I have stayed at Berjaya Langkawi on three occassions over a period of about 20 years. The star attraction is undoubtedly the physical aspect of the property. The majority of the accommodation are stand-alone wooden chalets that are nestled in a well-established rainforest. The experience of walking to, staying in, and sitting on the balcony of what is effectively a hut (albeit with all modern conveniences) tucked in a rainforest is quite unique. As far as I know, Berjaya, and the more expensive Datai, are the only proporties on the island with such accommodation. Accommodation in other properties on the island might be surrounded by lush vegation, but they would be housed in low- to medium-rise buildings (i.e. You will not get a private stand-alone accommodation).
Other aspects of Berjaya Langkawi - service, food, mattress, in-room furnishings and amenities, and live entertainment - are alright. None of them are terrible, but none of them are so outstanding as to warrant a commendation. I have found this to be the case with each of the three visits over the years.
The service, stay and place.
Front desk process is too slow, keep customer waiting
The hotel can be rated as 5* actually. Excelent place for honeymoon and vacation. Inspite of number of chalets, feel as on desert island and in paradise in the same time. Also, you can be in touch with nature here (monkeys, birds and other local animals live just in step from you).
Very poor sound insulation in chalets. The furniture is too old and in poor etat. The personnel which owes is multilanguage absolutely do not speak the francais. The price of rooms is too expensive and the breackfast isn't including. The food in restoring them is not good, nor juices of fruit. The personnel is very badly formedthe hotel is isolated, far from everything
Only the beach
The Berjaya Langkawi Resort is a unique and rare find. It sits at the edge of a rainforest in the Pantai Kok area of Malaysia. Yet, it is also a waterfront property that includes accommodations that are entirely over the water, with others tucked into the edges of the forest itself. Only a short walk from the Langkawi Cable Car and less than 1.5 miles to the Seven Wells Waterfall, it is a destination of its own. Yet, visitors will find attractions like Oriental Village, the Langkawi Sky Bridge, Telaga Harbour, Sungai Kilim Nature Park, and the Langkawi Bird Paradise all within a few miles of the property.
For those who wish to make their accommodation their destination, this five-star property makes it easy. Travelers will find such amenities as a full business service center, currency exchange, laundry, childcare, shuttles, car rentals, parking, a full gift shop, a stunning swimming pool with islands and bridges, a full-service spa, many outdoor activities (including archery, cycling, volleyball, water sports, fishing, touring and trekking and more), and four separate restaurants along with one lounge, two bars and a single sports bar.
The accommodations range from studios and chalets to over the water bungalows. All of the rooms are beautifully designed and feature native materials, outdoor living spaces, premium bedding and linens, signature toiletries, free Wi-Fi, entertainment systems, mini-bars, and more.
When looking for a luxurious getaway in a nearly unbelievable setting, and one with lots of things to do, the Berjaya Langkawi Resort in Malaysia is a good choice.
