Top tips for hiring a car at Little Rock airport

  • As a visitor in Little Rock, you want to have the easiest time getting around and exploring the city at your own pace. You can only experience that with a car rental at Little Rock Airport. You can choose to visit different attraction sites, art galleries, exhibition and trade fairs, or go shopping downtown straight from the flight hub. Taxis and buses don't offer that level of fun, freedom, convenience and experience. They follow a set route on a schedule, but you move at your own pace with a Little Rock Airport (LIT) car rental.
  • Are you on a family vacation or traveling as a group? It would be best to rent a reliable and high-capacity vehicle, such as an SUV, a van, or a full size rental. Your choice will likely hinge on the number of travelers and the amount of cargo you have. An SUV or minivan is perfect when you visit Little Rock as a small family. If you're a group of between 5 to 15 individuals, then we recommend that you hire a full-sized van from your preferred car rental at Little Rock Airport.
  • When all the enjoyment is over, and you need to return the car to your Little Rock Airport car rental, you can do that effortlessly. When you enter the airport grounds, follow the signs leading to the baggage claims area, and you'll see the rental car facility right next to the baggage carousel. Proceed to your car rental operator to check out and finalize any extra charges. For after-hours returns, park the vehicle in the lot across from the arrivals terminal; complete the contract agreement and drop it (together with the car keys) in the drop box.
  • Driving in Little Rock is relatively easy, although you'll need to be aware of specific points of concern. Driving during the rush hours can get you stuck in traffic, especially on US440, which runs near the airport. The morning and evening rush are worst from about 7.15 am to 8.15 am and 4.15 pm to 5.30 pm. You can use I-40 and I-30 if you need to access the city center, and remember to be on high alert when you reach the intersection where I-30 connects to US Hwy 70. The N University Ave and Usher Ave intersection corner is another intersection that calls for high alertness.
  • Book your car hire at Little Rock airport at least 6 weeks before your trip in order to get a below-average price

FAQs about hiring a car at Little Rock airport

  • Where can I find car rental companies at Little Rock Airport?

You'll find the car rental counters strategically located in the baggage claims area like in most airports. The vehicle rental counters are situated at 1 Airport Dr, the rental car facility near the baggage carousel. When you deplane from your flight, follow the "Baggage Claim" signs that lead to the vehicle rental center. Locate your car rental agent at Little Rock Airport, and you'll find the attendant ready to verify your credential and deliver the car keys. The cars are parked right across the arrivals terminal.

  • What are the age requirements when renting a car at Little Rock Airport?

Any individual who wants to hire a car from a car rental at Little Rock Airport must have attained the minimum rental age of 21 years. However, any renter who wishes to rent top-class vehicles, such as a luxury car, full-size/premium SUV, and vans (whether a minivan or full-size van), must be 25 years or older. While renters between 21 and 24 years old might rent an economy or compact car, your Little Rock Airport car rental will charge a daily "Young Renter's Fee," which varies from one agent to another.

  • What are the best places to park a rental car in Little Rock, Arkansas?

If you're looking for parking space within downtown Little Rock, you have a variety of options. For instance, you can park at the Robinson Center Parking Garage located along Markham and Spring St, a 550-slot underground parking facility. Alternatively, you can head to the River Market Parking lot along River Market Ave and along 2nd St or go to the Convention District Parking Garage on Main St, nestled a block away from the Statehouse Convention Center.

  • Which car hire companies will pick you up at Little Rock airport?

Car hire companies that offer shuttle or pick-up services from Little Rock airport to off-airport locations include Alamo, Avis, Budget, Dollar, Enterprise Rent-A-Car, Hertz, National, and Thrifty.

The original rental I was given had a heavy smell of cigarettes and pot. It was like a wall hitting me when I opened the door and I did not even get in the car. The Budget employee at the desk was very helpful and prompt getting me a different car but this should not have happened to begin with.

They did not have a minivan that I had rented 2 weeks earlier. When I returned to Little Rock to pick up the rental at the airport late that night which my time to pick up was 11pm. The gentleman at the desk informed me they didn't have any minivans. He told me all vans were all picked up and moved to Memphis for Spring Break. I was stranded so he gave me a small SUV for the night and said to come back in the morning to see if they have anything else to put us in. The problem is we were suppose to leave out at 3am for our trip and there were 6 of in our family us going plus luggage for spring break trip. I went back the next morning and was told nothing they can do about what we reserved. That doesn't matter because it's only what is here the day and time you pick up. This was very frustrating but she did say to wait until after 8am and see what vehicles are brought up. A little while later she found 1 mini van and things looked to be solved but I wasn't the only one there waiting on one. We got it and went to pick up the family and load the van. I noticed once I was getting close to home picking up the family that it was getting hotter and hotter in the van. Turns out the AC was out and only blowing hot air. We loeded averthing up and tried to see if we could survive with the fan and windows down. We didn't make it an hour and had to turn around and temp were getting higher. I went back to airport to turn it back in and see if there is anything they could do. They said nothing else. Waited around for a while and had to make the choice to find another smaller SUV but we had to go home to take our vehicle as well to get us and our luggage to fit. The point was to rent a vehicle so we could ride together, save on gas and take one vehicle for us all to fit in. This ended up costing twice as much for the ordeal. That SUV that we did end up switching to I had to beg for that because it needed an oil change. I asked if we could wait while they get that done and was told no that they won't get to that anytime soon. I finally pleases that I will get the oil changed myself. They finally agreed and we left. Granted by the time we got on the road again from Little Rock was after 2pm. 11 hours after we were suppose to leave which made us lose an entire day of vacation at the beach with our kids. I ended up getting the oil changed and turned the paperwork and receipt in when I returned the vehicle. I was told that I would see a credit within a week or so due to it being booked through KAYAK. Still I have not received the credit return and was also charged 69.75 for Sirius XM and was told they gave me that as an add on for free. I signed it but was said it would be credited and again no credit has shown up. This is very poor experience and the 2nd bad experience we have had with Avis in the past couple months. Can any one help rectify this or do we just not use you again? Thank for your attention to this matter

The pickup process was not good. Budget was the only company with a wait at Little Rock airport and it was long. There were two extra staff, but they did not help the one person working the counter. It was silly and took well over an hour to get a car.

It was honestly one of the easiest car rental experiences in my life of travel. Flying into Hot Springs I knew it was a small airport. But, it was really easy to get to and from terminal from rental counters. My only critique, and this critique applies to a lot of airports, there needs to be better signage indicators. I took a wrong turn on my way off the flight to the rental car counters. That’s not on Alamo. But, perhaps they have some influence with that.
