Not much apart from the locaty
Way too expensive for the quality offered. Very much needed renovation
Absolutely disgusting stay. The boy on morning reception is the rudest boy I have ever had the mis pleasure of dealing with.
It was dirty EVERYWHERE and my daughter has kidney problems and has indeed incurred another infection from this disgusting environment.
Food at breakfast, when we eventually got it, was good.
Arrived after the 2pm checkin time to a queue for rooms that were not ready. Staff didnt seem to know who was checking in where. Our room appeared to be a converted store room as it was so small and completely different to the picture on booking.com. No smoke alarm and windows that were screwed shut so you could not open. Breakfast staff were appalling, completely disorganised and rude. One server had a uniform too small for her, was dirty and she was chewing gum whilst serving. We got told to pick a table to sit at, but all available tables needed cleaning from previous occupants. Hardly any fresh cooked food available or indeed fruit or bread. Another waiter admitted he usually worked in reception. Another said he was the maintenance man! When I checked in the hotel took the money off my card for one night only, instead of the two booked for. On check out I complained as above, and asked to speak to the manager. Reception said they were not available and not in the building and asked for payment of the second night. I advised the room and service didnt warrant the second night payment and again asked to speak to the manager. When the reception said I couldn't, I advised I did not want to pay for the second night as I thought the money asked for was too much. I was then told, "Are you going to leave without paying then?" I said I believed the money I had paid already was too much again.. etc etc. I then decided to leave, asking for the manager to write to me. As such, the hotel has now taken the second nights money from my card without permission and the manager has not attempted to contact me. I have stayed at the hotel before numerous times approx 3-4 years ago and thought it was a good place. As this hotel was prepaid on a busy weekend we had no other choice than to stay. I will now avoid this hotel and advise others to do the same.
Fine old hotel, bit short staffed...
I chose this hotel randomly, as we were going to the BBC proms in the proms in Hyde Park. It was in the perfect place, excellent value for money and a lovely surprise was Shepherd Market close by. The staff were lovely
The air conditioning unit wasn't working, and I didn't pay for breakfast as I thought it a little expensive, but generally I was more than happy with everything else
