Awful service. We knew we would arrive after midnight, and since the reception is open until 22.00, we wrote a message saying we would be coming late. Upon arriving there was nobody at the reception, and when calling the reception and asking for help in english, the guy answering us said he didn’t speak english and hung up. This happend three times when we called. We then, as we had no choice, spoke to him in the small amount in german that we knew. He said we did not have a reservation and that he did not have any rooms avaliable (even though we did reserve and pay for two rooms). We argued for 20 minutes, and at the end he gave us two rooms. Absolutely awful. Who does not speak english as a worker in a hotel? Why was there nobody at the hotel? Who does hang up the phone to their guests and lies about there not being any rooms avaliable, when there were two rooms? I do not recomend this hotel to anyone.
We had an absolutely marvelous time. The great view from our room looking on the Völkerschlachtsdenkmal. The historic, with much love to detail newly refurbished hotel, originally opened on the same as zhe Völkerschlachtsdenkmal in 1813, reopened 2013, welcomes you with a unique and authentic charme.
Quiet and authentic
No way to get a cup of tea
Everythings were there when I needed them, moreover the quality of food/drinks was superior to the average
Home away from home! We were there as our dog was undergoing Brain Surgery at the Leipzig University Veterinary Small Animal Hospital and we were treated as family. The hotel is very charming, with antiques. Breakfast very nice. If you travel with your pet request room number 1. It's big and comfortable. Great bathroom with a jacuzzi size bathtub and a terrace. Extremely recommendable. Cheers. Natasha De Santis
