Cosy family run riad in a quiet street away from all the noise and mopeds, very good breakfast, amazing bedroom and incredibly comfortable mattress - easily one of the best we've slept on! My partner and I enjoyed the rooftop; we were hoping to socialise there during evenings, but we generally got back late so didn't have the opportunity to do so. Would highly recommend if you're on a short break to visit the souks and attractions as the location is brilliant.
The hotel can be a little tricky to find and is only accessible on foot from the closest square where taxis drop you off. I highly recommend you organise a drop off through the hotel - we got our own taxi from the airport which was cheaper, but in the end had to pay a 'local guide/kids' to take us to the hotel on foot. Once you get to the hotel, tag the location on google maps to find your way again - we got lost on the second night and ended up paying a group of kids (again) to take us there!
We planned to stay in this place for one day, but after getting on the roof of the riad terrace, we realized that we would stay for three nights. The riad is very stylish, beautiful and well maintained. The repair is new, the room was large and clean, and the bathroom was pleasantly surprised! The staff is very sensitive to any requests, always helped in everything. Host Isabelle is a very kind and amazing woman, her delicate and refined taste is felt in everything. In every detail. The small pool helped to cool off from the debilitating heat.
Riad Hizad is a wonderful oasis in the labyrinth of Marrakesh old town. Within 5 minutes of arriving we'd been briefed on where to go, what to see, how not to get ripped off and how to navigate the maze of pedestrianised streets. My wife and I felt instantly comfortable and secure in the surrounding and I can image it’d be a fantastic place to take a young family. The property is fantastic, Isabella has renovated this with amazing attention to detail. Modern art, sculptures and oddities are littered throughout original Moroccan features, native carpentry and plastering techniques. For us the roof terrace typified Isabella’s approach where she's turned a relatively small space into an area that has a native Berber tent area, a summer house area, 2 BBQ's, sun loungers, a swimming pool decorated with lights, plant and lime trees whilst still making it feel real spacious and trendy. This place is a real treat, 10/10 without hesitation. Thanks for having us.
Our room was wonderfully decorated and the sheets were amazing, but in the absence of a lot a natural light because of the size of the windows, a bit more artificial light might be nice.
Beautiful Riad , great location , exquisite decoration and very helpful staff, I would for sure stay there again if I come back to Marrakech
Lovely quiet little spot in a great location. Very welcoming and attentive staff - thank you
