It was our first time in Marocco and Marrakech. So naturally, it was a culture shock at first. But the warmth of the people and the unspoiled beauty of the place and the culture made us fall in love with Marrakech. The Riad Chamali is a beautiful place, very true to its roots, a privately owned villa with a poool/garden in the middle. The food was exceptional. The personnel was awesome, Yassin is a very resourceful and helpful young man and Rashid is the friendliest person we ever met. Together with Mouta, the manager of the Hotel made us feel very comfortable and all our wishes were fulfilled. I must also add that I requested gluten free meals and it was all provided as I wished for. The quality of our stay surpassed our expectations, we stayed with our 3yr. old and were happy to spend time on the terrace overlooking the city basking in the sun as well. Would definitely consider visiting again.
No complaints. Visiting Marrakech you have to have an open heart and be willing to experience a different culture which in its own right is magnificent.
Wonderfull decoration, great food at Mama Beldi, and the best staff. Landscape is beautifull from terrace
It’s a cozy and very beautiful riad in the quiet part of the medina. The room was very clean, plenty of room and storage space. Great location, 10 minutes walk to the main square. The staff was great and breakfast was good (maroccan style, sweet).
Room was nice.
Hot water didnt work the first day. Breakfast is not very good, only some bread with marmelade. Noisy birds close to the room both at night and early the morning. Also we asked for a taxi in the mosque closeby which never arrived. Also, it is located a bit far away from the city center 15min walking.
The Riad was absolutely beautiful. The rooms were super clean, comfortable, and it was a quiet retreat from the busy Médina. The staff were all extremely friendly and constantly had smiles on their faces. It seemed much more like a family vibe rather than just work. We thoroughly enjoyed our time lounging on the terrace with a pot of tea. While the Riad was fully booked, we seemed to almost always have the dining area to ourselves for breakfast as well as the terrace at night, which made it feel rather special. While we didn’t have any dinners on site, the food smelled absolutely amazing and if we had more time in the city would have surely tried a meal there. The breakfast was quite large and contained all of the traditional Moroccan food that you could ask for. Fresh juice, tea, bread, jams, fruit. We loved it each of the four mornings we were there.
The location was fairly close to the Médina, about a 20 minute walk, however finding the Riad was a little bit of a challenge on our initial arrival. After the first day we got our bearings and could easily work through the little maze to get to the Riad. But I would suggest messaging the Riad before you arrive for more detailed instructions on how to find the place. You will inevitably run into a local that will either help you find the location and then ask for money, or....run into a local that will forcefully tell you that you are going in the wrong direction or not allowed to be there. We found this to be the case almost any time we were outside the immediate vicinity of the medina, so it’s definitely not a reflection of the Riad in any way, just be prepared with detailed instructions because GoogleMaps will not be accurate to help you find your way.
A stay at Riad Chamali places you in the heart of Marrakech, within a 15-minute walk of Bahia Palace and El Badi Palace. A roundtrip airport shuttle is provided for a surcharge (available 24 hours), and self parking (subject to charges) is available onsite.
