It was close to a spectacular waterfalls and hiking routes.
On arrival, I had to wait for quite some time before anyone showed up at the “reception” , the bar of the pub. While I was being ignored, other guests arrived and asked by the then showing up chap,how he could help them . I said that Iwas sorry , but I’d been waiting quite a bit longer. Right after check in he informed me that the kitchen would stop serving food at 8.30pm ( I arrived at 7.45pm) He showed me to the room, forgot the keycard downstairs, ran downstairs, all the while rushing .The restaurant seemed busy and he informed me they had new staff. I got my suitcase, which to his credit he offered to carry upstairs, but knowing how busy he was I declined. Coming down , I observed some patrons ordering at the table some at the bar, so I enquired which would suit him. At the table was supposedly fine. I picked up a menu, waited for a looooong time, then went to the bar to order there. Oh, and Wifi is charged at a pound- which is okay , but just added to the unwelcoming experience. Again, I was being ignored for quite some time while he was busy serving drinks. I waited patiently for him to finish . Some new patrons arrived and he offered to serve them , looking at me staying “ I’ll be right with you.” At this point I’ve had enough had enough and just went up to the room, which was dingy with stained walls, carpets, grimy soap dispensers, dirt on the floor and a very grotty water kettle. Thank goodness the bed had mattress and pillow protectors. I slept alright, skipped breakfast and was out by 8am. Checking my accounts tonight I saw an additional charge of one pound- no idea for what ...wifi was paid for in cash...
