The room, location, staff
Strong point of the hotel is the location, close to a couple of parks and lots of bars and restaurants in a nice lively little area of Paris. Bed was comfortable and hotel was clean. Staff were friendly, but it doesn't really work having receptionist on ground floor trying to manage breakfast in the basement.
Room was a little tired, broken sink unit, broken plug etc. Mirror was in a weird place - in the corner, by the luggage rack so you can't actually sit in front of it. Breakfast was an addition €12 per day - I should really have asked for a refund after day one, but I decided to give them a chance. Stale mini croissants, rubber scrambled eggs and cold frankfurters on a small plate in a chafing dish that was not turned on/stone cold. A microwave was provided, but I can only imagine what that would have done to the already rubber eggs. Hot drinks from a machine - impossible to get sufficiently hot water for tea. Each day they ran out of bread, even though there was only a handful of guests. So €12 for a tepid cup of tea, a glass of juice, and the tail end of a baguette - not a great way to start the day. Lighting in the basement/breakfast area also extremely dim.
Nothing really. It’s not or should not be a 3 star property. Not sure how they rate it, but in the States it will not qualify for a 1 star...
Everything. Just not even sure where to start, but the worst was when it said on the website (booking.com) that breakfast and WiFi were included, but it turned out they were not, we had to pay separately for everything. Just awful all around, stay away.
Generally decent hotel, however, location is very bad and rooms are not sound proof! It’s very noisy during days and nights! Also view isn’t the best, unless you like seeing naked grandpas.
The staff was amazing, super friendly and it was fairly inexpensive for Paris.
price, comfort, silence and quality were very good for a nights stay. had much worse in Paris
shower very small and difficult to close door unless squeezing against taps.
