the service at the counter was really bad, there was a line with 30 people waiting to pick up the rental and only one agent was there doing contracts, and no manager to talk to, also when returned car they charged for milage I never drove when I ask the agent why he told this is from the computer and if I don't like it I could come back another day when the manager is back, overall service is bad and I would not recumbent Avis or budget at Montreal airport2,0 Poor

Pick up and drop off were easy for an off site airport location. The car was in very good shape.Cons:
Many hidden fees. The total was more than double the original quote price. During paperwork I had even asked what the new price would be with the mandatory insurance, and I was told the quote plus the insurance which was a price far less than what I ended up being charged. If you rent from them, demand an invoice in advance so you know exactly what you'll be paying. I personally would not rent from them again.2,0 Poor

I specifically made my reservation two weeks in advance because I needed a minivan, however when I arrived to EZ Rent a Car, there were none available, and no reasonable accommodations or compensation was offered. They didn't seem to care, at all. This is unacceptable and I will never do business with EZ Rent a Car again.2,0 Poor

Nothing. This was the worst car rental experience I've ever had. They did not have the car (minivan) that I reserved. Worse yet, the person at the counter (bald guy) was shockingly rude and started yelling at me. I've never seen or experienced anything like this before and hopefully never again.Cons:

My family's arrival time was affected by a cancellation by the airline. There was NOTHING we could do about it, and were able to get on the next flight to Montreal, arriving shortly after 7pm. When we were booked on the later flight, I called Economy rental car to let them know of our new arrival time. The person who took the call told me that they close at 7pm and they would not wait. I asked him what I should do, since we rented a mini-van to haul our entire family, and he told me to call any other rental car company at the airport. Do you have any idea what a mini-van rental costs same day? I checked online, the prices were $400-$500 more.......When we arrived at the airport, the new company we chose gave us a good rate, and said they stayed open till 2am!! It was my mistake to ever select Economy, and I WILL NEVER use Economy Rental Car EVER AGAIN.2,0 Poor

This place needs to shut down as soon as possible. Nobody should reserve a car from here. Others have written about similar experience. We never received the car we reserved. We took a taxi to the address in the confirmation email and it was abandoned. Strike one. We took a taxi to the address provided over the phone by Economy, the three of us in the car with smart phones couldn’t locate it. Strike two. I called multiple times asking for either a refund or for someone to come to our location and pick us up. I was hung up on by “Sam”. I’m pretty sure that’s not his real name since he wouldn’t give me his full name. “Sam” must have been hired off the street. I don’t know how he has a job, I hope he doesn’t anymore after cursing me out over the phone. We had to take a taxi back to the airport and rent from an actual establishment.2,0 Poor

The car was priced $77 for two days but been charged $190.30 for two days.They ask you to get insurance from them otherwise you can’t take the car and you end up paying insurance and other hidden charges more than the car rent.Even the insurance was basic which I took from them.Never get the car from them you will regret it and will be shocked like me to pay the heavy bill.Enterprise Rent-A-Car

The people that work at the front desk are terrible. The lady that give me the keys and did all the paperwork barely wanted to work that morning, and every question She did not answer it well. Also I could not understand her at all. They don’t check the car in front of you, they just make you sign that everything is fine with the car without seeing it.6,4 Okay

I picked the car at airport and was told I could drop it at any of the 2 locations downtown (with a map). What they did not tell me is that those 2 locations are not in business anymore...After searching for a while and calling roaming at my expenses I found 1 new location. When I arrived they gave me a whole story about how I shouldn't pick up the car late. - the rental was in Montreal, Canada (it usually snows quite a bit in December) and there was no snow brush in the rental I had to buy one - windows were always fogged up - I've been driving in winter conditions for 25 years and never had such a bad experience8,0 Very Good

The staff was generally kind and helpful to interact with when needed. Cars were comfortable to ride in.Cons:
Did not have my promised car (economy) or similar (compact). Was offered a minivan, which is insane as I'm by myself in a foreign country and don't need something large to increase accident likelihood. Was okay with BMW X1 as it's a very small SUV, until the warning light came on 45min into rental saying IT'S 500KM OVERDUE FOR BRAKE PAD REPLACEMENT. Had to return it, held car for half day of rental and then given Jeep (only option given); ride was fine but uses more gas than I wanted, still too big a car for one person. Upon dropoff, was clear they had only one shuttle despite two full shuttles of people waiting to get to airport. Had to take a cab out of concern of missing flight. Also worth mentioning that during my three trips to the rental location, saw zero compact cars on lot; saw almost entirely Jeeps. Would recommend a metric added to KAYAK displaying chances of being FORCED to take an "upgrade", as some people don't want these larger cars that clearly make up the bulk of their fleet. Not certain this car rental company's location relies too heavily on the concept of repeat business.4,4 Mediocre
