Pros (+) The lobby was beautiful, the hotel had a lot of character. Room service was great. The staff were very friendly. Walking distance to plenty of restaurants.
Cons (-) Couldn't open any windows, which made my small room feel very claustrophobic. Leaving the hotel after dark was a bit scary - it feels like a rough part of town. During the day it's ok.

Pros (+) The location is great and the rooms are pretty basic. You get what you pay for.
Cons (-) There was no "do not disturb" sign to put on the door so housekeeping would let themselves in without so much as a single knock. I could have been naked. Noise from the hall filtered into the room so as a light sleeper I had trouble with that. Wanted to have a look around the hotel because of the heritage but got told off by one of the staff.
