I don't know why, but the hotel upgraded our room for free, so it was a big room in the 5th floor with 2 balconies with beautiful view to the Gare the'Lest station. We had clean towels every day, and it was warm, clean and peaceful to relax and rest, even though it was in a very busy área. The door just right next to the hotel is a supermarket open until midnight, so it was wonderful to buy all the snacks we wanted to eat in the room just before getting in the hotel. And I felt safe in that área.
On the last day of our stay, it was raining a lot. So we decided to call reception and ask if it was possible to check out later. They said yes, we could have the room until 3pm for another 30€. So far, everything is fine and I have nothing to complain about. Until they made me take off my comfy pajamas and put on some clothes just so I could go down to the hotel reception and pay those 30€, because the payment had to be made immediately and it couldn't wait for when we hand over the room key. Plus, they were having construction work at the reception and called us to the room to let us know that we were going to be without electricity for a while. And as if that still wasn't enough, despite the "Do not disturb" sign on the door, a maid insisted on entering the room when my boyfriend and I were in bed, just to confirm what we had eaten from the mini bar. In short, we paid 30€ extra to stay in the room comfortably snuggle with each other, but that's not what happened. I was disappointed.
Great location. Clean and comfy room with a balcony! Shamim at the front desk was amazing!
great location with many places around to eat , friendly staff, clean, modern and nicely decorated. better than i expected.
faint sounds coming deep from underground i think from Metro but was not that bad. we still managed to sleep comfortably.
We have stayed at this hotel three times now, and enjoy it. This time we forgot to ask for a courtyard room - so with the window slightly open there was a lot of traffic noise - this part of Paris never seems to sleep! Staff welcome is always friendly and efficient, and they are willing to give any help needed. Breakfast is very good, with an attractive breakfast area, attentive staff and plenty of variety. We appreciate the historic building, with its amazing Parisian doors, yet the hotel has been modernised within, with very comfortable beds, modern shower and tiled bathroom, and spotless bedlinen and towels. Very close to the Gare de l'Est and Metro and buses for exploring Paris.
We liked everything about our stay
Very convenient to the train station! The breakfast was very nice!
There was remodeling going on and a mess in the hallway. Somebody had left their dog in the room alone and the dog kept howling at a very late hour. When I called the front desk, the agent snapped at me at probable frustration from what I imagine the many calls he’d already received. Still, not an excuse to snap at a patron of the hotel. The bathroom had not been cleaned completely and the shower gel had been been refilled. No shampoo or conditioner. A previous tenant had left their own personal body gel in the shower and it was still there.
