The location was good, with great transport links including bus routes, underground and overground trains. General cleanliness was acceptable.
I check in on Sunday evenings weekly and I try to choose hotels which I know are currently comfortable and in a good location. The issues I had and have had in the past is the receptionist seems to take pleasure in making it increasingly difficult and time consuming to check in. I know this particular person does it for self satisfaction, bacause he asks me different questions each time, and for different documents each time. I am not amused following a long train journey. The room was fine but the en suite was ridiculously small.
The Bedroom had a new Desk Top Fan and a portable Radiator and a TV. There was plenty of choice of Marmalade/Jams at Breakfast.
The Stairs, we were located on the top floor (6 flights to walk) and there wasnt a lift. The fact our room wasnt located in the building where reception was. The quality of the Bedroom didn't look like the photo. The lack of choice at Breakfast.
Plenty of tea and coffee, was able to leave my bag there at not extra cost, few nice pubs close by
Dated room, not the cleanest but not the worst I've seen extremely small bathroom
The breakfast was alright but can be upgraded.
The Single room was on the 4th floor and there is no lift.
Location close to Paddington station and thats it, the staff at the reception and cleaners were all nice but the premises are awful and need a lot of work to be decent!
Very bad experience. My room was stinking cigarettes and stuffy, dirty, humid air, I think there was no fresh air for months. Carpet dirty with stains and chewing gum, quite awful, I think wasnt properly washed for years! I wanted to change the room - not possible. Extremely cold in the room and the heater wasnt even working and no duvet or blankets available in the room - I had to sleep under my own jacket. Very bad experience, not recommended.
