Lençóis hotels

Pros: Very nice hotel. Perfect to relax after a strenuous hike.

Pros: A short walking distance from the center of Lençois, but free from the noise. A haven after long hikings. The staff are very kind and helpful. Nice restaurant. Beautiful garden.

Pros: Overall a great experience, but had a few mishaps. Hotel Lencois is set up on a hill top right above downtown Lencois. All walking distance, but a steep hill if you are lugging your suitcase or carrying a pack. The hotels grounds were gorgeous, and served a wonderful breakfast with very pleasant staff. However, if you are into Hiking Chapada and are planning to take a day off to rest and decompress, this is not your hotel. Currently, there is construction at the hotel. Between hammers banging, demolitions and crew chatting amongst each other, you don't feel relaxed. The noise starts at 8 am, going thru 5, almost 6pm. The room has a bed, a cute little patio with a hammock. But the noise will prevent you from a peaceful time. I believe this is a seasonal thing. If you were to visit in the summer time, the pool would be inviting, and sans the noise, you could enjoy a massage. The room has a mini bar with water only, there is no coffee machine. Just details. In sum, good hotel, wrong season.

Pros: Great atmosphere overall. Drinks and food were exquisite. The facility is located at the top of the city hill, with a wide and open space to the local wilderness. Breakfast was fenomenal in the company of local fauna and Gigante the gorgeous chubby cat.

Pros: The grounds are wonderful. Super peaceful. The rooms are great with a private back area where to sling the hammock they provide.

Cons: After paying $150/night US, I'd expect the internet to function. We had no connectivity in the 2 days stay whereas all the bars/restaurants in town the wifi worked perfectly. One other small detail is that the rooms are super quiet and comfortable, but the minifridge was excessively loud. Consider unplugging it!

Pros: Beautiful garden and ambience.

Cons: The rooms have too thin walls. I could hear all the conversations in low voice and any slight noise of the neighboring rooms.

Pros: Beautiful hotel surrounded by nature yet very close to Lencois center. Breakfast on the terrace is beautiful - lots of variety and fresh juices. We stayed in a Patio room which had a little garden- so nice to look out to from bed. Spacious and sparkling clean room. Drinks and snacks from hotel bar are very reasonable. Nice pool too!

Cons: Like most places in Brazil not much English is spoken. Brush up on your Spanish/Portuguese or use google translate. Staff are friendly tho so we had no problems at all. One receptionist helped me book a massage which was great.

Pros: We came from Kuwait to morro de São Paulo with very very long trip, we was expecting something but our experience was above our expectation! We really enjoyed the stay in the hotel, the staff, the beaches everything was amazing, our suggestions to you to stay in this hotel because everything is perfect from food, comfortable rooms, gyms.. etc, at the end we need to thank “Ana” from the hotel staff for her help and professional acts, she did her best to help us to find our lost things and send it back to our country which is not her responsible to do that.

Pros: Amazing Breakfast each morning, especially Loved all the different fresh fruits!

Cons: Our room did not receive WiFi single so we had to sit out in the walkway near other rooms in order to use phone and laptop. Our room had a window seat but when we moved the pillows in order to sit down we saw that the cushions were covered in animal feces. We tried to flip to cushions over but the bottom side was badly stained and soiled as well.

Pros: Breakfast is fantastic. Great selection of quality food. The renovated rooms are 5 star rooms. The staff is very attentive and helpful. The decoration is beautiful and it really puts in contact with the local culture.

Cons: The dry sauna was not working and I think the steam room should be available all times without a charge. Besides, that everything was quite perfect.

Pros: This property exceeded our expectations. It was gay friendly, clean, the food was amazing and the facilities were super. Perfect place to rest and rejuvenate after a long 3 day hike in chapada diamanchina.

Cons: At times the service from the staff left a lot to be desired, although we think this may be due to the lack of English speakers.

Pros: Very nice hotel in the surprising Lençois, geneous breakfast, clean room, lovely view on the river!

Cons: Some more English speaker in the staff would be advisable

Pros: Free filtered water was a great bonus, free tea and biscuits in the afternoon was a nice touch, but the main thing was the location, beautiful aspect and very central to everything in the town

Cons: Slowness of breakfast staff, just a bit too laid back if you are in a hurry, as most people are because of sightseeing trips

Pros: the whole experience with this hotel is simply remarkable!!! If your budget allows I highly recommend this to everyone. We were thinking to cancel because it's quite expensive, but at the end we were happy we didn't. definitely worth it! The design of the hotel integrates organically into the landscape and the town, which makes you feel surrounded by the running water and trees, as well as the historical buildings across the river. The hotel room is also very spacious and comfortable, very sustainably designed too (no unnecessary plastic etc..) I also booked a massage, which was provided outdoors under the trees next to the pool. Perfect.

Cons: nothing. the first night the internet did not work but it's the infrastructure of the town, nothing the hotel can do.

Pros: There is Spanish and English speaking staff who all helped arrange wonderful tours.

Cons: I gave the place a low score for cleanliness but not because it was actually dirty (they seemed to keep the place very tidy), but because there was no soap in the bathrooms to wash your hands. I guess they expect the guests to remember their soap every time they go. Normally, I wouldn't care that much but because they had a breakfast buffet where we all handled the same serving utensils, I was bothered by this

Pros: The backyard is very pleasant and the breakfast is excellent.

Cons: A washing machine would be a nice addition.

Pros: Excellent staff and service. Facilities ok. Exceding expectatives was the common areas, there was a charming back yard to get together.

Cons: The only thing I d suggest to be improved is the breakfast. It could be better, with some eggs or the local traditional "tapioca". It was too average for the price.

Cons: Mixed dorm was intensely hot. Fan not enough. Multiple people didn't sleep good because of it. :(

Pros: Gr8 and wonderful pousada in the middle of nature with great views and the most wonderful personnel.... we came as guest and we are now leaving with new wonderful friends! We will definitely return and we recommend this pousada! We have had the best time of our vacations! For the lack of better wording.... wonderful!

Pros: Beautiful setting in a little hill forest, the name says it really. Lovely main house and terraces. Very friendly and helpful owners providing information on the Chapada region. Away from the Lençois city center but still accesible on foot (for those that have no mobility problem on steep hills). Great breakfast.

Cons: Nothing really, everything fine. We arrived just after huge rainfall and the first night the car or walking access to town was a bit special with water all over the hill but we felt the force of nature and it contributed with an overall positive experience.

Pros: It's a great place surrounded by nature and very quiet, great to relax and have a peaceful vacation. The staff at the house was very friendly and welcoming. They have a great ambience and help a lot with information for trips. Great food too and cute cabins with wood.

Pros: Because I like place that have a lot of tree. It's a comfortable place, but not good location. Very good breakfast and staff polite.

The staff is very friendly and Christl did everything to help and make our stay very pleasant, from organizing guides to picking us up in town after a nice dinner. Thanks again Christl that was so nice of you. Also the restaurant serves good food freshly made, so we ate there twice.

Cons: If you stay there ask for the bangalow, I stayed in the main building and there were very very noisy guests, i could hear a lot, wasn’t that good, -the roads to get to the hotel are horrible, they can almost break you car

Pros: Let's all remember that this is a "Pousada" and not a full service hotel. The place was convenient, close to city center for a walk. The breakfast was VERY good with great variety and enough food to load you up till 4 pm. Our room had air conditioning, which I would say is an essential feature to keep you cool and free of mosquitos. We all slept very well. We've got a remote control for the gate and were able to park our car inside the property, so that was very safe (compare to park on the street). Dona Lia was very attentive and kind to us, especially during breakfast (nice to see the colorful birds - lots of - around during that time). Lúcio was also very helpful in providing tips on places to go, best time of the day, routes, etc.. Our room did not have TV but that was great... we were there for the Chapada!!!!! Finally, make sure you try and take some of the geléais home.

Cons: Internet service was not stable but we've handled that OK.

Pros: The staff and the owner Thomas were really nice and kind. Always helpful as well. The bed was really comfortable and have a hot shower after hiking days was great. The hostel is well located at the entrance of the village of Lencois. We recommend this hostel for any traveler.

Pros: I loved my stay in Lencois! Thomas and all the volunteers are insanely friendly and helpful and help you get the most out of your time. The breakfast was amazing as well with Tapioca, scrambled eggs, homemade yogurt and fruits! Right when I got there, Thomas advised me on all the tours they are offering (he owns another hostel and has been a tour guide for more than 10 years before starting his own travel agency). Thereby, he was very honest, his prices are more than fair compared to other travel agencies and I booked tours for my 3-day stay with him. September is rather low season so after I told him the tours I was interested in, he tried (and succeeded) to find a group of people who wanted to join. The tour guides (Pedro and Ivan (?)) were fantastic as well! I would definitely recommend this hostel, great vibe!

Pros: The place is perfect to meet people and to go hiking. I had some problems with a pirate guide in Mucuge and the workers were very helpful. It is very important that you take a good guide, they are for sure!! Very reliable!

Cons: When they rent you towels they are too little.

Cons: Double room with shared bathroom: no hooks or anything to put down your stuff. Bathroom next door very loud.

Pros: Cozy pousada with a nice swimming pool, very helpful staff (even though they don't speak English; use Google Translate ;)), great breakfast and free coffee! The pousada is about 1KM from Lencois, so best is to come with a car. However, we loved the location, because it's very quiet in the evening and a great place to rest after a day in the beautiful Chapada Diamantina. The room was basic, but clean and good value for money. Recommend it!

Cons: A pair of chairs or a bench in our family room would have been nice as well as some more storage space. Apart from that, all good!

Pros: The owner is such a lovely and helpful guy who was very supportive with everything. Even though we arrived early in the morning we could already have breakfast and leave our stuff at the place. Also we could leave our stuff there after check out. He was available at any time. The house was very clean and well equipped. The bathroom was very clean as well. The breakfast had a big choice of food and was freshly made. Thank you very much for staying at your place!

Pros: The staff was amazing, breakfast was good, rooms were clean and the owner was very nice! When we where there the WiFi connection and speed at the reception and swimming pool were good!

Cons: Location a little bit away from the centre (as advertised), but within 5 minutes by car so not a big problem for us! Because the WiFi routers are at the reception and swimming pool we only had a WiFi connection in our room sometimes, but again not a big problem for us because the reception is two steps away from the rooms.

Pros: A little bit far away from the center of Lençois, but worth to give it a chance. The environment is very calm and peaceful and the ammenities are great, including a swimming pool and a very nice garden.

Pros: Nice outdoors spaces. Friendly staff and very good breakfast with freshly made tapioca.

Cons: It was a bit far from the town centre if you are not by car. The water in the shower was not very warm.

Cons: The pousada is NOT close to the city center, it's 1.5 km from it, you have to walk 20-25 minutes on the road. The room was old and not well maintained. They didn't make the room during our 4 days stay, nor change the towels, it was really dirty at the end of our stay.

Pros: We could park our car just in front of the door every day without hassle. All the staff was very friendly. Breakfast was good and more than we could imagine eating.

Cons: Street of the guesthouse (and a few others around) is not market in Google Maps as street, so a bit hard to find it first time visiting. Also there were no signs on the neigbouring streets indicating the way.

Pros: Quiet and comfortable room, The air conditioning was also quiet so we had a good sleep. The neighborhood seemed safe (on Brazilian standards). Good place for parking in front of the accomodation.

Pros: When we arrived, Galon was at the front desk and he was very helpful. He offered us coffee, explained everything we needed to know, gave us a summary of the tour options available to us (through other agencies), and even offered to call and book a tour on our behalf. The location is nice, not right in the heart of Lencois, but just a few minutes walk away. Honestly, it was nice not to be in the busier area. It is also a very short walk from the bus station which was really great. Our 4-person room was fairly small for 3 people, but not unmanageable. The air conditioning worked very well and we even had to turn it down in the night because we got cold. That was very nice to return to after a hot day hiking around town and in Chapada Diamantina. The breakfast was also quite nice: fresh fruit, juice, coffee, tea, some rolls and cakes, and some typical Brazilian breakfast foods. All of it was very good and it's on a nice covered patio in a garden to make it even better. We had a great time in Lencois and would gladly return. If I do, I'll stay here again in a heart beat.

Pros: Breakfast was okay. The view of the city is very nice from the room window. They let us check in at like 7 am!! The water was consistently hot in the showers-very comfortable.

Cons: No one was there to open the hostel when it officially opened. It was not fun sitting there at 5 something in the morning and then at 6:10 staff is nowhere to be found. There is no receptionist 24 hours. Very cold at night. Apparently we had to request them but there’s no receptionist at night to ask! (Comforters are behind check in desk.)
