) Breakfast buffet was incredible! One of the best I’ve ever had, so much choice (fruit, full English, cold meat, cakes, every kind of fruit juice you can imagine, tea, coffee, even Prosecco) Delicious! Staff were friendly and helpful.
Cons: We stayed in a suite, the room itself could do with a bit of updating, looked a bit tired, especially the balcony area and jacuzzi. Enjoyed some lovely cocktails but service was extremely slow.
7,5 Good
Pros: staff is friendly, location is nice, breakfast is very good
Cons: the colour theme is very dark, especially in the corridors I realise it is a style issue but it is too dark in my opinion.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: The front desk staff were wonderful, they were very helpful and very knowledgeable... Breakfast selection was great and staff were very friendly.

Pros: New, modern furnishings, clean. We had a beautiful room with a canal view.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: First of all allies it was a wonderful and let us check in four hours early. That was extremely nice and unexpected.
Cons: The hotel, the location, everything about it was amazing. Our room did have a little bit of a moldy smell to it but I think that's because they turn the air off when you leave and of course they are on the water. Again, I highly recommend this hotel it

7,5 Good
Pros: The location was excellent, near the station, and can access San Marco easily.
Cons: The bathroom layout was terrible. No standard size for rooms, general guidance stating rooms between 18sqm to 23sqm, so we got a tiny room on the ground floor.

Pros: Location
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Perfect location. Incredible view. Friendly staff. Coffee maker. Good lighting in the washroom. Proximity to water taxi is excellent just outside the door to the right. Centrally located on the Grand Canal.
Cons: Would have liked to have an iron and ironing board.
9,2 Excellent
Pros: good location, beautiful room, and it's very quiet and safe area to stay,i like the balcony of the room, can see the river, and the garden for breakfast is also very beautiful
Cons: the breakfast it is a little bit boring and not so much choices compare to other nh collection hotel, and the waiter also not introduced what food can be freshmade by the restaurant, and also don't have any list about that, and some food also don't have supplement when it is already empty. another thing is about the room cleaning, the balcony is good, but as a part of the room, when the first day i arrived, there was short period of rain, and all the seats and table outside were wet,and they didn't do any cleaning of that, just keep the water on it,even it didn't rain anymore,i think the room cleaning should keep every place of the room clean

Pros: Staff were so friendly...area was so beautiful... just the best experience hands down.
8,8 Excellent
Pros: Especially the staff was very friendly helping us change rooms and with every of our needs.. The location is very good so central to everything we wanted to see .. piazza San Marco with dome and doge palace...

Pros: This hotel is situated on an island and is accessible by water taxi or by the courtesy shuttle boat from St Marks square and they are regular throughout the day, on arrival we checked in and headed to rooftop adult-only pool, the attendant made ready 2 lounge chairs and we sat with the most amazing view of Venice and it really was all the sightseeing we fancied doing after travelling for days, It really was special.
Cons: As it was on an island and a resort hotel it might have been good to have some entertainment on in the evening, it may be so but not in the evenings we were there.

Pros: Room was good.
Cons: My checking in experience was no so pleasant.
7,1 Good
Pros: 1. comfortable shuttle service to Venice 2. good breakfast 3. nice and helpful staff 4. clean rooms

Pros: The ambience at the hotel was delightful. The decor was amazing in the public areas which reflected the fact that this was originally a palace. Being on the Grand Canal was enormously convenient. Water taxis were available immediately outside the door as were the beautiful gondolas.
Cons: We booked the private boat function for the night of the Redeemer and watched the most amazing firework display. However we should have been collected afterwards at 12.30 am to return to the hotel. We weren't picked up till nearly 3.00am as there were no water taxis available!!! This was clearly unacceptable and we eventually had to travel back in an overcrowded boat!! Not to be repeated !!!
9,6 Excellent
Pros: Great hotel excellent location and extremely friendly staff
7,9 Good
Pros: Excellent/
Cons: No 110V outlets. No USB outlets. No coffee in room. Not enough pillows. Poor quality pillows.
7,5 Good
Pros: Professional staff, good location.
Cons: Chose this property because it is on the grand canal, what it doesn't state clearly is that only 6 rooms actually have a view, the rest have windows looking onto eachother inside the building.
9,7 Excellent
Pros: Everything, it was charming.
Cons: No points at all.
8,8 Excellent
Pros: The hotel is beautiful, like staying in a museum. Having breakfast surrounded by frescoes was a unique experience
Cons: I asked the front desk to help me book a train to Florence the night prior to checking out. They told me that they could not do this for me, but not to worry as the trains don't sell out anyway. Unfortunately when we showed up at the train station, the train to Florence we needed was sold out ruining our plans for the afternoon. I stayed in two other hotels on this stay in Italy and in both the staff booked train tickets for me
9,2 Excellent
Pros: Location, staff, charm
Cons: Rooms are a bit tired but nevertheless the price/quality ratio is outstanding and therefore I cannot complain about the rooms
7,1 Good
Pros: Location on the canal was great but a good 1/2 hour walk to the St Marks area.
Cons: Very very expensive restaurant
10,0 Excellent
Pros: The service was excellent. The hotel is just absolutely stunning. The tranquility. The room service out of this world, so efficient. The view so beautiful especially from the roof terrace. Breakfast delicious.
Overview Reviews
With its heritage setting on Riva degli Schiavoni, Hotel Danieli dominates the Venetian lagoon with spectacular views of the Grand Canal and islands. Also overlooking the Palazzo Ducale, the hotel is just steps away from Ponte Dei Sospiri and Piazza San Marco. The three palaces which comprise the hotel date from the 14th, 17th and 19th Centuries: Palazzo Dandolo in Venetian Gothic style, once home to the noble Dandolo family; Palazzo Casa Nuova, previously the city’s treasury; and Palazzo Danieli Excelsior, featuring guestrooms with balconies overlooking the lagoon on its upper floors. The three palaces house a rich collection of precious art and antiques that play witness to the city’s history, blended with contemporary comforts to meet the needs of cultured global travelers. Essential to the Danieli experience is its Restaurant Terrazza Danieli and cuisine concept, a magical voyage for the senses which retraces the oriental influences of spice traders and blends them with ingredients from the lagoon.

Pros: The hotel is 2 minute walk from st Marc square once you know where you are. We booked a canal view room and we could see the bridge of sigh out of our window. The staff was helpful and got our room ready early because my toddler daughter was very tired after a long travel day. Hotel staff also gave great food recommendations. 9,2 Excellent
Pros: - Right in the opposite of the train station. Super convenient. - Good breakfast at a very reasonable price. - Parking right in front of the hotel. Convenient!
Cons: - It's a bit difficult to find if you are driving. We missed it once and guessed our way to the parking. The parking is not part of the hotel so there is no signs. But hotel has a discounted price.

Pros: Very cooperative staff and explain everything you need to go to Venice especially Mr. Paulo , very close from rail station within walking distance. Good breakfast.
Cons: Old room but clean, very small lift
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast is good and cheap. They also offer complimentary water, coffee, sparkling water, croissant.
Cons: The room is too small. No double room with a sofa bed.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: The room is very clean, modern concept and decoration. There is a machine nespresso, with different flavours of coffee. Is very, very close to the parking lot (they offer a discount in the ticket, you must to let they know where you parked). The train station is just crossing the street. The breakfast is great, an amazing sort of options. The staff is very kind
Cons: Everything was perfect
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Informative and friendly staff. Kind regards for Fransesco, thank you for your service
8,0 Excellent
Pros: This hotel is right across the street from the Mestre train station. Each morning, when I woke up, I would just buy a cheap train ticket and cross over to the main island of Venice. This was ideal for me, as staying on the mainland saved me hundreds of dollars and was still very convenient. If you have to stay on the mainland like I did, the Tritone is a good location with good rooms, a good staff, and everything you'd need as a base camp to explore Venice.
Cons: There only thing that I didn't like is that the surrounding area is very drab, but I didn't expect more. I knew that it wasn't going to be in a very fancy area, but that really didn't bother me because the location was ideal for what I needed.
9,6 Excellent
Pros: Very good location. Easy access to public transport. Convinient car parking. Staff was helpful esply Davide
9,6 Excellent

Cons: N/A
7,9 Good
Pros: Daniele at reception was amazing allowing us to check in early and he was very lovely
Cons: The beds were a bit too firm for my liking
9,6 Excellent
Pros: This was the third time we stayed at this hotel over a period of 6 years. The location is great - right opposite to the Mestre train station. The bed was quite large - much bigger than a standard double bed and the room and bathroom were very clean. The staff at the reception were all very helpful with particular mention to "Davide" who was the first to greet us on our arrival. The breakfast was ample and with a good variety of items including fresh fruit. The room was equipped with two USB charging sockets so all that was needed to charge the phone or tablet was a connecting wire
Cons: Here there is only a minor point worth mentioning. It had been my impression that when I booked the hotel the breakfast was included but the receptionist informed me that this was an additional €4 per person per day (in my case €8 x 7 days). I made no arguments and paid it though I will make sure to check this in future.

Pros: Great location! Close to main attractions Excellent breakfast
Cons: Our room location was toward the back alley and was noisy. The air conditioner was tune into heat for winter. But it wasnt cold enough outside. Had to leave windows open for fresh air and thats why it was noisy.
9,2 Excellent
Pros: The hotel is excellently located. We emailed ahead and they arranged gluten free breakfast options. The room was small but very traditional which we loved and had a modern bathroom!
Cons: One of the staff members Pier, was exceptionally rude. We nearly missed our boat due to his moodyness! Otherwise I would highly recommend!
10,0 Excellent
Pros: This hotel was right at the water taxi station. As soon as we walked off the boat we were there. It had a great restaurant and our room overlooked a beautiful church. Aside from that we were a few minutes walk from all the major sites int he area.
Cons: No
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Location was perfect
Cons: Cleaning supplies had a very strong fragrance
10,0 Excellent
Pros: We received a room in the back portion of the building, away from the main building that directly overlooks the lagoon. The room we received was still very nice, and we got it for a great price (seemingly way less than I would expect for this location), so I think that's totally fair. This hotel is literally a 5 minute walk from San Marco Square, the main tourist center for Venice. The room was "Venetian" in decorations but not old feeling, the bathroom was very lovely. It had a rainfall shower and a bidet and all was spotless. Our room had a small balcony just overlooked a tiny courtyard. I don't think all rooms had this, but i did enjoy it. I thought the bed was a little hard at first but I ended up getting a good night's sleep. Also, there were two extra pillows in the wardrobe, which is an uncommonly nice touch. Breakfast was included and was much better than I expected. There were pastries, nice cheeses, soft scrambled eggs, prosciutto, fresh juices, yogurt, granola, fresh fruit, and of course coffee. It was all high quality. We found it very convenient that the Water Buses stop right in front of the hotel, we were able to take the Alilaguna boat straight from the airport and drop our bags with almost no extra walking.
Cons: It was great that the room had air conditioning, however it never got quite down to the temperature we set it to. We realize we are americans used to sleeping with our room cold, so some air con was better than none, but if you sleep hot it might be a slight concern. I've read elsewhere about italy setting limits to the amount of air conditioning that can be used, so I'm wondering if that is the reason rather than the unit not keeping up.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: breakfast was the best. super location, 1 block to St. Marks square.
Cons: small room

9,6 Excellent
Pros: We were coming off a ship and they kick you off by 8 and we were at the hotel before 9am. The hotel was more than willing to keep our luggage. The room and bathroom were spacious and both were clean. Bed was comfortable and did its job for 2 nights. I’m a cold sleeper and the A/C worked okay. Took a while for the room to cool. The room requires your key in a slot to make everything work. Key comes out and lights and A/C shut off within 30 seconds. Receptionists were kind and helpful and provided a map to catch the bus to Venice. We had breakfast included and it did the job. Eggs, toast, breads, fruits, meats, cheeses, juice, coffee, tea and pastries to choose from. The photos on website are accurate. The location was ideal as I knew I didn’t want to stay on Venice Island. A short walk to the bus stop and a 15 minute ride to the island.
Cons: We were so tired the first night we went down to restaurant in lobby. It was terrible. Everyone was complaining, service was slow and food was not good. I got the basic pasta. It was hard, had no flavor but it was full of salt. Looked like box cheese mix and tasted like salted cardboard. I got sick while I was watching everyone else pick around their food. Our waiter was rude when I told her the meal wasn’t good. After 10 minutes she slammed down the menu and said order something else. I didn’t. You’re best bet is to eat before you get in or walk to pizza place around the corner.

Overview Reviews
The Grand Hotel Dei Dogi, Autograph Collection, housed in the old and prestigious Rizzo-Patarol noble palace, is an excellent location for completely immersing yourself in the enchanting atmosphere of Venice. The hotel's XVII-century façade has a portal and loggia on overlapping levels and is hidden a secret garden, the only one to be found in a hotel in Venice, which is perfectly preserved and faces onto the lagoon. The Grand Hotel Dei Dogi, Autograph Collection combines contemporary comfort with the ‘period luxury’ of the precious marble, splendid frescoes and Majestic chandeliers. Located in Sestiere Cannaregio, it is close to the center but at arm’s length from the more crowded thoroughfares and thus, shows the true face of Venice and its inhabitants.

It’s wonderful and spacious garden is a very nice surprise in the middle of Venice. Very friendly and helpful staff. Food is good with nice , adequate selection for a breakfast buffet. The room we were in faces the canal, and is very spacious, clean with good temperature control.
Cons: It’s a bit of a walk from St. Mark’s Square but the quiet surroundings when you arrive in the hotel is a nice welcome from the busy activity around the square.
5,4 Okay
Pros: Take two stars away and it is a great 3star hotel. Maintenance level of hotel and the key feature, the garden are more then poor. The rooms near the water are unacceptably badly isolated, you can hear nextdoor people breath. Breakfast staff is rude and unprofessional, even for a 1star hotel NEVER AGAIN!
Cons: Garden room breakfast staff
