Very old facilities, poor isolation between rooms, I booked it only because they have a car park, in this price category there are plenty other hotels in the centre. Overpriced.
Reception staff were very helpful and good secure parking. Loads of good bars and restaurants close by ( within 5 mins walk)
Room was a bit basic and looked as though it was undergoing a modernisation program. Brand new double glazed windows and shutters but evidence of water leaks from shower and upstairs. Interesting building but quite noisy.
The location was excellent for walking to all the main attractions. The front foyer/reception was attractive. The glass elevator was a treat and the broad central stairwell was a pleasant sight. Parking was also on site behind a secure door. The staff were all friendly and helpful.
The tv didn't work, the room was a little small. In addition they charged 10euros for parking and the breakfast was basic and overpriced for what it was. The hotel is noisy and it is possible to hear too much.
This hotel exceeded my expectation. I was fearful on account of the bad reviews, but in the event was pleasantly surprised. I spent 3 nights here and was perfectly content. I was in town for a course, and didn't really need to stay in Nantes as I live an hour away. However I decided to book an inexpensive hotel to use as a base to explore the city. I would like to make the following observations; - You get what you pay for. Many reviewers suggest that the place could do with a makeover; but then you wouldn't be able to book a simple room in the centre of Nantes for under €80 euros. - The staff were welcoming, lovely, helpful and trilingual. - The room was clean, the bathroom was clean. - The television worked, the free wifi worked well enough to stream Netflix, the bedside lights were perfect for reading. - The shower was hot - excellent water pressure and no flooding. The bathroom light / mirror were perfect for applying make-up. - The room had a lovely big window with double doors that opened over a quiet courtyard. - The location was excellent, right by a tram stop, restaurants, shopping, main sights. - As a solo female returning late at night I felt safe and was always pleased to get back to my cosy little room. - I spent one day studying at the big desk in the corner by my window. It was peaceful and bright. - The location was quiet, the bed was comfortable and I slept well. - I didn't have breakfast and there are no kettle facilities - but the bounty of Nantes is just outside the door. - I wasn't thrilled with the brown blanket in fairness, but it was sandwiched between crisp clean white sheets. This is not a fancy hotel, but the main interiors hark to a splendid if now faded glory. The room was perfectly adequate for all the above reasons.
Clean big room
