Location. Large rooms. Parking.
Check in - arrived at 3pm, had to wait 90 minutes for room to be ready!! Room not serviced each day until evening, sometime between 6pm & 9pm. Reception staff: very little apology for very long check in wait, when asked about room servicing, very matter of factly told it wasn't done until evening (seriously?! never experienced this in any of my travels before), not asked if we had a good stay or anything like that when checking out.
Our room was not cleaned on both days of our stay until the evening, I contacted reception and was told this was normal practice for the hotel. So after coming back to hotel in the late afternoon the bed was unmade, no fresh towels, no clean mugs or top up of refreshment tray supplies etc. Very poor service.
Very nice staff and property and food was great!
The rooms were excellent size with wet room. Rooms very clean and service was excellent. Breakfast was amazing and dinner was awesome. Would definitely book again
Breakfast reasonably good and decent selection. However, I noticed that several of the chairs had crumbs on them and had not been wiped down after the previous diner had left. These were at tables set for the next diner
Hotel decor in public areas and bedroom was showing signs of age - would have benefited from redecoration and upgrading the furniture, including the mattress on the bed, which sank in the middle. The worst aspect of the stay was that I returned to my room on the Tuesday, after having stayed on the Monday night, to find that the room had not been serviced. This was at 17.45, and after I had been out for over 10 hours. The receptionist stated this was because the hotel was full - a comment that I would dispute, based on the number of cars in the car park and diners in the breakfast room on both mornings of my stay. More likely, I think, that there were not enough staff employed to service bedrooms. I don't consider an unserviced room to be acceptable at 17.45, after a day of work - what are guests supposed to do? Go out again...or sit and watch the cleaner tidy the room? No apology was given by the receptionisit either - she did ask if I wanted the room servicing and I said no, not at that time, for the reasons stated above.
