Pros: Location is great. Clean rooms. Nice view from the 4th floor. Hotel Bar including small meals are available at all hours. Free parking in front of the hotel. Good and generous breakfast included in the room rate.
Cons: Quality of sleep was just fair. A lot of noises from furniture and plumbing affected a quite sleep. Room and bathroom a bit torturously designed.
Pros: Location was brilliant. Staff were friendly and very accomodating. Lovely stay.
Pros: Great for what I needed which was to see the U boat pens Very nice clean rooms Breakfast
Cons: Drunks hanging around in them I was uncomfortable in the whole area 10 Euro for a very small chicken curry heated up in the microwave while you wait
Pros: The reception at arrival was very good, she indicates for us the places to visit and gave us a map, which helps alot.
Pros: Helpful staff. Great location.
Pros: Easy parking. Restaurants nearby. Very near the beach. Near the u boat pens, and other museums.
Cons: Not a negative.... Our old sat nav struggled to accept coordinates. The u boat pens are such a landmark & they are opposite ! Had we known this we could have looked for them. This info might help others find the hotel.
A stay at Hôtel La Belle Etoile places you in the heart of Saint-Nazaire, within a 10-minute walk of Le Théâtre and Ruban Blue Centre Commercial. Featured amenities include luggage storage and coffee/tea in a common area. Free self parking is available onsite.
Pros: Very kind and helpful personnel in a clean hotel with a really warm and family environment !
Cons: We could use a small fridge in the room to keep some water cool, especially during the summer season.
Pros: The welcome by the owner was the best I have experienced.. warm welcome and could not do enough to make our stay easy and comfortable... Location is perfect...
Pros: Excellent location, central but quiet. Owner so friendly and helpful, let us park our motorbike in the backyard. The room and bathroom was spotlessly clean. Good value for money. Recommend this hotel.
Pros: Staff were accommodating. Room was pleasant.
Cons: 5pm is far too late for check in.
Pros: Good location, very friendly helpful owners. Good bed and bedding. Excellent parking for motorbike. Good price
Cons: The door between bedroom and bathroom was a very rickety plastic folding door which did not close. Stairwell looked very shabby.

Pros: Very friendly staff. The room was very clean and the bed was very comfortable. The shower was excellent. The breakfast was very good and set us up well for the day.
Cons: Wifi reception was quite slow. Not having a restaurant that was open in the evening meant we had to drive a long way to eat.
Pros: The breakfast was very French - as expected, more fruit and cereals would have been good. The staff were really helpful in suggesting where to go and visit. There was nowhere to walk near the hotel one had to use the car but it was only 10 minutes to the coast.
Pros: Extra space in the room. Very welcoming manager. Very quiet neighborhood. Simple and efficient hotel with a comfortable room for a nice stay at a very reasonable cost. Great value for the money.
Pros: Very nice service! Enjoyed our stay!
Pros: Really clean and good breakfast
Pros: The staff were great and the air conditioning was very welcome. It was clean and functional.
Cons: Shame there is no coffee/tea making facilities. The location is bleak, trading estate and truck stop just off a major road. So, for nothing but a late night stopover it is fine but otherwise I would say it’s worth paying a little bit more to be at a better location.
Pros: Cleanliness of room. Shower. Tv. Staff. Breakfast very good
Cons: No tea or coffee making facilities in room. But for the price not an issue.
Pros: Table in room big enough for picnic Spotless bathroom Access to room from exterior

Our restaurant and its two terraces-with one on the beach-offers you a back-from-the-market cooking, with fresh and tasty products, mixing tradition and modernity. You will have an idea of the holiday atmosphere recreated in the famous Jacques Tati film -Les vacances de Monsieur Hulot-, shot here in the Hotel de la Plage in the late 60s, with M. Hulot as the main character. For your seminaries or private meals, we offer two meetings rooms with a view of the sea and equipped with the latest technologies- Wi-Fi Internet access and video projector, both are complimentary. Near the hotel, you can enjoy various water sports such as sailing, jet ski, diving and fishing. For your stroll periods, you can spend some time shopping in the center town of Saint Nazaire, or on the stylish avenue De Gaulle, in La Baule.
Pros: Great lunch x 2 Excellent value
Cons: Room was small
Pros: We pushed the boat out and went for the most expensive room. Brilliant, large private terrace with 2 sunloungers, table & 2 chairs, sun umbrella. Right on M Hulot's beach, with an uninterrupted and unsurpassed view of the sea. We stayed primarily because of the Jaques Tati film Mr Hulot's Holiday, and both the the resort and the exterior of there hotel still had vestiges of the quiet, unfashionable charm of the 1950's . There were two nice beachside restaurants, the hotel's, and one just along. the beach was a model of the old-fashioned, simple pleasures of the seaside - we were pleased that it hadn't been ruined with regiments of €12 per day sunbeds.
Cons: Well, this was easily the dearest room we've ever stayed in - £240 per night B&B - and we did anticipate something rather special. something rather special was what we did not get. OK is what it was. I know that, given the hotel's facade is largely unchanged from the 1950's, we didn't expect the window to be huge - but we did expect something that said, You Have Paid A Lot Of Money For This Room, rather than the actual, rather pokey and ordinary room. (We'd recently stayed in a similarly-facing room in the Royal Hotel in Deal, in Kent - now THAT was special - and cheaper)! PLUS Hotel de la Plage's coffee at breakfast was dire and dreadful. When we travel we pack emergency Gold Blend Instant. We never expected to have to use it in France, of all places. With hindsight, we should have stayed somewhere else and merely VISITED St Marc-sur-Mer ... but romantic nostalgia did for us.
Pros: Amazing sea view room with a very spacious terrace. Hotel and restaurant are superb. We loved every minute of our stay. Staff were friendly and very helpful.
Pros: On the beach. Ideal for a beach holiday. A nice quiet location.
Cons: Bedroom was extremely 'compact'. Shower room showing signs of age. A 20 minute drive from the Saint Nazaire town and attractions (possible by bus, 35 minutes).
Pros: Great location with a view of the beach and the statue of M. Hulot! Nicely furnished room. Good breakfast. The hotel staff very kindly took reception of our hire bikes and stored them in the garage until we set off on our journey.
Cons: The corridors and breakfast room were dark and gloomily decorated. The hotel doesn't make the best of what is a super location. The restaurant ("La plage de M. Hulot") attached to the hotel but a separate operation (as we were told several times) was disappointing and over-priced for the quality offered.
Pros: Sea view - stunning large terrace
Cons: Room too small for more than 1-2 nights. Bathroom dated and cramped.
Pros: The views of the sea were amazing and the village had all the facilities needed for a longer stay. Staff were friendly and helpful. The access to the beach and walks along the coast was excellent. The restaurant located within the hotel was useful.
Cons: The room was too small. You could hardly move between the bed and the wardrobe.
Pros: Perfect location with the perfect view and very stylish rooms.
Cons: Could be a better breakfast
Pros: The smell in the shower 8((((
Pros: The location
Cons: The room was a little bit small but the terrace was very nice

Pros: Excellent location at the train station (with direct TGV connection to Paris).
Cons: Room is big enough, but still very tight. WiFi is not really sufficient for working.
Pros: Bedroom was cool so that in the heat we could sleep.
Cons: The restaurant wasn't open on a SATURDAY night. The only staff member on duty told us there was a number of restaurants a 15 minute walk away so we walked and discovered it was a service area off the main road with a Quick fast food joint and nothing else open. When we walked back there were two restaurants beside the hotel, one Vietnamese themed and the other a magic place that served the best food of our two week stay in France.....and he wasn't aware of it. It is called le Bistrot de la Gare, well worth a visit.
Cons: Breakfast was bad
Pros: Friendly staff. Nice breakfast. Easy walk to great shopping location and restaurants
Cons: Restaurant was closed for public holiday which was disappointing. Bit hard to access carpark but plenty of street parking nearby. Shower rose was broken and wouldnt stay up
Pros: I liked every thing
Cons: This was a lovely clean hotel. Well worth the small money. Breakfast was amazing.
Pros: Location Friendly staff Good lunch
Cons: - Hotel doesn't have own parking spots. You need to buy a ticket for your car from 09.00 till 19.00.
Pros: The View over the beach.
Cons: To expensive for what you got. And was offered. Staff not welcoming! It was meant to be a treat after cycling 500 km. Turned out to be a joke. The place is all about up selling!!!!

Pros: Pleasant staff and very good breakfast .
Cons: My husband said it was the worst room he had ever stayed in even though it was modern and clean. We had booked a quiet deluxe room on a lower floor . This request was confirmed by e mail .However, we found ourselves in the smallest room with road noise until the early hours. We had to keep the windows open as there was no air conditioning- and it was very hot. On arrival we were told that the deluxe rooms were on the 2nd floor .Despite my disability, I decided it would be worthwhile climbing the extra stairs for a good room. We were shocked when we saw the size but I had read from another reviewer that rooms were smaller than you would expect so as there was no phone to ring reception anyway we decided to put up with it. We had to move 2 huge chairs to be able to put the cases down . We had to stack the chairs but even then my husband had to climb over them to get round the bed. We explained this to the chaps running the place and they offered a free breakfast. This was a kind gesture that we accepted but it could not possibly compensate for an awful night on our lovely holiday.
Pros: Superb value for money. Excellent location next to bus and train stations.
Cons: Railway station and bus stop, very noisy, away from the city center and the beach
Pros: Old, but clean
Pros: Breakfast was good. Staff very helpful and friendly. We traveled with bicycles and looked for a place close to the station for the way home. They helped us really great with storing the bikes in a safe place and bringing them in the morning back to the entrance.
Pros: Staff, breakfast (only worth if buy one get one free offer)
Cons: Location - tough to get to through roadworks and not central.

Cons: Forgot how noisy city centres were! Could have done with extra pillows in room.
Pros: Food was excellent and staff attentive and friendly

Cons: Room was not so clean at the walls, cold climate in the room, very noisy room affected by showering and toilet in the surrounding. Breakfast was very poor, slow refilling, no vegetable.

Cons: Unfortunately the hotel needed updating, the room we were shown to hadn’t be cleaned . The air conditioning was very noisy , the taps in the bathroom were badly fitted and loose. The loacation ( on a round about in an industrial area) wasn’t ideal for us.
Pros: I liked the parking in front of the hotel for free, che mattress was awesome as the pillows...

Pros: It was a nice, clean and safe hotel close to what we wanted to see/visit
Pros: We had athe Junior Suite which had excellent space and comfort. Food generally was really good
Pros: The room was well made. The bathroom was better and more modern that I had expected. The lobby was staffed all time by very polite and helpful people who understood English. I could get good coffee from the bar and their breakfast buffet was worth what they were charging.
Pros: Courtesy offre staff
Pros: Room was large clean & had a fridge. The Pool & sun area although not used as it was raining. Location as hotel near a retail park. Short drive to beach. On a bus route to town.
Cons: PThe bar didn't open until 6.30pm. hotel food evening food was just ok. The price of the continental breakfast 11 euros each when there was a perfectly good boulangier just down the road for 4 euros each (freshly squeezed orange juice a milk coffee & a choice of cossiant.
Cons: The breakfast was rather disappointing. The buffet was lacking in variety and quality. The coffee was horrible and there was only white bread.
Pros: We liked the general atmosphere and friendliness of the staff. The food was very good and we were treated to a recital from a choir made up from many of the staff
Pros: The weather was terrible with heavy rain & the only problem was there was very little English TV on the hotel room TV, There were American TV programmes on but dubbed into French with no subtitles for other languages, which would have been a real help.
