I think the Breakfast was the best part of my stay at Contel along with the view from the restaurant.
I believe its too far away from the city center and the room was too small and the furniture was not upto the mark.

the hotel was very clean and the staff exceptionally helpful. When we arrive the was no house keeping available and the reception staff came to arrange our daughter's bed.
Very unfortunate that we were given as requested a no smoking room that has such an intense small of cigarettes and cigar that I had to keep the windows open all night and even spraying my parfume in the room many times didn't work. We got there late with a child who was very tired and had leave the following morning so couldn't be bothered to ask for a room change but I would have had to do it if I stayed another night. The smell of cigarette stayed with me all of the following day.

The Contel Hotel Mainz was very nice, clean, and the staff was friendly and were very fluent in the English language. The breakfast buffet was also excellent.
The hotel wasn't easy to get to. We arrived at night on the train and had a very hard time finding out how to get there. It was not close to a bus stop so we had to walk up a steep hill pulling our bags. They need to provide a shuttle.

I like the view from the dining room where we had breakfast. A very comfortable hotel to stay. The breakfast was very good.
it was a bit difficult to find or even get to if you carry a suitcase. Taking a taxi would be a sensible choice.
