Pros: This is a true gem of a property. The pub is a real local and has a friendly atmosphere. The layout is really nice, from sitting in the bar area , to sitting in a quiet area. Beer is first class. The owners are warm and welcoming and clearly have worked hard to make it what it is. Staff are very friendly. Food is tasty and pried well. The bedroom, well I thought it had just been decorated as it was spotless. Not the case.....just high standards.

Cons: The room was very hot, and there was no fan. I also found the bed to be slightly uncomfortable but i'm sure this may just be down to preference. The food was also very expensive, and I didn't actually think it was all that good. However, my partner really enjoyed his food. (dinner)

Cons: First room offered was freezing cold due to draughty windows which didn’t shut properly and a radiator which didn’t work. It was obviously a room for wheelchair users(we are not). The bathroom was basically a disabled persons wetroom had a plastic chair and hand held shower. How anyone could access power points under the small table without crawling on hands and knees is beyond me. On informing reception about the coldness, we were offered a different room which was better. Still had poor fitting windows but the radiator was working. It was a good job I checked our bill as there was a mistake and we had been overcharged to the tune of £170. This was rectified and a revised invoice emailed to me as requested

Cons: I was held up on the M25 so called ahead to find out what time the restaurant closed. 9pm I was told which was fine as I was likely to be there by 8pm. But then I had a call back to advise that there was no chef and the landlord was doing the cooking but was going out so the restaurant was closed. Not a huge problem as I had something on the way before I arrived. But in the morning because I had not pre-booked breakfast, the kitchen was closed again! I was not aware of this the night before.

Mattresses are worn out and need replacing, The shower and the cubicle need updating or at least a deep clean to the outside of the shower door. The bathroom is otherwise clean and tidy, with the all tiling in good condition. No food on offer on the Saturday night we were there.

Went to bed earlyish as Id had a long day - had to wait until the bar closed for the noise to stop then somebody started some music in the bar which I had to wait to finish before it got quiet. Was planning to eat in the pub but this was cancelled at the last minute, got sent to another pub down the road - very nice but twice the cost of a George and Horn dinner. Full English breakfats was £8 - I only wanted tea / toast for breakfast but they wouldnt reduce £8 cost so I went elsewhere

Cons: The noise and no apology. There was obviously a massive problem in the bar the night I stayed. The police and ambulance service were present and I understand that one of the guests was arrested. I didn't get to sleep until gone 3am. Later that morning, I thought someone might of apologised for the comotion, but nothing came, except for, a very greasy breakfast, cooked by a young lady who was more concerned about having a smoke and constant chattering on her mobile phone and telling whoever she was talking to about the problems and drama of the night before. A disgusting experience and I might add, a frightnening one too.
