"The “renovated” room was in disrepair." | (in 61 reviews) |
It was close to friends and family.
The bathrooms need to be renovated. Clearly can tell there is water damage to the dry wall which needs to be replace. The vent in the bathroom doesnt work at all. Grout and tile was painted to make it look like it was new. For the amount of money we paid you would think there would be a refrigerator in our room. The air condition took some time to get to the temperature we wanted. Walls are extremely thin we could hear our neighbors on both sides as well as the hallway and pool side. Hotel has a lot of history but the owner needs to put money into fully renovating the entire hotel for the price to stay. Also they charge $25 per night to park your vehicle on property. You can take your chance parking your car in the shopping center but it will most likely get towed and or broken into.
Nicely designed and great location!
$25 parking in studio city - seems excessive. Also housekeeping was mixed and lots of noise the night I stayed there.
Full price for off season, under renovations location:(
The beds are amazing, and staff is friendly and attentive.
Entire pool area is under repair, only ground floor rooms available. Busy and noisy grounds due to maintenance and "upgrades". 20 bucks to park per night on top of room rate, plus rediculous and unjustified "resort tax" equals: We will not be back any time soon:(
Not what it used to be
the pool...kind of
No in room movie rental- was before-not now They charge $20 for you to park your own car outside with no valet or security in a motel environment ...seems a little ridiculous. They didn't used to-now they do Took us 20 minutes for room service to pick up multiple calls...apparently it's one guy and a cook? Overall just not as relaxing as it used to be...and the "small print" and hidden fees like parking your own car for $20 is just ridiculous...I would have spent that and then some in room service and movie rentals if they were only available We used to love this hotel...now we don't. Don't waste your time.
Close to Universal Studios.
Homeless people on corners with one urinating in public.Hotel in need of updating.
Overpriced motel with patchwork renovation
The location is great if you don't want to be in Hollywood. Best location in the valley. Parking is good too.
Walls are paper thin. Really terrible. You can hear everything (and I do mean everything) going on in every surrounding room. The shower tiles were falling apart as well. Seemed like they did the bare minimum to qualify this as a luxury hotel but it's a glorified Holiday Inn.
Noisy
Pleasant stay.
The proximity to restaurants
No room safe.
Things I liked
Loved that the TV had BBC America channel. Loved the small patio outside my room even though we didn't have time to make use of it. Enjoyed the breakfast in the café - was able to get exactly what I wanted because the restaurant was flexible.
Could not use the shower! Price was too high Cost was put on card at time of reservation instead of when I checked out.
Accomodating
Flew in early, check in scheduled for 3pm, but staff found me a room as early as 10am. Got to recoup from jet lag right away.
Noisy cleaning staff woke me up with talking in the hallway and then vacuuming. But in their defense it was already 10am.
The bed was very comfortable.
Finding our room the first night was very difficult. Someone should have walked us to our room and carried our suitcases for us. There was no elevator to our 2nd floor room.
We love to stay at the Sportsmen's Lodge it is very clean and friendly and has a homey feel. The pool is great for relaxing and the food is great. We love the cafe with the counter and white leather booths. We will stay there again.
room comfortable, good size, in rear, so it was quiet...will go back, if rate is the same or better...happy there..
ambiance, tropical pool area
ready for renovation
