Only the location.
Staff are not attentive.
Very friendly staff and wonderful experience from check in to check out. The room was very comfortable with in room safe. Breakfast was very nice with generous servings
Its central location by the Park, its large rooms and comfy beds, its Cafe Yano a cosy refuge out of the city buzz, its well preserved architectural style from the golden age and smiling and professional personel.
No view from side rooms (next building's wall), a bit dark then.
I love the ambiance, the location, the vintage but well-maintained hotel. The staff were friendly, courteous and I was allowed to check in even before 2:00PM.
The floor was not so clean.
The only thing going for the Luneta Hotel was that it was a historical site and it was near the Rizal Park.
- i booked for a room with a street view but what I good was a room with a balcony facing a parking garage - had to keep the curtains closed the whole tome due to privacy and it felt claustrophobic to be in an enclosed room with no natural light. I asked front desk to move me as I originally booked for a double but was given a king - this was supposedly an upgrade - but said no more doubles. When I asked for any other room facing the street/park, I was told I needed to pay extra (60% more of what I was originally charged). I overheard in staff conversation they had free 16 rooms ... if it were bigger, better managed hotels, my room change request would be immediately granted ( just stayed at Hyatt, Holiday Inn and Dusit days prior). - since the parking garage was attached to the condotel next door with 24 hour access, I heard cars came in and out as the annoying parking gate blasted with loud bell-sounding alarms every time a car went in and out. -front desk staff were untrained, unprofessional -after I paid for my room with my credit card, I was told I needed to leave a 1,000 peso cash deposit for any incidentals in the room. Did not see that coming; I’ve never had to physically give cash to a hotel as a deposit - usually it’s gets charged as a pending amount on the credit card which gets cancelled after check out. Good thing I had cash with me. I wonder how first time foreign visitors feel about this system... - “vouchers” for welcome drink and breakfast were cut out bondpaper printouts, like they were made at home. - Hotel lobby unkept, the pictures of the old hotel on wooden stands were just placed together on a corner instead of nicely displayed all around - at Cafe Yano, the on site restaurant, the wooden rails are dusty, poinsettia plants by window sills are dying with rotten leaves falling. One window sill had a used bandage (obviously left behind by a customer) - it was there till the following morning when I went down for breakfast.
