FIND ANOTHER HOTEL. When I complained to the front desk that the stopper in my tub wasn't working, I was told repairs would be made, but may not work. The staff member added, "THE BUILDING WILL BE TORN DOWN NEXT YEAR." That explained why the shabby condition of the entire hotel was far below Hyatt standards. The location and service were great, everything else was far below Hyatt standards. Some facilities in my room didn't work. I specifically requested a room with a tub. Cons (-) Our room was rough. Torn wallpaper, threadbare carpet, lights didn’t work right, etc... All said and done, we booked the room for a total of $375/night but in our opinion, not worth more than $200/night.

Pros (+) Pretty standard hotel. Nothing outstanding about the hotel. The location is great and convenient to just about anything in New York
Cons (-) The housekeeping department was bad. I called three times for towels one evening. They never came. Had to get them off the cart the next day. Question I asked at front desk and concierge kept getting passed around.

Pros (+) The location cannot be beat for fast access to everywhere in NYC.
Cons (-) The hotel is tried and outdated. The whole thing needs a complete makeover. Even the windows need additional insulation or replacement as the noise from traffic below is uncomfortable at times. The rooms feel tired and outdated, with weird old wall paper, leaky faucets, embarrassing old fiber-board armoires for closets and window trims which have rotted out.
