8,2 Excellent
Pros: Very clean and decent location in relation to Venice. Staff was helpful regarding the area as it was our first time visiting Venice. Breakfast was good, but very pricey.
Cons: Room would not cool more than 22 C, which was too warm at night.
1,0 Poor
Cons: very bad experience
8,3 Excellent
Pros: It is well located , right at the bus stop on the way to Venice which we preferred. Staff were nice and willing to help. Good breakfast and careful staff always made sure to fill in the empty trays.
Cons: It was all fine.
7,0 Good
Pros: Location/easy access to Venice Comfy bed Friendly staff Price
Cons: Very quiet/possibly time of year
4,0 Okay
Pros: I enjoyed the cleanliness of the rooms, the decor, and the view of the riverfront. The room gave me every indication to believe the place was high end.
Cons: The place seemed dead. All the lights in the hallways were off, the water in the shower fluctuated temperatures when used (like it hasn't been used for an extended period of time), I only bumped into one other guest in my building during my 1 day stay, and I could tell from the outside how many rooms were occupied - I'd say around 10% at best. This place was huge! Prior to arrival, I didn't think the size of the hotel would be a problem, but once I got there, I found it very annoying. The restaurant was in another building, and we had to go outside and around the waterfront to reach it. Reading the other reviews, I can confirm it's true - the service is mediocre at best. The staff provide seem to have no sense of urgency to help. Our dinner took very long they were unaccommodating. When I asked if I could add chicken to my pasta (which was not on the menu, but chicken and pasta as separate items were), they acted as if I had just walked into the catholic church and pissed on the baby Jesus himself. The service was slow. Upon checkout, I was told by the desk attendant the person with the authority to complete the task was unavailable and I had to wait 10 minutes. This place feels very understaffed. Given the small size of the staff, the seemingly nonexistent guests, the dim lighting and the infrequently used water pipes, I'd venture to guess NH is loosing some serious money on this investment. Granted, I did visit in May, which is probably a slower season.
8,0 Excellent
Pros: Architecture, breakfast, friendly staff
Cons: Outdated rooms, Stained carpet, paint chips and heating not controllable (boiling)

Cons: The hotel could have given us an upgrade seeing that we Hilton Honors members
9,0 Excellent
Pros: Loved the size and ambience of the rooms. A few of the facilities weren't available whilst I was there so do check this before booking. However the rooms made up for it, extra cozy. Also the transport to this hotel is awesome, makes adventuring Venice a lot easier
5,4 Okay
Pros: One very kind lady waiter at the lobby bar - she do her best for me to be fine and happy when I was there for my coffee. Also there is a free shuttle to Zattere and San Marco which is convenient.
Cons: It looks very luxury, cozy and chic on the pictures and in real it's not like this at all. That's the biggest disappointment. Very noisy and crowdy breakfast. All the hotel is with very strong air-condition that you can't stay without good clothes - I was with Summer clothes only. In the lobby you cant stay near to the window cause there is something called "executive lounge". I don't know why the need it. I order my breakfast in the room and it comes with a coffee glass with some scars of coffee - not well washed. The hotel at all and my rooms specially was dark with just one window which is not enough to have normal light in the room. There were 4-5 people queue on the reception to check-out (about lunch time). There is not option to go to the hotel from the airport or Tronchetto parking without taxi - about 85 euro one way from/ to Tronchetto. I dont think this hotel is well rated like value for money. I wouldn't go again there.
10,0 Excellent

3,1 Mediocre
Pros: It's at good location
Cons: The worst and rudest customer service ever seen. Do not go by pictures, in reality their rooms are very bad. It does not deserve even one star. I ended up making new reservation of an apartment by paying 200 euro per night. Moreover when I tried to cancel my old reservation via booking agency, they threatened us that we may have to leave their property. Now think of what you do when you are with the family on a vacation. Over commercialization has degraded quality everywhere. But this one is the worst. Please STAY AWAY from this hotel.
3,8 Mediocre
Pros: Good location that’s it!!!!
Cons: Staff was not helpful breakfast was really bad, room was tiny, bed was uncomfortable, the sockets were broken so we couldn’t our electronic devices, there was a bad smell in the room and bathroom, that wasn’t a 4 star hotel !!!

Pros: Very nice and clean hotel, very closed to everything we need in the city . I would definitely come back to this hotel the next time we need booking.
Cons: Met our expectation and very good experience.
4,8 Okay
Pros: Location is good
Cons: We were placed in what is called "the Annex" - never stay there - it is accessed by a dimly lit alley way filled with garbage - no evalators and no view whatsoever. The Hotel Rialto should be embarrassed to count this as part of their establishment.
10,0 Excellent

7,7 Good
Pros: Value for the money, decent free breakfast, comfortable room, helpful staff, allowed us to park the car for free in front of hotel since their small parking lot was full. direct public bus to venice next to the hotel with decent frequency although can be too crowded with locals
Cons: Shower doors did not close properly. Not the best location and hotel staff cautioned us about car break-in at public parking places near to the hotel. I would not call it 4 star based on US standards.

Pros: Location is very good, room is really good, very good staff. Breakfast is awesome
Cons: Nothing
9,0 Excellent
Pros: We loved the room decor. It was beautiful and very tasteful. The room was big and clean, as was the bathroom. The staff were very helpful and they even let us check in early. The location was great, a 2 minute walk to the bus station that took us directly to Venice in about 20-30 minutes. Breakfast was fine, even better if you're not vegan I guess, since they did have many sweet options. I asked for soy milk and if they had any vegan sweets and I was brought the milk and some vegan and gluten free granola. Would stay here again.
Cons: The staff at breakfast could have been nicer about the whole vegan thing but it wasn't a problem and they weren't rude or anything, just a smile wouldn't hurt. The shower in the bathroom didn't have a door, it's not that it was missing, it just didn't have one so when you showered it was next to impossible not to create a puddle of water next to the shower, which, by the way, didn't have the best water pressure. The hot water wasn't hot either, more like warm.
7,5 Good
Pros: Silent and clean room. Overall a nice stay and good value for money.
Cons: Breakfast was terrible.

Pros: The room was big and with a small balcony. The canal view room was more to a gondola parking space, but otherwise the view would be straight to another house. The breakfast was very good with plenty to choose from. The hotel is very close to Piazza San Marco, after we find the small path directly from the hotel to piazza, everything was very close.
Cons: The noise from the elevator was a bit annoying.

5,0 Okay
Pros: The hotel is old, but clean. I booked a superior double room with a view but I got a room divided by a locked door with another room. I requested a refund and got it. The rooms are old and not soundproof at all, so one can hear everything from the hall.
8,0 Excellent
Pros: Hotel was good with authentic Italian decor and bathroom.
Cons: We had two rooms reserved. One of the room had mild and water was leaking but the other one was fine.
3,8 Mediocre

5,0 Okay
Pros: Room is spacious
Cons: Distance from train station to the hotel is tedious. About half and hour walking from the station. Not recommended those with difficulty walking.
1,0 Poor
Cons: Mini fridge was overheating and was hot ( they tried to say this was on purpose, it’s not I have a mini fridge at home) booked a canal view and there was road works the whole time so we had a horrible vue, everything was closed and cancelled due to the corona virus but we were still charged top £ even though everything was closed and we had a bad view. Instead of the local businesses taking the hit the tourists do. Room was not sound proof, kept awake by guest next door coughing the whole night.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Quiet part of Venice but easy to access everywhere . We were there during the carnival and it was very local authentic feel to the festivity’s.
Cons: We were in a family room which was great .The sound proofing between rooms is not great although it did not bother us particularly I can imagine it might annoy some .
10,0 Excellent
Pros: room was very big and comfortable
7,1 Good
Pros: Good staff, they offered a nice complementary drink and room was spacious.
Cons: Very dark room (hard to read), no air conditioner and we could hear everything from the room near our. We couldn’t sleep for 2 nights because the couple in the room near our was screaming and singing until midnight. We only could sleep after asking reception to call them (they did it immediately).
10,0 Excellent
Pros: The breakfast is wonderful and I loved our room. We got one king sized bed, but there were two floors and it resembled a cozy cabin type! It was great!
Cons: It's a bit of a far walk from all of the touristy things, but that't not necessarily a bad thing

Pros: -Very Close to Mestre Railway Station (nearly 50 meters) -Kindly staff - Some design furniture inside - informal and nice restaurant
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Everything was perfect.
Cons: The only aspect I may describe as annoying was the noise caused by the doors slammed in other rooms.
7,0 Good
Pros: One more time at this hotel, one more positive review: Hotel Plaza can be regarded as a good option if you're planning day trips to Venice or, like me, you have a morning flight departing from Venice "Marco Polo" airport, and you want to make sure you won't miss it because of any inconvenience on your way to it. Conveniently located to both the Venezia-Mestre train station (right across the street) and the bus station (around 150-200 meters on the left, stepping out from the hotel entrance), you can easily catch a train to enjoy the overwhelming beauty of Venice old town, or take a shuttle bus service bound for the "Marco Polo" airport. My room, a Deluxe one located on a high floor, was large (less than usual, to tell the truth), clean, quiet, with a comfy bed, well appointed and fitted with a satisfactory range of amenities. Staff was ok and it didn't take long to check in/out. My room rate didn't include breakfast, so I don't have up-to-date news about it: in the past it used to be good, so give it a try...
7,9 Good
Pros: The location is excellent!
10,0 Excellent
Pros: All perfect
Cons: Everything was excellent
9,2 Excellent
Cons: Receptionist lacked simple knowledge of how we can get to the airport and how to pay for the bus. Also TVs has the functionality to cast however ours wouldn’t connect. Asked the same receptionist about this and they weren’t aware we could cast to the tv so offered no help.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: The location is fabulous. You can literally see the hotel from the train station. The staff was very kind and helpful-helped me get a taxi for an early morning flight-convenient ATM in lobby.
Cons: I would avoid the restaurant at the bottom - overpriced and staff is less than attentive.
8,8 Excellent
Pros: Excellent, convenient location. Close to shops & transport. Big, comfortable clean room. Pleasant, helpful staff.
Cons: Limited breakfast selection.
10,0 Excellent
Cons: Pillow selection one should be higher Shower curtain
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Very good!! Comparing to other hotels...
8,8 Excellent
Pros: Fantastic location - if I were ever to come to Venice again I would definitely stay here, and not on the main island. Perfectly situated opposite the Venice mestre train station, it takes ten minutes to get to the island, and also gives the option of exploring Italy without being seperate from the main landmass. Loved our night here at the Hotel Plaza. The staff particularly were lovely, and all spoke perfect English if you don’t have Italian in your wheelhouse.
Cons: Pillows were very firm in the bed, which was nice however both my partner and I woke up with a stiff neck. The room wasn’t immaculately clean, there were some stains on the bedding, walls and ceiling. Not the end of the world, looks like someone with some make up on their hands had touched all three, however wasn’t perfect. Regardless, location and staff made up for these issues and if you like firm pillows to sleep on, boy is this the hotel for you.
9,0 Excellent
Pros: Very clean room and throughout the public areas. Very comfy bed. Single room was larger than I had expected. Generous breakfast buffet. Very helpful staff in reception. Reliable WiFi throughout the property. Great location opposite the railway station, with train and also bus to Venice on the doorstep. Selection of good restaurants within 5 minute walk.

6,2 Good
Pros: Our room was clean. The staff was nice and helpful and, although small, the bar was pleasant and comfortable. Location was okay- it was about a 20-30 minute taxi ride to the airport.
Cons: The photo of the room shown in this ad definitely was NOT our room!!! Our room was small, the bed was really uncomfortable (way too hard) and the pillows were uncomfortable. I woke up during the night several times with back pain (from the hard mattress). This pain carried through the entire rest of the next day. The breakfast was so-so and set up poorly. There were probably 30 others in the room trying to get food and there was very little room between the occupied chairs at the tables and the food and drink stations. People were crowding others out just to get to those stations.
7,5 Good
Pros: Nice staff
Cons: Nothing

Pros: All facilities were excellent. Staff very helpful and friendly. The time here was against the background of Venice lockdown for Coronavirus . The staff handled many questions without panic. Brilliant. Food in resto was limited choice but good taste.

Pros: The hotel was only a short walk from the local train service. We rode the train out of Venice (the island) to Venice (the mainland). We chose staying on the mainland as it was less expensive, and the ride on the train wasn't too bad (except in the a.m. with all the commuters--very crowded). The breakfast wasn't fancy, but certainly adequate.

Pros: Staff were very helpful with giving us routes into Venice and a route to get back to the airport. Rooms were lovely and modern with both a bath and a shower. Location was actually very good. 15 mins by taxi from the airport, and a 5 minute walk to the train to the station/bus stop. We used the train to get into the main part of Venice, costing 1.35 EUR each! Train was less than 20 minutes. Massive supermarket opposite the hotel and a lovely pizzeria. All in all, no complaints at all.

Cons: When a staff brought my luggage up, I gave 1 euro, it may not be much, but I researched that you do not tip in Europe in general. Staff made sarcastic comments which was very rude. I will not go back here for this one guy, I was ripped off quite a bit in europe, so research and be firm to say "NO" when they ask for more money or tip.

Pros: Location , clean , breakfast, beautiful hotel
Cons: One of the front staff wasn’t very nice . He was kind of rude , seem to be bother when ask questions. I said to myself he’s an elderly man maybe around his 60’s mid 60’s and maybe he’s just tired today . But that same evening he was still not very friendly he was rude , seem to be upset or depressed!! Other than that the rest of the staff was amazing !!

Pros: Location
Cons: Room was extremely small and had ants shower stall was about one foot by one foot no tub
9,1 Excellent
Pros: Great location, 600 feet from train station . Old building ( this is a very old city ) but makes you feel as though you have gone back in time . Great food , service excellent. Front desk guys can be a little stuffy , but they upgraded us at no charge .
Cons: Beds could be queen or king , the 2 single beds are a joke . Pushing them together is pointless. A romantic hotel in one of the best cities on earth , should have bigger beds .

Pros: Room was initially cold but the AC was working well, bed was also relatively tidy, the room quite spacious.
Cons: The furniture in the room was, to put it mildly, quite dusty.. not sure whether they have seen a proper cleaning this year.
8,0 Excellent
Pros: Lovely friendly staff at reception and serving breakfast / Only 10 minute walk from the vaporetto and easy to find. Enjoyed exploring the Lido/ The receptionist recommended two great local restuarants which we really enjoyed.
7,1 Good
Pros: Price and location
Cons: Do to staffing issues the front desk was not manned upon our arrival, there were also other customers waiting. The only person available was a member of the housekeeping staff. Also the hotel parking was not onsite, it was located across the street at another hotel. This needs to be included in the booking information to prevent confusion.
5,0 Okay
Pros: The best thing about this hotel is the staff, especially Ruddi, who are extremly nice and hospital and ready to help with anything. They really go out of their way, as said, especially Ruddi, who is such a nice and warm and funny person, just meeting him makes the stay worthwhile ( ; The hotel has come of age a little and how nice your stay will be really depends on the room you get. Some are nice and like the pictures, others not. Breakfast is okay, apart from the juice machine...
Cons: My first room was very small, even though I booked a much bigger one. Some are in need of renovation. In my second one (I asked to move) the shower did not work and they were not able to fix it during my stay. All in all for the money it is not a bad choice and if you get one of the nice rooms even a good one.
9,2 Excellent
Pros: Good hot shower, comfy bed, lovely balcony patio area. The receptionist Rudy and breakfast server Josie were friendly and welcoming. 10 min walk from the vaporetto stop. Easy to find. Rudy recommended 2 fantastic resturants used by locals and very reasonable price.
Cons: Carpets worn. Coffee machine too weak for me!

Cons: I couldn't know, they never opened
Overview Reviews
With its heritage setting on Riva degli Schiavoni, Hotel Danieli dominates the Venetian lagoon with spectacular views of the Grand Canal and islands. Also overlooking the Palazzo Ducale, the hotel is just steps away from Ponte Dei Sospiri and Piazza San Marco. The three palaces which comprise the hotel date from the 14th, 17th and 19th Centuries: Palazzo Dandolo in Venetian Gothic style, once home to the noble Dandolo family; Palazzo Casa Nuova, previously the city’s treasury; and Palazzo Danieli Excelsior, featuring guestrooms with balconies overlooking the lagoon on its upper floors. The three palaces house a rich collection of precious art and antiques that play witness to the city’s history, blended with contemporary comforts to meet the needs of cultured global travelers. Essential to the Danieli experience is its Restaurant Terrazza Danieli and cuisine concept, a magical voyage for the senses which retraces the oriental influences of spice traders and blends them with ingredients from the lagoon.

Pros: We were in Venice for the Carnival and a Masked Ball. Everything humanly possible to influence was wonderful. We could not fault the hotel, its wonderful staff or Venice itself.
Cons: Well, coming home to the coronavirus situation and being quarantined because I had a slight cough that arose in N Italy wasn't great ; but that really wasn't anyone at the hotel's fault!

Pros: Probably the closest 5 star hotel to St Mark's Square.

5,1 Okay
Pros: The location near San Marco square cannot be beat. The lobby is beautiful.
Cons: The furnishings were old and disappointingly faded for the price we were paying. One of our first rooms was located next to the air conditioning motor on the roof and was insanely loud. To their credit, they did allow us to relocate that room. Upon check in, we were told breakfast was included in our room and the times it would be available. Disappointingly, after our party of six had started eating breakfast, we were then told that our rooms did not include breakfast. When I reminded them of what they had told us at checkin, they said I must have misunderstood. 15 euro per person when we could have easily fed my four children for 1/5 of that price at the bakery around the corner had we known was annoying.
9,4 Excellent
Pros: Highly recommend staying here. Location could not have been more perfect, less than 30 second walk to San Marco square. While not a 7 star luxiourious hotel, it was beautiful when you walk in, rooms were clean and cute with Venician decor and staff was very helpful and kind. For the price, it was everything you want in a hotel and could not have been better with the location. Will recommend this to all of my friends and to avoid the hassle of researching hotels in Venice , just choose this one!
7,0 Good
Pros: I love the location of the hotel because it is only 1 minute away from the St Mark Square. The room was ok in terms of size, it is a little outdated but it was expected before we get there. The lobby is not by but very classy and beautiful.
Cons: The AC was very loud, we have to turn it off before going to bed. Otherwise, it will be like a helicopter hovers all night. We got a canal view room, yes we can see the tiny canal through the window; it is not worth to do the upgrade from standard room
4,0 Okay
Pros: While not overly gregarious or friendly, the staff WAS helpful with directions and making arrangements for transportation.
Cons: Rooms could use fresh coat of paint on walls and new bedspreads.

8,0 Excellent
Pros: It was a nice stay in the Hotel Alexander. It's very close to public transport and takes 15-20 mins to Venice centre and also reaching from the airport was quite easy, the bus stop is 20-30 meters away from the hotel. Also, free parking was a big plus for us. It was all very clean(room, beddings, towels, bathroom) and breakfast was also very nice. (not that rich breakfast but a good value for money)
Cons: I have asked a king size bed but they combined two single beds together instead. It was the only minus from our side however that was not a big problem for 2 days stay.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Large room and large bathroom. Helpful staff.
Cons: Bed was hard.
8,0 Excellent
Pros: Location is one the main advantage of this hotel. Tram station is located just round the corner, so we were able to get to Venice without getting in trouble. Staff were also very nice and pleasant.
Cons: Unfortunately, our room was quite small, equipment in the restroom had some drawbacks and faults. We expected to get more complimentary shampoo&shower gel. If it was 3 stars hotel, It would be fine and acceptable, but I think 4 stars hotel should be prepared a little bit better Breakfast wasn't very various. No vegetables, sausages or boiled eggs. I didn't drink coffee, but my friend told me that it was well brewed

Pros: Everything was perfect... very clean, great location, free parking, and our room was cleaned every day :) we are going to recommend the hotel to everybody :)
