The bed was comfy and the room spacious. The room service gal was super nice too.
Check in was at 3pm, we finally got over to the hotel at 5pm and were told our room was not ready. The staff said they would put a rush on the cleaning and that it would only be another 30 minutes. My husband went in twice after the 30 minutes and was told it still wasn’t ready. Finally, we get checked in and given our keys. We get up to the room and it was in fact cleaned but one of the trash cans had not been emptied. Then, when we ordered room service it took over 45 minutes to get it to us. The AC was also not working regardless of the fact we followed the instructions above the thermostat and our room got up to 82 degrees with the sliding glass door open. Subpar overall at best.
A Faded Jewel
The Edgewater is an iconic hotel on the edge of the Clark Fork. Unfortunately, age has taken its toll. The cost of two nights exceeded $530. Here were the issues with our stay: 1. The hotel contains few of the amenities one expects nowadays. There is no refrigerator, microwave, or USB ports. There is no continental breakfast. Our simple breakfast in the restaurant ran us about $25. 2. $530 gets you a room that looks out over a parking lot and pipes and such. If you wish to look at the river, expect to pay quite a bit more. 3. Our room experienced a leak in the closet some time ago. (See pictures). It was profound enough to warp the shelf above the closet hangar that most of it is unusable now. There's no evidence this was ever addressed. 4. We had to call down for a blanket the first night as there were no extras. Perhaps it got wet up on the shelf earlier. 5. After our first night, we left in the early a.m. with our children to go see the town. There is no sign to indicate our absence and for staff to clean. We returned at 3 p.m. to an untouched room. At 4 p.m., housekeeping knocked. As our kids were asleep, we didn't opt for cleaning. Asked about delay the maid indicated "We're slammed." The hotel being a near capacity is not some surprise. Sufficient staff should be on duty to get the job done. 6. Key cards became inoperative after the first night. I had to slog back to the desk to fix them. Needless to say, we'll book elsewhere next trip.
I would like the pool and hot tub to be open later
Room too hot
